Hi everyone!
We still have about a week to go before we can start, but now that we have six I'll start determining who's playing which characters. I'll get character sheets to you over the course of the week.
Deraev has requested a simple character. I'll be randomly selecting between the three less complicated options for him, then determining the rest by rolling a dX, and selecting the player alphabetically in that spot.
Capricornus
d'Eon
Oykiv
Tarondor
ZD
Deraev: 1d3 ⇒ 2
L: 1d5 ⇒ 1
X: 1d4 ⇒ 1
P: 1d3 ⇒ 2
Ar: 1d2 ⇒ 1
That gives us the following cast of characters.

Yes. You can still use pregen resources to help resolve those conditions, but at this tier you're still on the hook for 2000 gp of costs yourself. As long as you don't catastrophically fail the scenario, the chronicle should offset those costs.
Links to pregen sheets should arrive as PMs tomorrow.
Weirdly it looks like the die rolls don't match the way they previewed when I was writing the assignment post. I suppose as Paizo forum weirdness goes it's fairly harmless.
GM Lari |
Everyone should now have a link to their pregen. Please review their stats and background, and let me know if you have any questions.
You should transfer this information to a Paizo profile, and make sure it has a headline with your vital details (HP, Saves, etc.), that you keep updated over the course of play.
Slayer Pregen |
Ok so I need some advice on purchases.
My guy is a slayer with talents and fears focused around archery and poison mostly. He has no wand of clw or infernal healing and is not trained in use magic device. He does have 2 potions of cure moderate wounds and some poisons is all.
He has 600 gold to spend. I'm thinking about buying the following:
2x potion cure light wounds
Potion magic fang
Potion enlarge person
Potion remove fear
Potion protection from good
Potion comprehend languages
Potion obscuring mist
Anti plague
Antitoxin
Alchemists fire
Tanglefoot bag
Smoke stick
Acid
Any feedback on that list? Anything useless by level 7? Something important I am missing? Maybe scrolls? Weapon blanches?
The profesional |
Can be have an update telling us if we're allowed to do more actions, who are still pending to post, etc.
Not complaining, but this format make hard to be sure if I'm waiting for someone, or everybody is waiting for me to post.
Z..D.. Pregen |
May not be able to post as much as I like this weekend coming up. My anniversary with my wife is this weekend.

A heads-up/FYI: Now that we've had clarification on policies for special scenarios, it looks like tables of Serpent's Ire, the follow-up to this, are officially beginning on October 12th. I don't think we'll be done by then. That said, there's nothing stopping you from playing them both simultaneously, though there may be spoilers (I haven't played or read Ire, so I can't say for sure). I'm not planning on running Serpent's Ire until I've had a chance to play, either in person or as part of the Gameday.
In the interests of getting things to move along, unless there are any ongoing situations, we'll be entering Skyreach either Sunday night or Monday, depending on my availability.
This is your final reminder to review the notes from your patrons and make sure you've accomplished everything you need to do during this phase.
Slayer Pregen |
I am planning to play Ire starting Oct 12, and there apparently is something for that scenario if you play Marnarius. So I was hoping to be able to put them both on the same character.
If it's possible to finish in time for that, or even within a day or two maybe, I would vote for that.
I'll try to not slow us down anymore too if that helps. :)
GM Lari |
That comment was not directed at anyone in particular, but as a general reminder. Some people have tasks that can only be completed in Skyreach, some that can only be completed on the grounds, and some that can be done in either location. If you think you've done what you need to do, you're probably fine.
Quick update/clarification on Serpent's Ire: At this point it looks like I will GM a PBP table of it at some point, but not starting on October 12. As such, it won't be part of the gameday, but that just means it's not going to be eligible for boons. As before, you're certainly fine to play in a different game, but you're also welcome to continue on with me when I'm ready to run it.
In the interest of moving along at a healthy speed here, I have a couple ideas for streamlining combat going forward.
While I generally try to keep initiative by the book in PBP, or at least close to it, one method other GMs have used is taking the average party initative and average enemy initiative, and using it so that the party and the enemy each act on a single initiative count. Would anyone object to that system?
One other possible tool would be for each of you to pick a "bot buddy." While I'm OK to bot you if you're holding things back, if you like you can give one of your fellow party members that right as well, so the party retains more control over the combat. If you think your buddy is taking too long to post, you can act on their behalf. Thoughts on that system?

Oh yeah, my chronicle is going to
Rerois Mottied
61375-2
Dark Archive
And happy news, scenario specific pregens don't require you to pay out of your character's pocket if they die anymore! Which is great, since I'm putting this on a level 1 and was nowhere near the required gold if Joliryn went down.

Boon Rolls
GM: 1d20 ⇒ 19
322: 1d20 ⇒ 4
Joliryn: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Marnarius: 1d20 ⇒ 4
Rataji: 1d20 ⇒ 15
Shohiraj: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Nobody's a winner, sorry!
I know this took longer than expected, partially due to one exceptionally long combat, partially due to response times on my part, but I hope you all had a good time. Reporting and chronicles might not get out until Monday.
GM Lari |
Chronicles are here. Let me know if anything looks off.
Shohiraj is a pretty solid pregen from a character build standpoint, but this format probably made it harder to do some of the coordination she needs to really shine.
