Kvarty responds to Chretien "Yes witchoil is very strange to use here, but in the Malice Lands it is widely used due to the tundra of the landscape. I do wonder what he was using it for."
In response to Falko, "I could lend you my book of Heid Eschatol if you do wish to read. The Philosoph himself travels and gives speeches about the philosophy. I have seen a few dwarves around the expo. But alas, I am alone, my mate and I broke things off properly when she and I were together."

LeMond Asher |

He turns to his fellows. "Nothing here. I think I'd like to backtrack and take a look at that ammunition, but otherwise I suppose we'll just have to keep our eyes open."
He nods to the dwarf, acknowledging him for the first time. Still wearing the Drakrian garb (Was your description earlier including my chain shirt, or am I unarmored for the drakr style I'm wearing to work?), he speaks to him in dwarvern. "A bone handled weapon I see. Making proper use of someone's end? I sense a story there."
Asher gives the dwarf's musket a glace (at least from what he can see), and pulls out his own (unloaded) black stained wood and metal firearm. He holds it out in a sign of mutual, respectful examination.
As per Deflt's orders, Asher keeps an eye on the dwarf for any mannerisms he finds unusual or suspect. Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

Cretien Dufrene |

In Drakr, Cretien says "Ah, you speak the language. I suppose I should have guessed by your manner of dress."

He then says, "In the frozen north there are many large beasts that the tropical country of Risur might not be familiar, however, there are quite a many beasts in your jungles. The jungles to south and east of Bole are very much inhabited by large creatures and even Fey titans. Don't fret sir, you shall find some interesting things."
He says to Delilah, "Excuse me madame, I was thinking if you could potentially assist me in mounting a ballistic gladius to the bottom of my musket. Just in case."
AJ
You then make your way to Colleen's Fuels and out front stands a dapper looking man out front that says. "What can I do you for?"

LeMond Asher |

Not speaking the language carved on the bone, Asher asks the dwarf to read it for him before he does business with his mentor.
Afterward, he pulls Cretien and Falko to the side. "Beyond just being attentive, do either of you have any ideas moving forward? Maybe we should separate to cover more ground and use the police to send messages if any of us detect anything suspicious. I'm not an optimistic man by nature, but I see no sinister omens so far."

Falko Escheus |
Once he's with his companions, he listens to LeMond's and looks at Cretien: "That's a possibility. I think we should have someone trail that Eschatologist. It's still the only kind of lead we have..."

Cretien Dufrene |

"No ideas, so far."

Kvarty unsheathes his gladius and hands it over to Delilah and say, "If you could that would be amazing but if not a last ditch personal defense weapon would also be great."

It is really hard, if both of you roll a natural 20, you can find it.

Cretien Dufrene |

"Either he is a master at deception, or he is largely unimportant. We should, however, find a means to obfuscate our appearance, as it appears fame is inescapable."

LeMond Asher |

Asher thinks for a moment. "Well, hiding your identities couldn't hurt. Mine as well, though I haven't seen any of the higher-class buffoonery to yet give me trouble, so maybe the Drakr garb is enough."
He looks between Falko and Cretien. "I don't think this guy is one of the 'crazy Eschatologists' Delft had mentioned, but if you have a hunch he should be followed, it's a good enough place to keep your eyes open as anywhere else. I don't buy it, but I'll trust your gut. He seemed to like you, maybe you can get him to preach to you directly, instead of just using that book he lent."

GMEDWIN |

I am going to push it forward and get the story cooking. AJ will be able to participate starting round 2 coming in from the south if they so choose.
Screams erupt from a crowd of fairgoers not far from the stage as they run in panic. As they pass, horrid monsters that could only exist in nightmares pursue them. One massive creature is nothing more than a ring of flesh and bone, with teeth pointed inward, and lashing tentacles extending outward. The tentacles have already grasped one bystander—a young dwarf—and he dangles in the air. It looks like it could swallow a man whole, though it has no throat, just a gaping maw.
Two smaller monsters buzz about the sky, like fleshy dragonflies the size of a man, with sleek bodies and elephant-like trunks that end in sharp beaks. The skin of all three monsters shifts from a brown-dappled ivory to a glassy translucence, as if they can’t decide whether they’re solid or not.
Monsters from beyond the mortal world are rare enough, but none of you have never heard of anything like these before.
A human male with long blond hair stands amidst the chaos, holding a gold staff in his right hand. He fires a magic missile from the staff, and a moment later a third dragonfly-beast materializes beside him.
Rock Rackus moves to get involved, but he is quickly loading his gun like he wants to help. The dwarven 'philospher' Kvarti Gorbatiy moves toward the fray.
Initiative:
Lemond 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12, Falko 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9, Chretien 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21, Kvarty 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12, Rock 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4, Langfield 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22, Large mawed monster 1d20 ⇒ 9 Flying Monsters 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Langfield takes a five foot step back and attacks the flying monster nearest him with magic missle 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 from the now golden staff.
Chretien, Lemond

Falko Escheus |
"I agree he's no lunatic... But his fr-" replies Falko to LeMond, but he's interrupted by the havoc: "What the-!" he mutters, taking in the impossible scene of paranormal dismay.
When he finally shakes the shock, he shouts to the others: "I'm going for wand-boy!" before taking off, hustling toward the blond guy.

LeMond Asher |

@GM: I never got an answer about my outfit and my armor. LeMond was introduced in a Drakr style outfit, and then we were dispatched to this expo soon after. Would I be wearing my chain shirt, or would that not fit the Drakr outfit I'm wearing?
As Falko takes in the scene and turns back to speak, Asher is already running into the fray, drawing his blackened musket as he does so. The winds around him pick up and swirl protectively as he runs. (swift action)
Double moving toward the corner of the 7 building, so he has a straight line of sight down the field. (move me 12 spaces to the left). also, just to make sure, Rakus, the blonde man, and the Dwarf are all apparently fighting the monsters?

Cretien Dufrene |

Lemond, 12 spaces to the left wouldn't quite get you to the corner.
Cretien moves 11 squares to the left. Which would put him at the corner of stall 7, so that next round he can 5' step into view.

GMEDWIN |

Mawed monster grapples a bystander and moves the woman towards its mouth.
Flying monster 1 flies and fires a ray at the man with the staff 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 miss
Flying monster 2 flies and fires a ray at the man with the staff 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14 hit causing 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Flying monster 3 moves to attack with its beak 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 miss
Rock fires a long shot at the flying monster #2 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 miss. Afterwards you can hear a scream from the crowd.
Angus and Johnathan arrive at the southern edge of the gun alley.

LeMond Asher |

On my turn:
Asher pulls an alchemical cartridge out of a belt pouch and loads his Musket with astonishing speed (Fast Musket + Rapid Reload + Alchemical cartridge = free action) while moving forward into the field. (30 feet around the corner and up the field (getting closer to building 6 in case I need to duck for cover).
"S#*$! We need to draw them off of the civies!" He growls, and lines up a shot on the large maw creature...
-2 to attack for being in my second range increment, I am using a grit point for Deadeye so it still counts as a touch attack. -2 for deadly aim for +4 damage. No point blank shot.
... then fires.
Attack roll vs touch: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage: 1d12 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Missfire - Weapon now "broken" Oh dag! The gunslinger curse!
With his weapon failing to fire, he yells at the beast in his loudest voice. "Hey you f$&&ing large mouthed piece of s&@@! Are you to f#%&ing stupid to not know better than to eat while yer being shot at! Come here and get a taste, bastard!"
Oh, GM!: Is the booth with the dwarf selling the special ammunition on the map?

Johnathan Eli Holbrook |

Johnathan runs to the commotion, and skids to a stop when he sees the monsters, cursing in Aklo.

Angus' magic missiles hit home but they seem to not be doing the damage you would think they would.
Lemond and Chretien's weapons missfire.
Kvarti moves 20feet and attacks the mawed creature with his musket 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 hit 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Falko

Cretien Dufrene |

it just gains the broken condition (-2 atk -2 dmg) until i repair its HP. It has 14 HP, and to be broken it must be at half or less, so I need to repair 7 HP of dmg to it to negate the broken quality. As a rifle, a further misfire will not cause it to explode.

LeMond Asher |

Indeed! Or be a super-cool gunsmith with grit™ and gumption to clear a misfire ;). That was your turret that misfired though, not your rifle. Can your turret even actually misfire? I have no idea how your class works!

Cretien Dufrene |

yeah i mean technically it cant misfire, but the class was in a setting where misfiring isnt really a thing. so i figure it would misfire, according to the equivalent weapon, which is a rifle.

Falko Escheus |
Having rounded the corner and gotten a better view, Falko wonders what exactly could be done against such monsters. He shouts to his colleagues: "What do we do?! Are they just like people? Can they be killed?"
Anyhow... Let's try something! he thinks as he rushes forward and shouts at them: "By the Foul Fey! What What Cosmic loophole allowed the lot of you to mess up our part of the world. Begone! BEGONE!!" As his voice rises, it gains a peculiarly frightening quality and the very air grows incandescent from the power of his roar.
