I was looking at that too... but Paizo oh-so-cleverly omitted the Charisma-to-AC revelations from the ones you can get. :P

Edit: Prestige classes can be fun, if not always optimal. Never had the pleasure of using one myself. They always seem to get really interesting abilities. (I love the flavor behind the One Finger ability.)

Sorry Ary, I had not understood your question very well (thanks Ehren for clarifying). Markus has it right. However, after looking back at the build I am aiming for, it seems that oracle would only be taken for the curse (I aim at pumping up dexterity in order to use the stamina option of agile maneuver).

As for the Iroran paladin, I remeber liking it less than the CoI, and also, when I first though of Hinagiku, one of the idea was to try to make the prestige class work... so its also a challenge for me!

As for VMC, the build I am aiming at needs to many feats (too bad :( ).

I liked the letter... But there are a few small plot holes.

1: He is blind. Is one of the kids gonna have to be like 'it says here that if she dies, she wants to be buried with her hilt?

2: He is blind. He's gonna start to walk out the door and step on your letter like a banana peel, and break his immortal elven hip or something.

What are you attuning to? Be sure to mention it in your appearance for us, if it has any visual effects! (Mine probably won't be visible to you, as it was a change from the norm. :))

Ah, right, one last modification (which is in the alias) switched all linguistics ranks to k.history. My take on it is that Hinagiku's inherent knowledge of the world allows her to develop some knowledge skills naturally... I though about k. history but it could very well be K. nature and even k.geography... what do you guys think would fit well?

Thanks Ary, its helpful, the one spell modification (the non domain one), will have to wait until I know what are the exact conditions of her incarceration.

I did not know attunement would affect appearance.... now, what is attunement with unarmed strikes? Do I pick an item to gives it or is the whole body attuned? I think the coolest thing would be to have her own body be attuned to weapons and armor... but that would give her some unfair advantages....

You could always go the bardic route and dabble in a few of them a bit to get the kicker in the ones that are class skills. Some linguistics wouldn't hurt in the long run too, as we've got a basic group sign language, and with a linguistics point you can communicate freely with it.

Well, armor-wise it can be your robe, attunement explicitly works with non-armor clothes, treating them as having an armor bonus of +0 to start with.

Appearances: I think it can be whatever strikes your fancy. In Ary's case her shield appears more impressive, but it's not really treated as anything active. In Isilme's case it's runes she's inscribed on her weapon and buckler that allow her to enhance them. It'd certainly make sense that a follower of Irori could practice with a weapon or piece of armor with a focus on perfecting their use of it, and simply be better at it than they were before, without there being any outward change in appearance.

Unarmed strikes utilize the whole body. Your mythic attunement chooses one weapon (which could be your body as a whole. One of the coolest thing about monks is that it isn't just punchx3; it can be, if you're a boxer, though!)

Attunement doesn't have to affect appearance, though it's fun to mess with it a bit (remember, half of all magic weapons glow, just as an example!)

For Ary, I had her shield's attunement make her ancient weapon slough off its age a bit. :)

Isilme used runic magic to make a magical circuit run through the weapon.

Val's mithral chain is gold in the right lighting, and her starknife looks 'pristine'. :P I'd like more information on that! :)

I don't quite recall other attunement awesomeness, but I really, really liked being able to do a little scene where the attunement happened. :)

Edit: What she said! You can change your attunement every day, so maybe today it's your body, but tomorrow it's a bow, and then the day after that, it's a kusarigama. :P

It'd basically be like getting an amulet of mighty fists.

I would probably role play it as her getting progressively more badass at martial arts. ;) But it's up to you.

Re: incarceration -

You are shackled with iron manacles about BOTH your hands and feet - the cultists learned that this was necessary for Hinagiku the hard way ;) She isn't gagged, though.

You are at full HP, but have failed your attempts to get free from the manacles.

You were originally with a whole group of captured crusaders 20 or so in total- some are your former comrades that you went on that failed mission with. Others, strangers. But over the course of the last 24 hours they have been dragged away for use in sacrificial rites.

But now it is just you and one other. :) She's... not doing so well. But she's alive! Just not conscious.

EDIT: Oh, they have taken all your gear. But being a monk, this shouldn't be too big of a deal.

You'll find your stuff, no worries :P

I really need to take a rank in Linguistics. I didn't at last level.

And as for Val's knife, it basically looks brand new and freshly polished, no matter what happens. I was going to have abyssal runes appear along the blades to show the innate power of her blood filling them, but I wasn't sure on that.

I didn't put much thought into mine. But then, I thought it odd that Ehren could be attuned to a weapon he hasn't actually used yet. Maybe the effect hasn't quite kicked in? :p

Ehren's mythic druid blood infused the club after the second time he smashed himself with it, empowering it and linking it to him! If you hit yourself again, you're required to make it a legendary item. :P

Another thing for you to remember - the mythic nerfs list. Specifically the limit on extra attacks at full BAB - flurry + spending ki to get extra attacks won't work. I'm sure that more of the nerfs might apply to you, though.

I would think Flurry + Ki would work, but Flurry + Ki + Haste wouldn't, as Flurry is really supposed to be more like dual-wielding than a bonus attack like haste provides.

Dual weild penalizes all your attacks by two... so I don't think it does. It might, though, so good question. I think that's what Ehren was getting at for original flurry being better with the nerfs in place. :)

That being said, it's not really a big deal for a monk, as there are a -ton- of other things to do with Ki. Very, very fun things. :)

Oh for sure. They've got plenty to spend Ki on now.

If dual-wield isn't affected then haste is still worth picking up to tag three of us (or four if you count Ehren), but otherwise it becomes pretty attractive to be able to pick it up as a self-buff with a level 2 slot.

Hmm, this is kinda quite a nerf for the monk (that means that flurry will only add 1 attack, not 2 (at level 11)).I almosst agree with Ehren that the original monk could work better with these rules.

As for Ki... the flowing monk only (from everyman's conversion) only gets the extra attack as a ki ability. I guess wit the Champion of Irori's ability to trade ki for smite eviel will prove more usefull than expected.

As for the sign language the group is using, I have a funny roleplay idea on how Hinagiku might learn it, but I will stick with a knowledge skill instead of linguistic (and take one rank in linguistic later on).

  • You should designate enemies that you want to use Redirection with ahead of time - since immediate actions are weird in pbp.
  • Hmmm. You should have 14 normal skill points and 8 background skill points. For a total of 22 skill points. But you have 24 ranks invested.
  • You also seem to have calculated your skills incorrectly. I have: +9 acrobatics, +6 knowledges, +11 perception, +11 profession,
  • I have your AC as 18/18 Touch/15 FF - where AC = 10 + 2 dex + 4 wis + 1 dodge + 1 enhancement.
  • I have your CMD at 21 (10 + 3 BAB + 1 STR +2 DEX + 1 dodge + 4 WIS), or 23 vs trip.
  • I have your CMB at +4 (3 BAB + 1 STR) or +7 unarmed (3 BAB + 4 WIS) or +9 unarmed trip
  • Let me know when you've picked your starting gear. I keep track of weight. :)
