Checking in! updating character sheet, with different spells prepared, etc.
okay think I'm ready. some scrolls of cure light wounds, and some acid. Yay for now having a chance to do something against swarms and undead...

Okay, done did not realize Eldritch Heritage required you to be 3rd, picked up a Wand of Cure Light to cover healing with 2PP. Bought Masterwork Artisan's Tools 55gp, Masterwork Thieve's Tools 100gp, Sleeves of Many Garments 200gp, Signet Ring for 5gp, Jewellery for 50gp, and sold my Thieve's Tools for 15gp.

Switched Disguise hex for fortune, seems to fit character better. Picked up 1x scroll of Mage Armor, 1x Scroll of Ear Piercing Scream, 2x acid, and 10 more bolts. Spent 2pp to get Wand of Cure Light Wounds (50Charges)

Gameplay is open and moving for everyone. No rush, so take your time updating and purchasing if you need it. I'll move forward once everyone has gotten ready and checked in.
EndlessForms
No, I missed that because it's set to inactive. Thanks. I'll send him another message.
EndlessForms
Ok, sent Jaysin a PM with chronicle and link. Not sure how I missed him. And of course I didn't see any updates on Voice of the Void once it was set to inactive because I generally don't look beyond my Campaigns page for updates. I started up this and another one in less than 24 hours and hadn't noticed we were missing anyone. Of course, if I had gone to roll init I would have noticed someone was missing.
Ah well, good thing you were paying attention and noticed before we started the first combat!

How could you possibly not know the Taldan was absent? Seems you lot need to upgrade your competence!
I would have sent a PM eventually, don't worry, LOL. I didn't notice the thread was inactive. In any case, the great archer is present now, you may proceed.
I'll update Jaysin with his chronicle and notify you of any purchases. Meanwhile, maybe I'll go dot the other thread so I don't get left behind, hehe. Thanks for waiting, folks.
EndlessForms
Once you dot the gameplay the entire campaign should show up on the campaign tab of your profile. That's the easiest way to keep track of them (but also the reason I didn't catch your Voice in the Void comment because once it's set to inactive it no longer shows up in your Campaign tab).

Problem is I don't check under there nearly often enough, I focus my forum posts and look that way. I should just remember to check there more often.
Purchases:
(50) Cold Iron Blunt Arrows = 10gp
(8) Weapon Blanched - Silver = 40gp
Upgrade Composite Bow from +1 to +2 : 100gp
EDIT : Forget Cold Weather Outfit : 8gp
Of course I will use the blanch on the 50 new arrows and the 30 Cold Iron arrows I had left over.

I'm fairly certain you are not allowed to upgrade the strength bonus on composite bows, you would have to sell it and get a new bow. I'll see if I can find a thread about it...
And nope, I am dead wrong, which is rather nice.

I thought I had read that you could, the logic they used was you were upgrading the tensioning of the string or something so you only needed to pay for the difference. Of course I have no idea if that is actually something that can be done to a real bow or if the bow itself needs to be recreated. Whichever way it needs to be done I have the gold to do it.
EDIT : I found this in the PFS guide just now:
A mundane item can not be upgraded to masterwork, nor can nonmagical aspects of equipment be upgraded (such as the strength rating on a composite bow).
So with that in mind I will sell the original (+250 gp) and rebuy the bow as required, making it out of darkwood this time (-630 gp).
What did you find that countered this?
Jaysin Deckert

Actually maybe I should just have the original bow enchanted with the Adaptive quality? The original cost of the bow was 500gp, Adaptive is 1000gp, correct? So that's 1500gp total which is the top limit I can buy for my fame. Am I right or does the weapon have to be enchanted to at least +1 before I can use that? I'm making a mess out of this, LOL

I searched the forums and found a thread where people said it could be done, but I think it was referencing the 4.0 guide. Common practice seems to be to get bows made adaptive ASAP. I just bought a +3 Str Darkwood Composite Longbow with 2PP for another character costs 730gp so its a pretty good deal.

I'll wait for EF to let me know how muchI need to spend, I'm sure he knows for sure. I hope Omorose's research is correct.
Jaysin Deckert
|
Hmm, I guess it depends. If it costs only 100gp to upgrade I will. If not then maybe it would be wise to wait.
EndlessForms
I'm pretty sure you can not upgrade mundane weapons (ie you can't upgrade the Str rating). So you have to sell the original bow and buy a new one. I always recommend just getting Adaptive ASAP but it has to have a +1 enchantment first (2000 gp).
Up to you whether you keep your current bow or sell and get a new one.

We'll keep it simple and keep the original since I already paid for it. Yet another thing I've learned about being an archer. I'll just keep the coin and wait for the enhancement (2000gp) and then the Adaptive (1000gp). So that is 3000gp I need to save up. Well, that and I need the fame and I can't get that until I play, so lets go! :)
Thanks for all the help, gang. Wish I didn't forget to at least make it a Darkwood bow but I guess that won't matter much.
EndlessForms
+1 enhancements are always available so you don't need to worry about the fame for that. But anything beyond that, yeah, you'll have to watch out for fame restrictions.
Darkwood is nice; greenwood can also be useful if it gets damaged. You can always sell the one you have and buy a new darkwood and it wouldn't cost that much in the long run. When you get to the high levels and start throwing around thousands (or tens of thousands) of gold without thinking much of it, you'll realize that quibbles over a few hundred gold are not really worth it in the long run.

I'll be attending Space City Con/Winter in Galveston this weekend. The place has wi-fi so I might be able to post each day but I still wanted to give a heads-up while I thought of it.
Manzcar
Okay Random that was hilarious from what does the fox say to the knocking boots had me cracking up.
EndlessForms
I will be visiting my brother for his birthday tomorrow and moving back to Bloomington on Sunday (GMing Reign of Winter that night) so updates may be slow for the rest of the weekend.
EndlessForms
Ok, we've just got a little bit to wrap up and then we'll be finished with this one folks. I believe I can easily find everyone's numbers from the last game but make Day Job rolls if you have them.
I will likely run another low-tier but I'm deciding on which to run still.

EndlessForms do you think I can use my legalistic bonus on the day job roll? She will promise to do a good job on her sculpture of whoever commissions her.
Craft (sculpture): 1d20 + 8 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 8 + 4 = 27
Whenever you break your word (either purposefully or unintentionally), you become sickened for 24 hours or until you meet your obligation, whichever comes first. However, once per day, you can make a vow to yourself that grants a +4 morale bonus on any one roll you make while trying to fulfill a promise made to another individual.
