Rule #1: Have fun.
Rule #2: Don't be a jerk.
Rule #3: Seriously, have fun with it. It's a game.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Please put the following in your header by adding it to the classes/levels section of your profile. I'm not picky about the formatting as long as the info is there as a quick reference for me so I don't have to dig around in your profile. It's also a good idea to keep your HP updated in your header so other party members can see:
HP | AC T FF | CMD | F R W | Init | Perc | SM
SM=Sense Motive
Thanks everyone!

Unfortunately I believe I have already GM'd Penumbral Accords, which is sort of the follow-up to this, so we won't be continuing the series after this one. Of course, we can just play something else instead.

Once Tektite decides on a character, we have six so we are ready to go! I can get the intro post up later.
EndlessForms
Yeah! ACG! I'm excited to see one of them in action.
I decided I really want to try Bloodrager for my Suli but I'm also hesitant in case there's a Djinni bloodline in the book next August, which would make the most sense. They don't have it in the playtest but I would imagine they would recreate all existing bloodlines for the bloodrager.

Yeah, I like the investigator a lot too. It has the most unique flavor that doesn't really overlap with any existing class, in my opinion. I think Black Bart will be an Investigator although I'm debating giving him two levels of brawler. Sherlock Holmes was a boxer, after all, and it will give him something to do in combat (maneuvers, mainly). I'm also going to reskin his alchemy stuff as if they were drugs since Sherlock did cocaine regularly in the books. It's a bit of a change from my original conception of Bart but I like it much better.

Hey folks! Stole this idea from Tektite (who stole it from others-but that's how these things work): feel free to check in at the Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge and hang out in-character or use the Discussion thread for out-of-character chatting. I'll likely be using it to announce upcoming PFS games and other GMs are welcome to do so as well.

Just to note: shriekers are basically a hazard, not an actual bestiary monster. Unless someone can point me to a passage somewhere I don't think you can kill them normally with weapons, etc. I'd probably allow someone to use an area-of-effect spell to get rid of it or some sort of silencing effect to bypass it but I don't think you could kill a 'normal' plant with arrows without it getting a shriek off first. But we'll worry about that when get back to that room.

A third party made stats for a shrieker (that can be seen on d20pfsrd) but in PF core rulebook their isn't stats about them, all it says is:
Slimes, Molds, and Fungi
In a dungeon’s damp, dark recesses, molds and fungi
thrive. For purposes of spells and other special effects, all
slimes, molds, and fungi are treated as plants. Like traps,
dangerous slimes and molds have CRs, and characters
earn XP for encountering them.Shrieker: This human-sized purple mushroom emits
a piercing sound that lasts for 1d3 rounds whenever there
is movement or a light source within 10 feet. This shriek
makes it impossible to hear any other sound within 50 feet.
The sound attracts nearby creatures that are disposed to
investigate it. Some creatures that live near shriekers learn
that this noise means there is food or an intruder nearby.
If I was to attach stats to it for PFS I would maybe use Violet Fungus - its attacks as it states.
Some species of shriekers (Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook 416) are relatively similar in appearance to violet fungi, although they lack the tentacular branches. It's not uncommon to find shriekers and violet fungi growing in the same grove—especially in areas where other creatures cultivate the fungi as guardians
EndlessForms
Well, but the scenario specifically says it's a shrieker. I can't just arbitrarily attach violet fungus stats to it.

It sounds like it's intended to be more like a trap (than a monster), and yeah, we won't be able to bash it without it going off. So we'll just have to be ready for whatever it attracts.

Tend to agree. Their is nothing explicitly stated about them and this being PFS kinda have to go by RAW so either we get lucky and find a scroll with a silence of some sort on it... or we hope it doesn't attract anything to crazy.
EndlessForms
Exactly. It's listed as a hazard, not a monster with stats. It's something that you can either "disable" (silence spell or something) or just deal with the fact that it's a clever natural alarm system that you can't do anything about and walk past it knowing fully well that it will shriek.

Not that it would matter at low level but i think this can be played at like lvl 5-7 where it would be a more significant factor. Would invisibility and/or levitate bypass the alarm? Seeing as it doesn't have eyes... I'm inclined to say no, as it must use air disturbance and photoreceptors to detect people (Can be used in underdark, so can't just be photoreceptors). I wonder if there is a way to sneak around them, beyond teleport, plane walking, or silence.
EndlessForms
It says they are set off by sensing movement within 10'. If there were room to move around it you could just walk around. But yeah, other than that I think you're stuck with the options you already mentioned.
Yeah, this one can be played at the 6-7 subtier where someone might actually have one of those but at this subtier I think you just have to bite your tongue and walk past it.
People in my Among the Gods will understand that. Altitude fatigue out the wazoo and nothing they could do about it except to just accept the penalties.

Hey everyone!
Please post your PFS # (for my ease) and roll a Day Job if you have one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you guys wanted to continue as a group, I was considering one of the following options:
01-37 The Beggar's Pearl
01-39 The Citadel of Flame
01-43 The Pallid Plague
01-45 Delirium's Tangle
01-51 The City of Strangers Part I: The Shadow Gambit of course followed by:
01-52 The City of Strangers Part II: The Twofold Demise
Let me which (if any) of those work for you.
EndlessForms
I'd like to do the two-parter as well since this is a good group and that's a fun pair of scenarios. They take place in Kaer Maga, which if you don't know is one of the strangest (and most dangerous) cities. It's basically where outlaws and misfits go to live. There's a whole undead village in town.
I'll wait to hear if everyone is available for those though.
Phyton Empyraster
01-37 The Beggar's Pearl
01-39 The Citadel of Flame
These are the only two I could play.
PFS# 65114-16
*Side note: Since the swarm was hit with the alchemist's fire, it should take another d6 of damage this round.
EndlessForms
I think we'll do 01-37 The Beggar's Pearl next. That way Phyton can stick with the group. As long as that is ok with everyone. We'll probably wrap this one up in a few days, I'm guessing.

Nari has learned her lesson from this one. Going to get some more offensive spells memorized for the next path. Just in case, once again, literally everything we fight is mind-less.

Ok, everyone but Manzcar should have gotten chronicles and an invite to the next game via PM. Let me know if there are any problems.
Manzcar: you'll get yours as soon as I get your PFS number.

EF, I don't see a chronicle sheet/invite. Of course, I also noticed I never dotted the discussion thread so that might have a bit to do with it, LOL.
