DM Forgedawn |

There's been dragons here since long as I remember. Little Jimmy down the street got too close to a red one. Never saw him again.
This is a campaign about a world where dragons are common. Everybody is associated with dragons, whether they be riders or slayers.
4d6 drop lowest or 20 point buy.
No occult or technology classes.
15 rp or lower races.
Start at level 3.
Start with 1 mythic rank.
No variant multiclassing.
No background skills.
Everybody chooses a type of dragon. You get to choose if you are a slayer or rider.
Slayers get favored enemy bonuses against their type of chosen dragon with their total level being treated as their ranger level.
Riders get an egg corresponding to the type of dragon they chose.

Interesting.
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 6, 5) = 18=17
4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 6, 2) = 16=14
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 2, 2) = 15=13
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 4, 5) = 14=13
4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 4, 3) = 14=11
4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 6, 4) = 19=15
Very interesting. How long are you planning for this to run? All the way up, a comparatively short-term game, something in the middle?

Loup Blanc |

This seems neat, and I like rolling dice.
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (4, 1, 4, 1) - 1 = 9
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (5, 1, 6, 4) - 1 = 15
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (6, 2, 1, 1) - 1 = 9
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (3, 2, 4, 6) - 2 = 13
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (2, 4, 3, 6) - 2 = 13
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (2, 3, 2, 5) - 2 = 10
15, 14, 14, 10, 9, 9. A wonderfully lackluster 15 point-buy. I'll think on doing something with the twenty.

4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 3, 5) = 13 11
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 5, 5) = 16 14
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 1, 4) = 13 12
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 1, 4) = 16 15
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 4, 3) = 16 13
4d6: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 6, 3) = 18 15
I'm thinking a rider. Not sure what type yet.
If a cavalier is made at what point does the dragon become his mount?

![]() |

I love dragons, got to go rider.
Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 1, 4) = 1211
Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 5) = 1211
Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 3, 2) = 1412
Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4, 1) = 1514
Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 2, 4) = 1110
Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 5, 1) = 1514
14 point buy...I think I'll go with the 20 point. I'm thinking some kind of druid.

JAF0 |

This looks interesting.. will roll dice and such when I'm not on my phone... Actually, as fun as this sounds, I think I'm gonna have to bow out before even rolling... my slate is kinda full and I can't really take on anything new right now.. have fun all!

Amergin the Wise |

4d6 - 2 ⇒ (2, 5, 4, 3) - 2 = 12
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (5, 6, 1, 6) - 1 = 17
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (5, 6, 2, 6) - 2 = 17
4d6 - 3 ⇒ (6, 4, 3, 6) - 3 = 16
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (3, 4, 1, 1) - 1 = 8
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (6, 2, 6, 6) - 2 = 18
I think that I'll keep the rolls!
Been playing D&D for twenty five years, and I have yet to ride a dragon. I know. Terrible!

GM_Panic |

O I like this idea
Color my interested and building, let the dice gods speak...
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 2, 4) = 10
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 4, 2) = 18
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 6, 6) = 18
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 1, 5) = 17
4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 1, 2) = 8
4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 6, 4) = 17
[17/16/16/14/9/7]
= 34 point buy, Well that's a keeper even with 7 and 9.
Race: Tiefling
Type: Dragon Rider
Dragon: Outer Dragon, Vortex [LN] [Bestiary 4]

avr |

I'm betting you'll get a lot more dragon riders than slayers applying. Therefore, I'll give a dragon slayer a shot. Which sounds really dangerous BTW for a 3rd level character, even with a mythic rank.
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 5, 3) = 12 : 10
4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 1, 1) = 7 : 6
4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 6, 6) = 17 : 15
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 5, 6) = 20 : 16
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 5, 5) = 13 : 12
4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 1, 4) = 12 : 11
Clearly the cause of his dragon slayer-ness was pure jealousy of the luckier dragon riders with their better stats.

Amergin the Wise |

Born of the blood of dragons, Brynjar was raised by gold dragons, and fated to ever stand at their side. A proud paladin, the shining knight is the epitome of everything that is good - or so he believes.
Race: human
Class: level 3 paladin (shining knight)
Traits: omen, magical knack, blood of dragons (low light vision)
Drawbacks: proud
Dexterity 12
Constitution 17
Intelligence 16
Wisdom 8
Charsima 17
Handle Animal 11
Knowledge (religion) 9
Ride 7
Intimidate 12
Handle animal (?) 11
Other details to come, if and when!
Do you have a setting in mind? Any information that can serve to flesh out a background?

GM_Panic |

I will be using this ALT as my PC,
Marchog Linli De Rezuss My idea is, he and his Dragon are a LN team, who are not Dragon slayers but bounty Hunters, tracking down the lawless and law brakes who have a bounty on them. All legal like.

23 point buy, not bad :)
Going Cavalier possibly...
Dragon Rider Silver Dragon

Not terrible. Might take it or the 20, don't normally like dump stats but I'll see what j can do.
Would you allow the 3pp class dragon Rider? And is evil (LE) allowed?

![]() |

Dot for Draconic interest, what Dragon's are we limited to? Or can we have any type of dragon? And any ruling on 3pp?
4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 1, 6) = 14 13
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 3, 1) = 9 8

4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4, 5) = 11 10
Oh my goodness I have the worst luck ever.

GM_Panic |

Evil isn't allowed. Riders often are good, and work with slayers to hunt evil dragons. The people I select will work together.
Also, no 3pp dragon rider.
Dose that mean Riders 'have' to be good to get in, and only good dragons for riders.
My PC is lawful not good or bad, he hunts down bad Dragons as a day job.

Human Unchained Rogue I'm assuming no chromatic dragons. So probably silver.

![]() |

Well if I'm using a 20 point build... Hmm... I wonder what I should do... I'm gonna try a spellcaster of some kind, give me some time...
Thinking Ratfolk Alchemist... Definitely Alchemist. A Slayer, though, not a rider.
Although I feel like a witch would work too...
Ah! I will be a Drow Tattoo sorcerer! Now just to think of a good bloodline!

Daedalus the Dungeon Builder |

How, exactly, will the dragons be handled?
If they replace a class' companion, do they act as that? i.e. share spells for a familiar, animal focus for a hunter's companion, etc.? Would a summoner's dragon gain evolutions? Would a cavalier's gain all the relevant mount abilities? A paladin's gain associated Divine Bond powers?
How will advancement be handled? Will our dragon companions just age at the normal speed, (that is, they would be a wyrmling for most of our career) or will they advance some other way? Will they gain mythic tiers?
Can we customize our dragons? Like, change their feats, skills, and spells? Can we alter their ability scores any? Can they take class levels?
Is there any compensation for people who take a lower-CR dragon rather than a high one? Such as, taking a white dragon over a red dragon?
How will alignment work? Can our dragons be a different alignment as the one listed? Do our dragons have to be the same/within one step of our alignment?
Echoing the questions about traits; and will dragons get them?
