He means in the main thread, since you didn't say anything, you were put into the Bandit fighting group. If you'd prefer to go Kobolds that's fine, just say something to the rest of the group so we can either delay fighting the bandits like Trips feels we should, or reorganize.

Gobbo!

What will said. They reshuffled the groups and it wound up being:

So Bandits group contains: Will, Hadin, Brom, Karse, and Dend and the Kobolds group is: Rufus, Winifred, Theod, Cappi, Castor. Seems pretty well balanced just in case the Kobolds get uppity.

M Elf (Falconer) Ranger 2 (Per: +9/(11 Human) Init:+4, HP 19/19 AC: 18//14/14 F: +4 R: +7 W: +2/4 vs enchantment)

Ah. I have not been reading that group as we were not back together yet. Last I read I was trying to heal Will up from being ravaged by a spider. How are we suddenly all back together?

Gobbo!

I think you might have skipped over the post on accident, as you did follow it with two further posts that give me the impression you were still handling the spider encounter outcome.

"Moving on for the sake of expediency...

The party gathers the treasure from the spider's haunt and begins the remaining journey back to Oleg's. After another day of travel they find themselves once again greeted by the welcome and familiar site of the trading post. The landscape has changed somewhat since your last departure, as you now see a fair sized gathering of cut timber and rough stone beginning to form not too far into the distance, an obvious sign of new construction in the area."

M Elf (Falconer) Ranger 2 (Per: +9/(11 Human) Init:+4, HP 19/19 AC: 18//14/14 F: +4 R: +7 W: +2/4 vs enchantment)

Ah, So now I have 300+ messages to catch up on. Den will happily choose to fight bandits over kobolds but will reiterate that it would be better to have a truce with the kobolds than an fight, if that is possible.

I'll get to reading.

Male Human (Kellid/Varisian) Cavalier (Standard Bearer)/Skald 4/1 [ HP: 38/38 | AC: 15 T: 12 FF: 14 | F: +7 R: +2 W: +3/+4 | Init: +1 Perc: -1 | Effects: Raging Song (Inspired Rage)]

Ok guys, Real Life (TM) just hit me hard. I have a family emergency which I seem to be the only effective adult for, so I suspect it is going to be several days to a week before I am in a position to post again. Captain, please 'bot' me as needed until I post I'm back.

Male Human (Kellid/Varisian) Cavalier (Standard Bearer)/Skald 4/1 [ HP: 38/38 | AC: 15 T: 12 FF: 14 | F: +7 R: +2 W: +3/+4 | Init: +1 Perc: -1 | Effects: Raging Song (Inspired Rage)]

I would like to say the drama is over, but the truth is it is simply at an abeyance. I am however, back. Ready when you are Captain!

Male Human (Kellid/Varisian) Cavalier (Standard Bearer)/Skald 4/1 [ HP: 38/38 | AC: 15 T: 12 FF: 14 | F: +7 R: +2 W: +3/+4 | Init: +1 Perc: -1 | Effects: Raging Song (Inspired Rage)]

As the dagger is only Masterwork rather than magical & the Captain didn't indicate the size it was crafted for it is likely a Medium sized dagger, which would impose a size penalty for you Cappi. Probably better off to simply sell it.

Male Halfling 2 Rogue (Filcher) | AC:18, T:15, FF:14 | Init: +4, Per: +6 | HP: 16/16, Fort: +2, Ref: +8, Will: +0 | BAB: +1, CMB: +1, CMD: 15

Ahh, good point. I forget about the size restrictions/penalties. Thanks for the heads up.

Gobbo!

Stupid medium sized weapons! :)

Male Halfling 2 Rogue (Filcher) | AC:18, T:15, FF:14 | Init: +4, Per: +6 | HP: 16/16, Fort: +2, Ref: +8, Will: +0 | BAB: +1, CMB: +1, CMD: 15

Indeed, but no worries. Smaller creatures make the best weapons, attention to detail and all, so I wouldn't want that one anyway ;)

Male Human Ranger 2 | AC 14 T 12 FF 12 | HP 20/20 | F +5 R +5 W +1 | Init +4 | Perc +6

All sorry for the delay. Some craziness going on in the real world has kept me away from the PC.

Not to go into too much detail but I got laid off from work and have been scrambling to get everything in order and look for a new job. In addition I got extremely sick and paid a visit to the ER. Today is the first day I'm starting to feel a bit back to normal.

I apologize for the delay and really want to continue things but for the foreseable future my posting may be a bit eradict until I get my life back in order. I will try my best to at least post every other day but I wanted to let you all know what is going on in case I go missing for a little bit longer. If you need to move on without me I understand and will hopefully catch you all in other games in the future.

Gobbo!

I apologize for my absence since Thursday. I had to deal with a service outage late Thursday night and into the next morning and it blew my free time out of the water. I'm going to try to get caught up this morning but I'm still dealing with some fallout here at work.

Male Human (Kellid/Varisian) Cavalier (Standard Bearer)/Skald 4/1 [ HP: 38/38 | AC: 15 T: 12 FF: 14 | F: +7 R: +2 W: +3/+4 | Init: +1 Perc: -1 | Effects: Raging Song (Inspired Rage)]

I believe I was waiting on someone to either attempt a Knowledge (Nature) check or for us to determine that no one had ranks in it. I will make a gameplay post in a bit.

Gobbo!

Correct, or to continue with questions or decide if you will aid them or not. I assume anyone with an appropriate skill that is named when I make a "Call out" will take it upon themselves to use the skill if they have it.

Gobbo!

I'm going to be trimming down the groups over the holidays. Post counts have dropped for some to an unacceptable level. I was clear in my recruitment post that I expect daily activity unless I am notified of a circumstance that would prevent a player from posting. We are making very slow progress and I find myself constantly waiting for a response from the group. I understand we all get busy, and the holiday season is no exception, but I also feel like some folks are wanting to move faster while others are not towing the line, thus slowing the play for everyone.

If you have lost interest in the adventure please let me know, and I'll remove you from the active roster. Otherwise I will take this weekend to sort out the last few weeks of posting and make a decision on my own. On Monday the ten remaining players will be combined into a six man group and we will proceed as a standard PbP would unless I am given a very good reason to continue our current arrangement.

I'm not trying to be harsh here, but I think we are all aware that a number of people are not making it a point to keep up with their posts.

Male Half-Elf Cleric/Ranger(Guide) 1

Duly noted, Captain.

Female Aasimar Peri-blooded Enlightened Paladin / Kensai Magus 1

Noted as well, I will say that I have had less time to post recently however due to getting a job at Walmart.

I have not lost interest, but I would understand if I was taken off so that things could move quicker.

Male Halfling 2 Rogue (Filcher) | AC:18, T:15, FF:14 | Init: +4, Per: +6 | HP: 16/16, Fort: +2, Ref: +8, Will: +0 | BAB: +1, CMB: +1, CMD: 15

I'm one of those that has slowed down their posting, but I would like to remain and step up to a greater capacity. Cappi would like to keep going ;)

Male Human (Kellid/Varisian) Cavalier (Standard Bearer)/Skald 4/1 [ HP: 38/38 | AC: 15 T: 12 FF: 14 | F: +7 R: +2 W: +3/+4 | Init: +1 Perc: -1 | Effects: Raging Song (Inspired Rage)]

The Shaman was not the Chief?!
That bears further investigation...
Later.
Holding off on further comments until Cappi has a chance to respond.

Silver Crusade

Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends! Bountiful harvest to the rest of you! And of course, Happy Hanukkah if it applies.

Gobbo!

I want to bring everyone up to speed on the decision to trim down the group to a 6 man party. In some examples it was a fairly easy process, as a few people have a post count less than 1/3 of most of the players, which is really sad. In other cases the decision was a little less easy, as I had to take into consideration the health of the group after the loss of specific members. Needless to say, everyone picked up their activity for the most part after I made my post. This told me that the interest in playing was still there, but that it would take me driving it constantly to keep it going, which I've said on a number of occasions that I do not want to do. I facilitate a story, the players drive it.

Know that I have grown fond of each of you, so this is not something I do lightly. I've been happy to see each any every character interact with each other and have enjoyed more than a few chuckles at some of the things that have happened. I wish I could keep everyone, but for the sake of those players dedicated to the game I feel I owe them a chance to see Kingmaker actually completed, and the pace we are setting right now is about 1 book per year. That obviously is far too slow.

I've made my choices, and as the adventure this week goes on they will become obvious. I'm not summarily excusing 4 people from the game, rather, your character will go out with a bang and leave an impression on the remaining members that will likely echo for a long time.

More to come.

Holy Cow! Poor Walter...

Gobbo!

That movie is so horrible :)

Male Half-Elf Cleric/Ranger(Guide) 1

Welp... that was pretty unceremonious. o.o

I know! It's great!

From Rufus' post I'm going to assume you are entering the hole. I didn't see anyone specifically state that, but onward we go.

Oops, sorry about that. Yes, that was the intent, I will try to make that more clear in the future.

Gobbo!

Folks, I'm otherwise detained today at work, can't properly post. I'll post tonight.

Gobbo!

I'm sorry I've been out of the loop the past two days. I've had some work stuff crop up that has kept me swamped. I'm also headed out this morning to run our PFS special Siege of the Diamond City, so I'm not due home until late tonight. I'll try to catch up in the morning. Again, I apologize!

No worries at all. I'm unavailable on weekends anyway, so it gave me a chance to catch up too.

M Elf (Falconer) Ranger 2 (Per: +9/(11 Human) Init:+4, HP 19/19 AC: 18//14/14 F: +4 R: +7 W: +2/4 vs enchantment)

Lurking here. I have to chime in about this. As crazy as it sounds, I have been in this situation IRL. Two friends and I were in a cave I had been in a half dozen times. It was 2 miles from the road where we parked the car. We had explored a new area of the cave requiring us to crawl up a steep slope that converged nearly onto the ceiling. It was so tight to crawl through that it was a challenge for even the smallest of the three of us to make it. Once through we found ourselves at the top of a bowl like formation maybe 20' across and almost as deep. At the bottom there was a hole that let out onto the side of a wall with a floor another 20+ feet down. Two of us had climbed down the bowl and onto the wall free climbing nearly to the floor almost 40' below when we realized it was going to be be harder to climb back up than it was getting down. We had to send the third person back through the squeeze and back all the way to the car to get our rope. He came back and tied the rope off. He then easily climbed down and we had a great time exploring a new area of what we thought was an completely explored cave.

The moral of the story is that the rope does no one any good in the car (or on the horse). Anyone else do any caving?

Gobbo!

Sorry folks, I've been swept up in the wrap up from this week's project at work and last minute frantic shopping. My posting will catch up on Monday. I do apologize.

You are waiting for me, but I'll need a bit more time for the next post. Probably late tonight or in the morning.

Good to know.

Today is going to be my Christmas with my son, so I won't be making a gameplay post until tomorrow. Should post sometime early-ish tomorrow afternoon.
