The woman seems depressed, and says, "Strange, the mayor of the Nettles and Cauldron Hill, who is appointed, we even knew about that in Bole. I guess we were all hoodwinked. Sheesh, I feel so stupid. I just wanted to give my country an edge and er, concentrate on mixing the arcane with science. Drats... "
She then starts to cry.

Cretien Dufrene |

"I'm sure the truth will all be sorted out in the end. For now lets just focus on averting disaster. Lets disable all these devices. I am sure all assistance rendered to RHC will be taken into account when legal matters are being settled."
back on track, lets get those pieces and disable this thing ASAP

You follow the mayor through the third door to a staircase that takes you further down into the limbo between the real world and the Bleak Gate under Cauldron Hill.
After descending the staircase you end up into a tunnel is lined with pipes, where you can hear the steady bubbling of liquid within. In this room there are three doors in addition to the one you just came in from. The mayor takes you to the right and through the first door to the right. Inside this room is all the possible materials that are required to plug up the leaks of the machine.
Chretien instructs the group on what things the group needs to fix the witchoil engine. You then follow Chretien back up the stair to start repairing the machine.

Cretien will start repairing the machine, using his fantastic contraption as a proxy to protect himself from contact with the witchoil as much as is practicable.

During the climb down, Falko asks the mayor: "How deep does this go?!"

GMEDWIN |

The mayor says, "Well there is the resevoir."
Through the work of the group of you, you are very confident that all of the leaks have been repaired and the machine should be able to work.
I need a few more checks for the machine to run. Chretien through his technologist theme, understands the procedure but the checks need to be completed for the machine to work properly.

With a heavy pull, Chretien's makes the engine come to life. It starts to cough the exhaust of burning witchoil and the lights in the tunnel turn on, making it much easier to see.
The mayor says, "Now we got the lights on, we need to go and see what kind of damage the tremors have done. Follow me to the reservoir."

GMEDWIN |

You follow the mayor down the stairs again and then he takes you to the first door to the right but just before he opens the door and alarm sounds and then he pushes the door open and then sees the dials and says, "It looks like pressure is building on the relief pipe where the oil is supposed to go."
He then looks towards the ladder that goes down and you can see that witchoil is rising from the reservoir. He then moves over to the edge and says,"My eldritch machine is partially submerged by the oil. This is really bad. We need to check the pipes!"

Cretien Dufrene |

"Looks like you all really half-assed everything with this machine. Not content to kill yourselves, you must bring the world as we know it down with you..."

GMEDWIN |

The mayor says, "The earthquake caused this, it was unforeseeable. Anyway, follow me."
You follow him back through the hallway back to the corridor and then you see two large pipes and follow them west until you get onto a catwalk that is five feet above a large reservoir of witchoil.
An entrance to an elevator is also to the right. You follow him to the two pipes.

GMEDWIN |

The mayor says, "The relief pipe leads down the north face of Cauldron Hill, anything more than a trickle could destroy the Nettles or even Parity Lake, we should switch the pipe to "Down" and then turn the pumps on in the control room, unless someone wants to dive into the pool of witchoil and adjust the speed to fast on the eldritch machine we would need to wait. "Down" goes into the center of Cauldron Hill, but for the oil to have built up so much in the reservoir, there must be something wrong with the relief pipe."

Cretien Dufrene |

"One, why does the relief pipe lead tothe Nettles and Parity Lake??"
"Two, where is 'the center of Cauldron Hill' connected to? We had witchoil flowing up out of the sewers in town!"
does the witchoil hurt machines? i could try to send my fantastic contraption down to adjust the speed on the machine, but i wanna know where that GOES. Also, what about setting it to leak topside and burning it? I mean i know that is bad for the souls contained, but i dont know that they can ever be un-screwed once made into witchoil, and it would probably save the living folks, anyway...

GMEDWIN |

The mayor says flatly, "To prevent an explosion. The center is deeper in the mountain, partially in the real world and partially in the Bleak Gate, where we are now. I cannot divulge anymore information."

Witchoil does negative energy damage to things and creatures. A person would take more damage than a machine but a machine submerged in it would also take damage.

They made them jaguars and the next kind was to be working on sharks to take care of the sea fey titan. That is all I really know. Our golem was a prototype and we were working on the plans for a really large one but that was put on hold so that they can raise the money, but I really don't know anything else."
She sobs a bit more.
