Eamon Valda |
Name:Lucklesshero
Character Name and levels: Eamon Valda (Lv. 2 Cleric 1/Fighter 1)
PFS id:184087-7

Edmund DeCarth |

Character Name: Edmund DeCarth- Inquisitor 2
PFS ID- 273096-1 (XP 3, Fame 6)
Faction: Silver Crusade
Day Job: None
GM: Since the last time you met Edmund, he has gone through a little bit of a refacing. In order to better fit with his background, I flipped around his archetypes (Replaced Infiltrator with Sacred Huntsmaster). Doing so, some of his social skills changed and he gained an animal companion. He is now level 2, so this game will lock him into these changes.
Kissan (Jaguar, Big Cat)
Feats: Weapon Finesse, Armor Light
Chain Shirt (Mst)
Tricks: Attack, defend, down, guard, heel, stay, track

Hey everybody! We're still waiting for one more player to check in (lvl 3), but with that said I do have some help I need. The circumstances in my other table finds the players in high tier (4 player adjustment) but some of the lower level (1 and 2s) are likely not comfortable with going upwards being squishy and all that.
My current thoughts is to move the two higher level players to this table (lvl 3 and 5) and the two most squishy characters from this to the other table. Meaning two level 2 players from this table will be playing up.
table 1 low tier [ 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2]
Table 2 high tier (4 player adj) [ 5, 3, 3, 3, 2, 2 ]
Anyone violently object to this idea?

Nope. I have no problem playing up- especially as a ranged character with an animal companion that matches my AC and HP totals
Eamon Valda |
Eamon can play up or down..you can move me to the lower tier..or I can stay here and play high...I'll refrain from doting the game thread until you contact me back and let me know your decision GM
GM Batpony |
The simplest balancing movements would be the following. If anyone takes any objections to it, please let me know.
Would Amazing Red/Peter (Empiricist 5)and Alexis "The Odd" Trismegistis (3rd-level True Silvered Throne of the Esoteric Order of the Palatine Eye) be kind enough to move/check in to table 2?Over here!
And Frostwind (Tinkerer 2) and Bielsi (spiritualist 2) be kind enough to move/check in to table 1?Over here!
Eamon Valda |
OK looks like Eamon is staying here...I'll go ahead and dot.

Kissan the Jag |
GM: How do you want to run Kissan?
Should I add her to the initiative order, or just run her on my roll?
Also, I have had some GM's clarify that a small/medium cat (height < 1 meter off the ground) wouldn't cause a +4 soft cover bonus like another medium character would- instead applying the rules for a low wall (only counts as cover if the AC is closer to the enemy than the player).
What level of control do you want over her actions. I have have GM's want full control over AC, and others leave it all to the players.
Thanks!

@DM: Be sure to let me know whenever it's night and I can see the open sky. I benefit pretty substantially when I can see my Guiding Star.

I'm normally with the players taking control of their companions actions, of course within reasonable course. Should you do anything unrealistic i'll call you out on it.
Also, I find it simpler to run it with the player's initiative, so my preference is for your companion to run off your initiative.
Hope this clears it up!

Heads up, there's an unplanned work trip to site I'll need to make next week, Tuesday to Friday. While there is internet, I won't be sure if I will have time. Updates will be scarce to none during this time. Sorry guys :(
Edmund DeCarth |
Looking at it, I don't think we have a true "front of the line" type in this group. I can always stick Kissan upfront if we have to.
Alexis "The Odd" Trismegistis |
I've taken the liberty of transposing Iddo and I in the lineup - if for no better reason than "I'm f~&!in' slow."
Edmund DeCarth |
In another pbp game that I am currently in, I was made aware of an app called "google slides" that lets you use/manipulate all the google documents from your phone.
No more having to ask other people to move my character when mobile!
GM Batpony |
I use the google slides app, while I have trouble moving my tokens, I do them by resizing them into the appropriate position each time!

Hey! Extremely sorry for my sudden disappearance, I went on a trip around the country with my school to learn about the Holocaust from Sunday until now and couldn't bring myself to use the phone. I'll try to catch up while digesting everything I've learned this past week and post something substantial tomorrow.

Well, that narrows down where you're from! I know that's a required pilgrimage of sorts in Germany...but is it anywhere else? What about Austria? Poland? Hungary? The former Czechoslovakia?
May I ask what it's actually like as a student? On the one hand, it's supposed to be dead-serious, but on the other hand, having been a schoolchild on a long bus-trip a few times myself, I know there are inevitably limits to the sustainability of a somber mood in such an environment.
I know it seems like an awkward-sounding thing to say "cool" about, but getting to talk to and learn about other countries has always been my favorite thing about the Internet (other than that feature, my view of it has gradually been drawn more to the skeptical/critical end - Kurt Vonnegut and Ray Bradbury both hated the Internet, and I'm starting to figure out why).
Iddo Blackstone |
My country is in fact Israel. Since Israel renewed political ties with Poland when the Soviet Union fell, a tradition started where Israeli schools send 12th-graders to Poland to learn about the Holocaust by visiting various Ghettos, concentration camps, and death camps (a new bill recently passed in Poland forbids blaming Poland for any crimes committed during the Holocaust, which might change this tradition, but I dunno).
My school specifically doesn't send these delegations, because pretty much everywhere they boil down to forcing students to feel sad (and sometimes hate the Polish) without actually learning much about the Holocaust. Instead, we go visit museums and memorials around Israel, meet Holocaust survivors and attend lectures about various less-often-discussed facets of the Holocaust (for example, the Catholic Church during the Holocaust or depictions of the Holocaust in Israeli and foreign cinema), which allows us to actually study and understand and not just get into a grim mood. It is still mentally straining, especially for young or sensitive people like myself, but my school makes an important point of allowing us to feel however we want; we can say we enjoyed a lecture or some other event, which would be a sin in a Poland delegation because you have to feel terrible, and we even went to one comedic play that makes a very important point that maybe we as the Jewish nation are abusing the memory of the Holocaust, gradually forgetting what it actually was.
Overall, this journey was less about how we're supposed to feel about the Holocaust and more about what we can learn about it and from it, which I greatly appreciate. Thanks for showing interest!

OK people, so I'm about fed up with this priestess giving us nothing..Eamon has dumped everything he's speculated and still she says 'duh" I don't know what to say to her anymore other than share the exact details of our visions. This is clearly a railroad that if we don't stay of the exact track "IE say exactly what we need to say to this priestess" ...if we don't say the "keyword" or reveal the key item..we'll get nowhere. (Gosh it's like playing the old puzzle games mist sometimes. ie. pull this lever left then right turn the knob 3/4 of a turn ect..Game designers think they're clever but don't write enough narrative to let you figure out their clever little puzzle unless you do it in the order they deem.) Anyway, I'm getting frustrated. So if the priestess is still lips shut.. let's go back to
Obahar (A.K.A Mr exposition)to report your findings. Perhaps that will get us back on track.
GM Batpony |
You've probably hit the nail on the head with regards to the scenario's complexity. It is designed that even if you do not pick up the keywords/points you'll be lead to the right track somehow.
Though think of the priestess like a nun, they do not know what happens beyond this place save for things told to them. Well lucky for Eamon he did hit a keyword.
FYI, the other group had a similar struggle though they just concluded that this place was a dead end and moved on.
Alani Fox |
You know I loved myst, riven and exile, the only problem they had was discerning which information was right, and then havi g to remember it exactly.
Though as a side note Alani will be changing to the Concordance with the new faction emerging as part of the freetransfer

I know it easter weekend just ended, so another 12 hours and i'll move us on based on Eamon's post if no one else chimes in.
Edmund DeCarth |
FYI: I am going to be travelling from now until April 15th. I will have a computer and some internet, but I doubt I will be able to post more than once a day. I will do my best to make sure that I giving detailed instructions/ideas so that everyone isn't waiting around for me all the time.
Eamon Valda |
