I can brew flying potions.

Everyone ready to head out? Might as well jump into the last module if I am right.

Male Human Paladin of Sarenrae Lvl 17 (HP 100/155| AC:31 (33 Undead) (DR 3/-, 5/evil)| T: 17 (31 vs incorp) | FF: 31 (33 undead)| Fort:+22 | Ref:+18 | Will:+20 | Init + 3 | Perc + 16l

Sorry late to the party.

We did a decent job with the last dungeon because we actually took the time to buff before we went in.

What do you say if we do that again?

I’m thinking we buy a number of scrolls that can be used.

For example we have the discussion of how to get to the next place. Well phantom steed communal seemss as like the perfect solution. 100’ flying mounts for the entire party all day for the cost of 2 of Stams 4th level spell slots seems a good deal.

Buffs we might want considering we are going against a lich. Death Ward, circle of pro evil, spell resistance Freedom of movement,

Combine with potions of fly and see invisibility and we are in a pretty good state to handle most of what will come at us.
The spells last minutes or longer so we can cast them off scrolls or you can memorize them and use spell slots.

Add in a couple heal and raise dead scrolls (in case we need them) and that is way cheaper then trying to buy items that do all that like a staff of life.

Thoughts?

Human Cleric 8 Exalted 8 / AC 28/32, Touch 15, Flat 25 / HP 106 / Init +5 / Fort +11, Ref +9, Will +20 / Perception +11 / Channel Positive Energy (DC17/19)

Well, we're still at the shop, so you're in time.

Some of that Darius can prepare too.
I could do:
- Magic Circle against Evil (3rd)
- True Seeing (5th)
- Death Ward (4th)
- Invisibility Purge (3rd)

Fly potions I can brew and I have extracts I can hand out

So A fly potion of 13th level costs 975 GP. SO 4 of them are 3,900 gp

3 spell level
13 Caster level

3x13x50=975

Do we need multiple copies of things like Death ward if we are heading into lots of Undead?

I would think we would want at least the front line to be protected, but if we end up fighting something like spectors that can move past the front line, you may want multiple versions of the spell to prevent significant level drains.

Finally did the Level up. New 4th Level spell (Either Death ward or Resounding Blow) and new Feat Blind Fight.

Rest is standard.

I have Death Ward extracts to use and pass around. 13 minutes.

5000 gold of gems

Kitsune Game Master

@Gregof
I'm fine with waiting a day or two for Stam if he's around.

But if no new post pops up if he doesn't I might as well forget that the game is stuck for a while.

When you think we waited long enough, you can simply tell Darius of your findings with detect evil as that lowers the DC by 5 and with that, below what he rolled.

Dang it.... I posted to the discussion that I wanted to buy a couple see invisilbity potions and potions of fly. But never posted them to gameplay.
I really did intend to buy them.

Do I have them or not?
And if I do have them how much should I mark off my gold?

Kitsune Game Master

You can have that scrolls. But save them for now. The thing used greater teleport to flee.

Male Human Paladin of Sarenrae Lvl 17 (HP 100/155| AC:31 (33 Undead) (DR 3/-, 5/evil)| T: 17 (31 vs incorp) | FF: 31 (33 undead)| Fort:+22 | Ref:+18 | Will:+20 | Init + 3 | Perc + 16l

Potions, hopefully as I can't cast them as scrolls. I'll mark the gold off.

How far away are these things?
Is this a long range combat type situation, or are we like 30 feet away?

I'm not really up for negotiating with undead who are already casting spells in an area full of dead bodies.

Kitsune Game Master

50 ft away on top of a barrow, while you're at the bottom.

Male Human Paladin of Sarenrae Lvl 17 (HP 100/155| AC:31 (33 Undead) (DR 3/-, 5/evil)| T: 17 (31 vs incorp) | FF: 31 (33 undead)| Fort:+22 | Ref:+18 | Will:+20 | Init + 3 | Perc + 16l

Did we rest from the last fight, or is this the same day?

I believe we took a few days to get to Renchurch and so rested.

Kitsune Game Master

I agree. I'm no big fan of retracking my spell use.

Male Human Paladin of Sarenrae Lvl 17 (HP 100/155| AC:31 (33 Undead) (DR 3/-, 5/evil)| T: 17 (31 vs incorp) | FF: 31 (33 undead)| Fort:+22 | Ref:+18 | Will:+20 | Init + 3 | Perc + 16l

Who are we waiting on?

Kitsune Game Master

Spugnoir and Darius.

Kitsune Game Master

Also what you do, as the tree grabs for you. Because you would have to walk through some AoOs to get somewhere. Fo rsome enemies more for some less. But you have the movement to reach anyone you want and hit them.

Stab the trees, you are HUGE!

I don't have Trapfinding so unless Foxy says otherwise I can't disable the door and we have to destroy it or find another way in.

Kitsune Game Master

Is everyone aware how haunts work? Because I get the impression that not.

A haunt is like an undead incorporeal trap. You get a perception check to notice that you triggered it. If you notice, you get a surprise round to act before it hits you.

You can harm it with positive energy, like channel, cure spells and the like. If you have to aim it's vs. AC10. No search necessary. If you experience the haunt, you're in its area.

Interesting part is, that everyone who is immune to fear is immune to the primary effect. Sadly no one cares to write down what is primary and what it secondary effect. :(

So we can head north into the north room to get out of the way and buff some then deal with it

Male Human Paladin of Sarenrae Lvl 17 (HP 100/155| AC:31 (33 Undead) (DR 3/-, 5/evil)| T: 17 (31 vs incorp) | FF: 31 (33 undead)| Fort:+22 | Ref:+18 | Will:+20 | Init + 3 | Perc + 16l

I would hope we are, after all we fought enough of them early in the AP.

But that was years ago in RL so I appreciate the refresher.
I remember having to find the haunt before I could hit it back then, but as I said it was a long time ago.

Kitsune Game Master

Back then I also had only a vague concept of how haunts work and a lot of the ones in the Harrowstone were very special.

Male Human Paladin of Sarenrae Lvl 17 (HP 100/155| AC:31 (33 Undead) (DR 3/-, 5/evil)| T: 17 (31 vs incorp) | FF: 31 (33 undead)| Fort:+22 | Ref:+18 | Will:+20 | Init + 3 | Perc + 16l

So I can target the haunt with my Lay on Hands, given the perception roll do I know where to target?

Kitsune Game Master

Yes. Just give an attack roll and don't move too far away before doing so.

How about Holy/Ectoplasmatic bombs?

Kitsune Game Master

Positive energy.

None of your bombs register as that.

Male Human Paladin of Sarenrae Lvl 17 (HP 100/155| AC:31 (33 Undead) (DR 3/-, 5/evil)| T: 17 (31 vs incorp) | FF: 31 (33 undead)| Fort:+22 | Ref:+18 | Will:+20 | Init + 3 | Perc + 16l

Isn't antipathy blocked by Pro Evil?

Kitsune Game Master

Maybe, didn't check.

Male Human Paladin of Sarenrae Lvl 17 (HP 100/155| AC:31 (33 Undead) (DR 3/-, 5/evil)| T: 17 (31 vs incorp) | FF: 31 (33 undead)| Fort:+22 | Ref:+18 | Will:+20 | Init + 3 | Perc + 16l

My guess is they are thinks that characters at this level should be able to raise dead, so dying isn’t unreasonable.

Or that people should know that the haunt is coming so no big deal to be ultra nasty.

Spugnoir could use the headband

I could use the ring + 3. I'm not going to worry too much about getting my AC too high. I do enough damage that it's not like most monsters can ignore me.

Also the elixir of hiding would help if we actually want to sneak someplace.

That spellbook is full of nasty stuff. Glad I killed him.

We are just looking for the next hint to the whispering way right? We knew they came this way, but not much more. Or did I forget something?

I'll take the headband if no other takers and adjust my character stats.

Kitsune Game Master

What are you doing here?

I don't know. But usually after we kill enough people/creatures it finally makes sense and leads us on to the next site, where we continue the killing spree. :D

I think you are searching for Count Lucinean Galdana whom - according to Ramoska Arkminos - they want to turn into the Whispering Tyrant.

Ya, Count 'Not appearing in this adventure.' Haven't seen hide nor hair of him.

Male Human Paladin of Sarenrae Lvl 17 (HP 100/155| AC:31 (33 Undead) (DR 3/-, 5/evil)| T: 17 (31 vs incorp) | FF: 31 (33 undead)| Fort:+22 | Ref:+18 | Will:+20 | Init + 3 | Perc + 16l

Ya, the tie between the stories here has not been the greatest. We've lost the thread a few times here.

But it has had some fun set pieces and I finally figured out how to play a paladin, so I'm not about to complain.

But I think the majority of the APS have this problem.

So more smash the undead? Be sure to drink the extracts. Haste makes things better.

Kitsune Game Master

Feel free to write yourself back to the cathedral and decide on a way in and which way to go where.

wand and 2,000 gp

5 x (potion of cure moderate wounds, giant wasp poison (2 doses), masterwork dagger, amulet of mighty fists +1, ring of protection +1)

There are a total of four ceremonial headpieces on display. If collected, the various gems adorning the ceremonial outfits have quite some value. In addition, four exquisite wands (spent of all their charges and now nonmagical) are made of valueable materials and might sell for even more based on historical significance. The remaining artifacts, are unlikely to survive removal because of their fragile state.

Kitsune Game Master

Those magic oils are much more practical than potions as they are easily applied by someone else. But I wonder if they stain your clothes, or if they just vanish, once they did their magic?

No doubt adventurers are a very smelly and dirty lot. Self cleaning clothing and armor is no doubt a very profitable buisness.
