Remington Intrepid Pike |

So I hate to even bring this up because of how it sounds, but I'm not planning on using Remington again after this adventure AND he's patterned after a Fever historical figure AND he uses a sword...
But he's not the kind of guy who's going to ask for an artifact and/or a position of leadership (although he won't shy away from it). And I'm also completely fine if the adventure or other PC's plans take things in a different direction.

Aurora Goodberry |

Yeah, Remington sounds like a good choice. I was thinking of Aurora's mother, if we couldn't think of anyone else, but it being one of us feels more organic.

Well, if everyone agrees but Remington wouldn't do it automatically in character, I do have an idea for pushing him to take up the sword.
"Oops! Did someone drop this? Whoa, what's happening?!"
(I'm really good at this, guys.)

Cerise, the Sparkle Princess |

Look, I'm only chucking the sword at someone if I get to dive into a body of water first. o wo It's traditional.

Cerise, the Sparkle Princess |

Right? XD You can expect to wield supreme executive power if a watery tart throws a sword at you.

Cerise, the Sparkle Princess |

Well, if he gets married and has a kid, there will be another princess.
And there's only room for one princess in this town. *Western gunfight music starts playing*

I lied. I don't need a lake, but heck if I'm not chucking the sword at someone. XD

Jim Seeker |

Depending on how long it's been since the safe house, I may still have a buff up.
I think it lasts for 5 hours.

Jim Seeker |

Wait I thought it was *our* car.
Was I mistaken?
The way I see it, none of us have a way to see invisiblity as far as I know, so this guy's getting away no matter what. I can try to track him with Survival, assuming he uses his feet to get around, but that probably won't get us anything. I think we just need to:
1) survive the encounter
2) get the heck out of Dodge
#2 will be more difficult if Aurora kills Nurai's car.

JonGarrett |

I seem to recall it's Valda's car. In which case you'd all know that she wouldn't mind it being written off to save a life - she'd just rebuild it in a bigger, badder, more magitech fashion - but you certainly won't drive away anything with a broken engine.
Also, it might explode. Valda probably puts nitrous oxide in her cars.

Nurai Ayaulymkyzy |

The car is Valda's, as Nurai told Jim back at the sister's house when he put his feet on the dash. Valda gave Nurai the keys to one of her vehicles as Nurai only has her a motorcycle with sidecar in Fever which is not big enough to carry everyone without breaking a few laws and probably a few people's preferred personal space.
Nurai could use open to slam a door at the perpetrator to knock him off balance and use ghost wolf and/or evolution surge. Wind Wall might also work, I'm still deciding what's most effective.

Aurora Goodberry |

I don't know if he's invisible, although he may, and my armor most likely isn't versatile enough to give me see invisibility (if it is, I'll be happy). I'll need two rounds at least to assault him from the sky, so... I have precious few ideas, myself, other than throwing a spear through the window. Then if we want to go away, I can take another person to fly with me.
We're being observed, so sneaking seems pretty hard, and honestly I was sort of waiting to see if something nice would happen with Remington and the Sword.

Remington Intrepid Pike |

Also, it might explode. Valda probably puts nitrous oxide in her cars.
That seems pretty on-brand for her.
Anyway, Remington doesn't believe that there are snipers, since why would this guy even engage them to begin with? His dwarf friend was a shoot-first kind of guy, so it's very possible this guy would be fine with that tactic also. I'm a little thrown off by simultaneous plans of action: Jim's bluffing and everyone else's negotiating.
Remington's more than ready to attack.

Jim Seeker |

Yeah I thought a bluff might be worth a stab, but not many people picked up on that whole thing. Killing my groove. But that's okay! I'm sure it'll all work out one way or another.

Overlord Jon |

What is with the PM system? Between half of them not being sent and no notifications popping up for the recipient...
Anyway, the King Of Fever is basically a retooled version of the Green Warden template. Enjoy.
Senses: A King gains the scent universal ability and tremorsense +100 ft.
Armor Class: Natural armor bonus improves by +2.
Defensive Abilities: A King gains DR 10/slashing, fire resistance 10, and regeneration 5 (fire or cold).
Spell-like Abilities: The King gains the following spell-like abilities. The caster level equals the green warden’s racial HD. The save DCs are Charisma-based.
At Will: Blessings of the Watch, Ears of the City, Illusory Crowd, Urban Grace
Once Per Day: Find the Path, Urban Step, Whispering Lore
Abilities: Str +4, Dex +2, Con +2, Wis +4, Cha +6
Speed: The King’s land speed increases by +10 feet over that of the base creature. If the base creature has no land speed, the green warden gains a land speed of 15 feet.
Skills: A King gains a +10 racial bonus on Knowledge (nature), Perception, and Survival checks. Knowledge (local) and Knowledge (geography) are always a class skill for the character and can be used untrained.
Favored Terrain (Ex)
The environment of Fever and it's enviroments is considered favored terrain (as the Ranger ability) for thKing. If the green warden has ranger levels, this stacks with similar favored terrains chosen by this ability, and can raise them above the level limit. The King cannot leave Fever beyond 1 mile, nor can they be forced off this plane.
Trackless Step (Ex)
A King leaves no trail within the bounds of Fever and cannot be tracked. It may, however, choose to leave a trail if it desires.
The Sword of Fever (Ex)
The Sword of Fever is a +1 Keen Vorpal weapon that assumes the shape of any weapon most suited to it's holder. Even if that weapon would normally not allow those abilities. The sword will instantly appear in the wielder's hand so long as they are within Fever as a free action.

Remington Intrepid Pike |

That is all awesome. I will get Remington updated ASAP.
What is with the PM system? Between half of them not being sent and no notifications popping up for the recipient...
Technology, AMIRITE?!
regeneration 5
First off, that's awesome. As a construct that can't heal, I was expecting Remington to "die" at some point this adventure, discorporating into a puddle of paint, with only his borrowed pistol, ancient flip phone, and a debit card clattering to the ground.
A King gains a +10 racial bonus on Knowledge (nature)
Is this intended, or is this a holdover from the Green Warden template?

Remington Intrepid Pike |

Remington Intrepid Pike |

Yes, I'm sorry. I figured as much. Work and life stuff are crazy. Quick questions:
The Sword of Fever (Ex)
The Sword of Fever is a +1 Keen Vorpal weapon that assumes the shape of any weapon most suited to it's holder. Even if that weapon would normally not allow those abilities. The sword will instantly appear in the wielder's hand so long as they are within Fever as a free action.
I'm assuming that the Sword is not +1 because we're using Automatic Bonus Progression, correct? Also, base damage is as the weapon it takes, so in this case, a rapier. Correct?

Jim Seeker |

this time at Aurora and Jim
[dice=To Hit (Jim)]1d20+12
[dice=Damage]1d12+4
Just want to confirm they're shooting at Jim while he's invisible?

Jim Seeker |

So I posted as using the fire chief's rifle, but I don't really remember(/know?) the stats on that thing, so I rolled as though I was using my assault rifle.
If it's going to be much worse than that, I might as well use my actual assault rifle *shrug*.

Remington Intrepid Pike |

Jon, if Remington were to target "the closest Fever wardstone," would find the path be able to lead us to it? Or is that not prominent/specific enough?

Jim Seeker |

"Goodberry Demolitions at your service, Your Majesty." With a flourish, Aurora picks the spear clean of the body and sets to work on the car with the adamantine blade. Quite likely, nobody will be able to use a vehicle without a drive shaft. Or wheels. Or a gasoline reservoir.
RIP Valda's car.

Remington Intrepid Pike |

Sorry for the slow posting. Lots of stuff going on, not the least of which was hosting my and my wife's family for American Thanksgiving this year.
Hey, so do we have any reason to believe that this invisible guy is also under a geas?
I don't particularly want to hang on to him; anybody else?

JonGarrett |

OK, to buy myself some time while my eye heals (I'm not supposed to be using screened devices too much...shhhhhh...) I shall mention that we are approaching the end of this section, bar one or two small plot threads to be tugged. I imagine that will take a week or two at most, but there may be some delays due to my personal issues.
So, two things. First, you will be levelling up. If you want to make a new character for the next game, or bring back one you've already used, both are fine as usual. Otherwise you'll just get more power.
Second, if you would like to explore a character's personal plot, send me a PM. I can't promise I'll include it, or that the story I weave it into will get chosen ('cos I'm not gonna make it clear which it is) but the potential will be there.
