Looks like we'll be solidly high tier for this one, so let that guide your choice of characters Ilmakis and EvilMinion.
Please give the following information for your characters:
1. Player Name (as you want it on your chronicle):
2. Character's Name
3. Class and Level
4. PFS# (and dash)
5. Faction
6. Day job Roll (if any)
And I'd appreciate a heads up about anything wacky with your character, especially if you have any Immediate Actions that we should work out/are playing slow progression etc.
I'm hoping to start this up on Monday, so the sooner I can access your characters via their profile, the better.

1. Player Name: Michael Hallet
2. Character's Name: Flora Mossgreen
3. Class and Level: Kineticist 6
4. PFS# (and dash): 2608-18
5. Faction: Liberty's Edge
6. Day job Roll (if any): Survival (Hunting Lodge): 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (5) + 21 = 26

Player Name: B Viggers
Character Name: Oleander
Class: Ranger-6
PFS: 100387-9
Faction: Silver Crusade
Day job: guide: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Player Name: Florent
Character Name: Nicklod Vassily
Class: Cleric 6
PFS#: 754-7
Faction: Dark Archive
Day job: Profession (Clerk): 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 9 + 2 = 16
@GM Nicklod is a dazing channeler hable to channel both positive and negative energy. Except for that nothing fancy with him.

EvilMinion |
OK, am here!
If it matters, I have played this once before on a different PC ... not sure what 'version' it was, but there were lots of undead.
Lots of dwarves to pick from, but am leaning towards a melee ranger, with an axebeak animal companion.
Though not sure what our class makeup is to know what will work best.

GM Cwethan |

Kineticist (blaster), Ranger (archer), Cleric (Channeler), fire druid (caster), and Rogue (trapster) are the confirmed ones so far - a frontliner seems like it could come in handy.

GM Cwethan |

I'd wager that Narrow Frame should help Fairbeaks enough to make bringing them worthwhile.

1. Player Name (as you want it on your chronicle): Eric
2. Character's Name : Ash
3. Class and Level : lvl 7 druid
4. PFS# (and dash) : 13475 - 8
5. Faction : The Exchange
6. Day job Roll (if any): forgoing to use a boon which gives me 1 prestige back
Only thing that's a bit different about this character is that he pretty much only used spells with the fire descriptor and thanks to the glorious heat feat an ally will get a +1 morale bonus to attack rolls and heal hps equal to spell level each time he cast a spell
..so the most wacky thing about the character is ...his personalty, or rather the person playing him

1. Player Name (as you want it on your chronicle): Doug Edwards
2. Character's Name : Kato Koisumi
3. Class and Level : uRogue 6/Rose Warden 1
4. PFS# (and dash) - 133118-7
5. Faction - Exchange
6. Day job Roll (if any): Perform Opera - via Y8 faction card for 100
Biggest FYI here is that I have trap spotter so I need to be 1st or 2nd rank and I have the Bookish Rogue feat so with 10 minutes rest I can swap out my major or minor magic for others that appear in my spell book which when my profile is up and running I will have listed.
Thanks again for the selection!

GM Cwethan |

Hey guys just a heads up that I'll be pretty sporadic for the next couple of days, especially with anything involving maps.

GM Cwethan |

Hey Nicklod, could you please double check/update your spoilered shorthand stats? I'm almost sure you have more than 18 hp :p

Ear-piercing scream vs undead;
I never thought about this..but; if it indeed has standard undead traits ;Immunity to any effect that requires a Fortitude save (unless the effect also works on objects or is harmless). Target for Ear-piercing scream is: One creature. It seems Theo is right about this one. Seems wrong to me that you can't damage a pile of bones stitched together with flesh with some sonic damage..but the rules do seem to indicate that it doesn't work just cause it's a fort save..unless damage isn't an effect? I don't think I've ever seen a definition of what an effect is..most it seems to refer to conditions..but damage could be an effect I guess

![]() |

I like to think of it as: If it wouldn't work on a wall, it won't work on undead =)
And ear piercing scream is not audible, no one can hear it... being deaf won't stop it... it goes straight for your brain! Kinda like Scanners! =)
So its already different from other 'sonic' type effects.
Shrug.

![]() |

Yah, its a really strange mixed up spell that one.
Don't get me started on when people use admixture type effects to make it fire damage.

![]() |

*shrug* without it, I would have just moved without taking an offensive action so it all kinda washes.

GM Cwethan |

Little Foot's got the right of it, so feel free to adjust your action if you think of something you'd rather do, Kato.
I should get the next combat post up some time today/tomorrow (depending on what time zone you're in).
Sorry this week's been particularly rough. I'm out of town with spottier than expected internet which is making map-work more challenging than I was expecting.
I'll be back late Sunday night, and should be able to keep posting somewhat erratically before then, but sorry for any further delays in advance :/

I'm going to be away for a couple of days. Impromptu camping trip organised by the family. Please bot as required.

GM Cwethan |

An ability that requires a concentration check for many abilities, including (specifically) channeled energy. I'll be happy to go over it after the fight since you're curious.

GM Cwethan |

Yeah that's your concentration. I see you have a +11 written down for your spells, but I'm not seeing any boosts, so by my math you'd have a +9 for yours (+10 for channels since they're charisma based). Can you explain your higher number?

![]() |

In the GM's defense, your profile does list you being lvl 6
And your stat line mentions cha 18, all though later under statics it mentions a 20.
So it's understandable to see why he thought it was +10. All though you did mention concentration as being +11 and that lines up with your listed statistics.

![]() |

I have too much characters! I'm still level 6 with this one :P
Nevertheless, I've not updated my statistic since the level 1. What's good is the details on my character sheet (anyway, even if i will have updated them, I always put my basic statistic, not the one with belt or headband bonuses).
And I like to know when my character roll a dice. Because I had no idea that it was me that had to make a concentration until I realize it. I could have reroll, or an hability/boon giving me the possibility to a reroll.

GM Cwethan |

That's a totally fair request Nicklod. I stand by rolling the first pair of concentration checks, but should have made it clearer that you were rolling them, and that you would be in the future.
(If it helps, the one point difference between your +11 and the +10 I rolled hasn't made any measurable difference.)

![]() |

Many of the fights in this scenario are nasty. I've gone through it four or five times now, and it is typically a seat-of-your-pants ride.

GM Cwethan |

Oh, and as promised, Michiko had a sacrilegious aura that among some other undead buffing things also has this effect: "Any creature that attempts to summon positive energy in this area—such as through a cleric’s channel energy ability, a paladin’s lay on hands, or any spell with the healing subtype—must make a concentration check with a DC equal to 10 + 1/2 the graveknight’s Hit Dice + the graveknight’s Charisma modifier. If the character fails, the effect is expended but does not function."

![]() |

Many thanks Cwethan, I had a great time....now if only I could get Tyranny of the Winds pt 3 onto this guy before he hits 8...

GM Cwethan |

Okay, since it seems like everyone's got their chronicles, I'm gonna go ahead and deactivate the campaign. If there's anything else I can help with, just go ahead and PM me!
