In any case I thought the flirty scribe was a cute idea. Something I want to play with in this AP in y'all is fame.... at some point, your PCs are going to be recognizable by literally anyone they bump into (good and ill) by virtue of their good deeds. I'm interested in seeing how they react and cope with their celebrity status.
But I want to try and get to that point... naturally? I guess? And having you rescue that hoard of NPCs was the first step on that path, I think. Favorable word of mouth :)
Markus seemed like a natural fit for an admirer, not because of his charisma, but because he is moroi-born. They certainly seem to be the seducing, handsome dracula-esque vampires in the Golarion pool of vampires to choose from, so my head-canon picture of Markus is someone really magnetic and handsome - even if he himself isn't actually very social.
ANYWAY I'm about to hit the road and won't be able to respond until much later tonight. I know you guys are itching to move forward but your PCs can always sit and chat. We're about to ramp into a lot of action and dungeon-crawlyness so you should take advantage of the quiet moments :3

Estrod is gonna be a fricking labyrinth, isn't it? :|
Also, I noticed all the folks noticing Ary. :p. Or rather, noticing Faith. :) I look forward to maybe giving it a higher charisma than Ary. Then we can make It take leadership, and it can get a pretty little intelligent dancing sword cohort to settle down with. :p
Side note... I'm really torn between taking the leadership marshal power -and- leadership. On the one hand, it gives more. On the other, her leadership score will be low, so doubly investing makes me sad, even though it's thematically appropriate.
Also, also... watching Fate/Zero... and my goodness, I can draw parallels between Saber and Ary. The drinking episode was so good for showing the flaws in Ary's thinking. You can protect everyone, but if you don't teach them to walk on their own, what happens when you're gone? as well as so many other things (there is selfishness in strength).
Suffice to say, it's really good so far. I'm mostly ignoring the politics, though, and just adoring the servants.

I'm sorry, I am having fun! I just often don't know where to fit into all of these really chaotic, big-interaction portions of gameplay. I'm a bit like Markus there.
I'm actually a lot like Markus.
Ary Bishop
I feel like the best characters are a reflection of some part of ourselves. It makes it easier to step into their shoes... and much easier to remember in what ways you and they are different. :)

Good!
Sorry I just get weirdly...anxious? About whether or not you guys are happy or not. I haven't been doing this very long - pbp especially but also tabletop rpgs in general. So I haven't much of a yardstick to determine if I'm doing okay :x
----
ANYWAY I'm home! But now I'm hosting a f2f session because... I'm insane D: No rest for the wicked!
When I get a chance to post I'll wrap up the stuff with Aravashnial... hopefully have a really awkward moment with a certain scribe NPC and Markus... and then change scenes :)
Speaking of the scene change.... with Li'an dead is Isilme going to be scouting ahead? Or is Valaria now doing a solo job? Or are you guys just gonna eskew scouting entirely?
Ehren Ferron
After what happened, I'm not so sure Ehren would be comfortable with anyone scouting ahead anymore, especially when he's stuck in the back.
He's also probably going to be a bit more stingy with keeping everyone topped off, now that he has that wand. :P
Isilme
In theory Isilme should be just as suited to scouting as Li'an was, just slightly worse in perception. On the other hand she's got Vanish and will have Invisibility next level.
Of course whether Valaria is comfortable with working side by side with Li'an's doppelganger is another issue entirely ;)
Edit: Honestly the lesson we should take from Li'an's death is to top people off. I was being stingy with the potion I had, when I should've taken it. If she'd been max health she'd likely have lived, since it's unlikely the cultists would've bothered with a coup de grace until the fight was over.
Valaria Alazario
It will be an interesting chance to roleplay, I'll give it that.
Hrut Ingvarson
Yes I have quite the beard, there isnt a good pic of my character unfortunately.
On the note of sneakiness, maybe Hrut will just be extra loud and won't have to run in and save you, since it never works... in his opinion.
Ehren Ferron
About half of the party could use the ranseur, but the martials seems to already have their own signature weapons. I just now kinda realized that it's aesthetically fitting for Ehren, but he doesn't have the feats to afford to use it. Plus it's not cold iron, so...
I'm for selling it.
Also, I was also under the impression that we were going to move on instead of resting.
Hrut Ingvarson
Sell and distribute, I need plate mail lol! Really I need a shield so I have no use for it, and you cant disarm a claw or bite or tail or slam...
Ary Bishop
Home. :) The next time Ary has money, I would like to purchase this Ring. Since the ring of protection part is taken out, would I be able to buy it for the remaining 1k gold? I'm really only interested for the prestidigitation part. :)
I left a note on the loot list, because Paizo was down when I went to RP. :(
Markus Coffinborn
Markus will absolutely share his platinum with you if it comes to it, Ary. He's got very little else that he wants.
Actually there's very little that he wants in general that's not fabulously expensive/more onyxes.
EDIT: Actually...
Knight-Inheritor's Ring: 1d100 ⇒ 75
Markus will just go buy it for you, Ary (once he's done conversing with the lovestruck scribe) and present it as a gift. Assuming stealing your idea to make your character like mine isn't too terrible.
Markus Coffinborn
Also, miss Kioralady!
I can cast scrolls at a higher level than I can cast by making a caster level check (DC = CL +1).
Scrolls of 2nd-level spells are CL 3rd, which means DC 4. I can make that even on a 1.... would a 1 still fail?
Ehren Ferron
I am pretty sure that the only things that autosuccess/autofail applies to are attack rolls and saving throws.
Ary Bishop
Neat! And apparently... Sold! :)
Ehren Ferron
Markus should be careful with how he gifts that ring to Ary. o3o
Markus Coffinborn

I hope my words were careful enough. I'll gift the ring to Ary at an appropriate time.
EDIT: I see you edited it once you got my joke. Did you? (It's because I'm a mage, and I use SPELLS. SPELLING things OUT. HAHA)
I'm terrible with puns.
I'm also not going to try that Sense Motive check because I have a +1 to it.
Ary Bishop
Ary would have pointed out that the scrollmaker is probably also good with spells... and the fact she's a scribe means she's good with her hands. And probably spelling. :)

This is the way "Triple Time" sounds in my head for some reason. :P
Isilme
1 person marked this as a favorite.
That works, just imagine that three times back to back, and faster each time! ;)
Things that would also work:
The "might drive you a little crazy" version
The "not really in a rush to buff" version

I bet this one isn't going into the diary either, huh?

I'm heading to hang out with the RP group again, feel free to bot me! Ary will try to not kill, given the choice! :) She also has 50 feet of rope. I think I said so... but not sure!

Did you have that the whole time? Or did you buy it recently?
I wanna say you left your rope at the lizard chasm.
GM Kiora
Doin' some book-keeping on the last two days of vacation :3
I would like you guys to double check the loot list and verify it is correct with what yoooou have as what you have.
Ary
You bought... muleback cords and also pitched in 59 platinum for Isilme's ring. Leaving 41 pp from your reward, right? Then you also have the money and gems from the encounter against Aigon and the other cultists.
Ary donated a bunch of stuff - wheelwright's tools, swords, holy symbols.
Ary also has the marilith toy that is at Gwerm Manor.
Ehren
Ehren spent the entirety of his Gwerm monies share on a pearl of power and 55 gp on a set of manacles with an average lock.
Are you still gonna carry your broken club??
Did you sell Millorn's spellbook?
Hrut
You bought... a cold iron masterwork warhammer, a cold iron spiked shield, and cold iron spiked gauntlets. And an ioun torch, and some banded mail.
So are you carrying around your old axe and two hammers? Your old shield? Or did you donate them?
So you have about... 30 pp left?
Isilme
You bought... the ring of spell storing (with Ary's help) and also a scroll of CLW, and also a cold iron rapier.
So did you buy a spellbook to scribe Millorn's spells into or did you have that all along?
Did you sell and split your gems?
How much money do you have left?
Markus
You sold Vagorg's ranseur for 215 pp
You bought three scrolls of blindness/deafness and two scroll cases (452 gp), a ring for a special lady (100 pp), 20 onyxes, 2 scrolls of doom, 1 scroll of darkvision... did I leave something out?
You have 70 pp and 11 gp left in your purse, right?
Valaria
You...bought muleback cords :D
You also have Millorn's monies. So you have 18 gp, right?
Valaria Alazario
1 person marked this as a favorite.
You've got it right for me at least.
Ehren Ferron
Only spent 35 gp on the manacles - it has a simple lock.
Ehren repaired the club back at Defender's Heart using mending.
As for the spellbook, he'll have to defer to Isilme on that one. She expressed interest in it IIRC.
Isilme
Li'an had a travel spellbook from the start, along with the scrolls she bought with her starting funds, although I never asked if I could just assume they were *in* the spellbook to begin with.
I ended up spending exactly the money I had (100pp) plus the portion I borrowed from Ary (59pp)
I still have the gems as I don't think I've gotten a consensus on what to do with them. Even if Li'an found them, they weren't hers, and definitely not Isilme's :p
Edit: And assuming she had a bit of time to copy grease/silent image, then that was all Isilme needed.
Ehren Ferron
Also, I have Ehren listed with a CLW and CSW potion... I can't remember if he got an extra one at some point (Anevia/Irabeth's?) or if I just forgot to deduct it from his sheet...

Behold, a spreadsheet! for tracking y'alls money and in case you want to know what your share would be if you split everything exactly evenly.
I'm not getting ready for you guys to find a windfall of cash or anything :p don't mind me

I'm pretty sure that your evaluation of my purchases and remaining cash are correct for me. That's what I have on my sheet, at least.
Markus Coffinborn
Markus' Bluff modifier (his Cha mod, that is) is +4. Not that it matters, but there's the difference.
Also, Isilme, you're 80ft. down.
EDIT: The normal initiative order is missing Valaria, GM.
Valaria Alazario
Argh Slumber Hex. Evil Witch.
Valaria Alazario
Coup de Graces are nasty. Slumber Hex is fun though.

Home. Holy snap. So many posts. Need to catch up on gameplay. In the meantime: She definitely had rope; Li'an left hers behind, if I remember right, and bought new rope. It might not be worthwhile.
