You hear a large bell being rung and the Half-Giant woman knocks on your door to bring you out for lunch. She then escorts you to the courtyard and you see a large table is set up there, near a sunken pen where Alonsa’s dire bear undergoes battle training against magical summoned monsters.

As the you are being seated, you also see Lya Jierre, Cavallo’s daughter who is introduced as Corta Nariz starts to bring out some of her children (Cavallo’s grandkids), but when he spots his ill grandson Altioro, Cavallo glares and waves them off. Corta notices the guests, has a handservant take Altioro away, then brings the rest of the family. Please give me a Perception and Heal check

John knew it was going to happen. He had seen the way the man looked at the child and knew what that meant too.

He just now realized his mistake.

He had meant his head nod to be not yet and the good doctor had taken it to mean go for it. Communication was still a problem.

putting his hand on Kort's shoulder, John said "Please excuse my companion. He meant no offense to what I am sure are fantastic doctors that serve you. As a man of his profession, he could not simply watch a child in need and not attempt to help. Please don't hold it against him."

"As to why we are here, I would like to be frank with you. both of our groups have requested a boon of the Bruse, and he has commanded that we have a contest to determine who will get the prize that we both seek. This, however, is not what bothers me. I'm sure you can agree that a man must do a day's work to get a day's bread, as the saying goes."

John shakes his head in disappointment and then continues "No, what worries me is that this one's" he gestures at Jierre before continuing "companions are planning on smuggling in a telepath to attempt to control your mind and make you side with their group. It's a amateurish ploy I could have warned them wouldn't work, but alas I believe they still insist on the attempt."

"While we would never claim that your country and ours are friends, such a tactic is beneath those that run Risur. Our goal is simply to persuade you with our words."

Industries, this man looks only about fifty, and has the
verve of a young man, but he jokingly exaggerates his
infirmities. Though on the cutting edge of mechanical
warfare, Pemberton plays up his homely country roots,
speaking slowly in a deep voice and often leaning back
and tucking his thumbs in his belt loops. Yes, you met him at least in the first adventure on the Coaltongue. Shoot, I had to look him up. His company was a major outfitter during the third adventure's arms expo.
Griento says, "Well, that really depends how fast you want to get the job done. We get reimbursed by the government for each mile of track we lay but of course, the key is to have a positive reserve. 100 thousand GP will make sure the supplies and workers get paid on time without delaying due to weather or the government deposits."

I also figure you might be interested in raiding the town of Manhill anyways. The Bruse asked us to convince you to launch a raid on that town in Risur. So what would you be interested in trade to make that happen?"

A Chretien Dufrene, I've been meaning to thank you for saving my life that night on the Coaltongue bout a year and a half ago. Boy o boy..."

Griento looks at Chretien sideways saying, "Senor, you told me your name was Cephas, aren't I correct?"

The big old orc says, "There are a couple of things you could probably do for me to get me to help you. You are from Risur so I would something that can help me a great deal. A particular boon I desires is to have the Risuri archfey of the sea, Beshela, grant her blessing to my ships—both military and merchant. I’ll gladly arrange the appropriate offerings to keep her favor, since normally only a few safe sea lanes are available near the Risuri border. With Beshela’s blessing, my ships could take faster routes without fear of attack by merfey and sea monsters. The other two things are intertwined, I would like you to get my daughter named successor to the Bruse. He currently does not have one and helping her reputation regarding my grandson would also be a great help considering his ill state."

Jierre says, "Well, Admiral, I seem to be at a disadvantage, I am not a doctor but I can definitely have one of Danor's best Doctors teleported here within a day or two if that would help. I can potentially see if I can talk to the Bruse to get her situated and officially made Bruse in waiting. Or maybe I can offer you some big Danoran Steamships."

Griento says, "Rye has the spice I need to perk me up. What I really liked when we were in Drakr was their Pereizhivka but Rye is delicious."

He then turns to Pemberton and says, "Senor Pemberton, you said in your telegram that you hand an amazing thing for me to see."

Pemberton smiles and says first to the barkeep, "Can we have the bottles of Gin and Rye to go."

She gives the bottles to you and then Pemberton signals his assistant and a portal opens and he says, "Come with me."

He peers closely at the child, rotating through his multi-spectacles as he does.

You see Kort follow the Admiral's daughter and he says, "Well, until I see results I really do not owe Risur not Danor anything to be frank. It is definitely a case of Dragon Worm. It is caused by a person drinking contaminated water, dragon worm eggs hatch into the worms, which slowly burrow through the victim’s body over the course of weeks or months. They usually head downward toward feet, but can emerge anywhere, including eyes. The emergence of the worm burns like fire, and victims seek relief by placing the injured body part in water. The worm ejects eggs into the water, continuing its life cycle. The worm can be removed by carefully wrapping its end around a stick and methodically twisting the stick to pull the worm out. This must be done over the course of days to prevent the worm from snapping and decomposing inside the victim’s body. Even when properly treated, the pain prevents many people from attending school or work.

Before you can come up with a cure, you should try to help it spreading throughout the populace, so you need to find its source. Also you need to investigate the infestation because it is important to figure out what kind of a dragon the dragon worm's host was, so I need from you to start a Knowledge Nature and Knowledge Arcana check
