Lure it into the room behind us and close the door?

Bring someone else's corpse in to distract it?

Dain needs to roll for that spoiler then maybe you can progress other wise it will pick you guys off for sure.

Healed Today:
Elf Hedge Witch 5 (HP 32/32 | AC:18 (14) | T:14 (18 vs incorporeal) | FF:16 (12) | Fort:+3 | Ref:+6 | Will:+6 | Init:+4 | Perc +10)
Spells Remaining:
1: (CL, EPS, OM), 2: (G, LR, VS), 3: (RoE, WW)

I can probably disable it for a short time, if you all can figure out a way to get over.

Options that I can see:
Glitterdust to blind it for 5 rounds.
Slumber Hex to make it sleep/fall for 5 rounds (and hopefully get trapped by the vines)
Scroll of Cause fear - But my guess is that won't work at this level.
Scroll of Phantasmal Killer - But I really want to avoid that as I'd like to have that as a known spell.
Scroll of Summon Monster 1 - Summon Eagle, and hopefully make it chase this as food while you run around.

That's what I got, but I can't risk getting close, as that thing will wreck me if I let it get in Melee, (as a 2 will grapple me, and I currently have no counter to that) and you all need to figure out a way to get over here, as I can't pick you up and fly you over.

The bard from the gamers comes to mind.

Human Cavalier 3, Bard 1, Fighter 1 |HP 45/45| AC 22-12-21| Init +7| Perc +4| F+9, R+5, W+4 Perf 2/6

A properly timed slumber might get us a CdG.

(Unchained Rogue - Sylvan Trickster 5) Init +4, Perc +9, AC 18/14/14 (+2vs Giants), F+3/R+8/W+2(+2 vs. Charm) HP44 DD+14

All good and fine, if you are fighting on solid ground. On the lily pads you might not even be able to deliver it.

Human Cavalier 3, Bard 1, Fighter 1 |HP 45/45| AC 22-12-21| Init +7| Perc +4| F+9, R+5, W+4 Perf 2/6

Exactly. Hence "properly timed."

Might be better to lose that than Dain and William. Just saying.

Human Cavalier 3, Bard 1, Fighter 1 |HP 45/45| AC 22-12-21| Init +7| Perc +4| F+9, R+5, W+4 Perf 2/6

Dain, you could enter the room and I can stand in the doorway while Lanneth does whatever. Lanneth, you could hold until the right moment.

Human Cavalier 3, Bard 1, Fighter 1 |HP 45/45| AC 22-12-21| Init +7| Perc +4| F+9, R+5, W+4 Perf 2/6

We might have a plan. You ladies have anything better?

Phantasmal killer scroll DC16 has two saves that the bug has to fail to die.

Will save we already had with +3+4 (?) which gives us a 35% chance to succeed with the first save.

Assuming the second save which is fort is 5 we got 50% for the second.

All in all, a chance to kill the thing of 17.5% and another 17.5 percent to do 3d6 points of damage.

Spells Remaining:

Clearly I'll start with Slumber or Glitterdust if the thing is invisible.
Phantasmal Killer is next if neither of those work.

I wouldn't have listed it if it wasn't an option, I would be willing to use, but Yorikata has the percentages correct... It's a Hail Mary if we have to use to to prevent a TPK.

Round 4 - Fight on the Lilly Pads - Conditions in Hazard
William. Yorikata
giant Dragon Fly (-7) (Entangle 6 rds)
Lanneth, Dain, Ewigga (on Lily Pad #2) <-----

How is this?

Dain head into the room (probably where you can use your waraxe if need be). Lanneth hold. William to doorway. Wait on bug.

How is what exactly?

This is a flying creature so if you can keep it from flying it will fall and take damage for sure, right now it has Vanished and you cannot see it so you need to move now if you want too.

Well that changes things from my point of view. I do not have any good ideas at this point. I think Lanneth is going to have to perform a miracle.

Human Cavalier 3, Bard 1, Fighter 1 |HP 45/45| AC 22-12-21| Init +7| Perc +4| F+9, R+5, W+4 Perf 2/6

Stick together, yes. Flanks if possible. It can move, hit, move and it is invisible. I do have a sure hit readied if I could see it.
+1 Greataxe PA: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
damage: 1d12 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
Damage is lowest possible, I could release and roll again. Need to roll 11 to hit it.

Do I realize it's immune to mind effecting, so I don't try Phantasmal Killer?

Given this I've got limited options - But I think I can still blind it and actually deal some direct damage with Ear Piercing Scream.

(Unchained Rogue - Sylvan Trickster 5) Init +4, Perc +9, AC 18/14/14 (+2vs Giants), F+3/R+8/W+2(+2 vs. Charm) HP44 DD+14

Where do you get the idea it is immune to mind effecting effects? It's fey, no mindless insect.

Maybe William jumps into the abbyss with it? Deal it some falling damage? Or William grapples back and moves with it to solid ground where we reasonably could attack it.

Btw. I have no precise shot.

It is an insect Fey, From what I can see on herolab and on D20PFSRD

Yes you would realize it is immune to the phantasmal killer so doing other attack spells would help since they bypass the SR.

Human Cavalier 3, Bard 1, Fighter 1 |HP 45/45| AC 22-12-21| Init +7| Perc +4| F+9, R+5, W+4 Perf 2/6

It is intelligent based on what I found.

Vermin possess the following traits (unless otherwise noted in a creature’s entry).

Mindless: No Intelligence score, and immunity to all mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, morale effects, patterns, and phantasms). A vermin-like creature with an Intelligence score is usually either an animal or a magical beast, depending on its other abilities.

It is interesting that the Stat block provided has it listed as Giant Dragon Fly which the base creature is an insect so therefore mindless but in Hero Lab it is listed as both.

Human Cavalier 3, Bard 1, Fighter 1 |HP 45/45| AC 22-12-21| Init +7| Perc +4| F+9, R+5, W+4 Perf 2/6

Herolab is the wrong source there, as the Ultramarine Chaser has unique stats.

Healed Today:
Elf Hedge Witch 5 (HP 32/32 | AC:18 (14) | T:14 (18 vs incorporeal) | FF:16 (12) | Fort:+3 | Ref:+6 | Will:+6 | Init:+4 | Perc +10)

So I'm assuming we settled on dragonflys not being immune to mind effecting given it fell asleep.

It's a crazy creature already.

(Unchained Rogue - Sylvan Trickster 5) Init +4, Perc +9, AC 18/14/14 (+2vs Giants), F+3/R+8/W+2(+2 vs. Charm) HP44 DD+14

The base dragonfly is immune to mind affecting, as it is a "-" intelligence vermin.

But our beloved Ultramarine Chaser is a fey instead of vermin, which according to the page William found, has an intelligence score and gets +4 on saves against mind affecting, but loses the immunity with the creature type.

Yes I rolled and it feel asleep, it is one of those things where you can find a few different stat blocks since it was made for an AP

(Unchained Rogue - Sylvan Trickster 5) Init +4, Perc +9, AC 18/14/14 (+2vs Giants), F+3/R+8/W+2(+2 vs. Charm) HP44 DD+14

You missed Dain's post, or are you expecting him to offer rolls for splattering it?

Well he does need to roll since it has a lot of HP left please.

Human Cavalier 3, Bard 1, Fighter 1 |HP 45/45| AC 22-12-21| Init +7| Perc +4| F+9, R+5, W+4 Perf 2/6

I think we need to go back to the bridge and have Lanneth cast her cloud to make these things visible. Or will it work from down here?

(Unchained Rogue - Sylvan Trickster 5) Init +4, Perc +9, AC 18/14/14 (+2vs Giants), F+3/R+8/W+2(+2 vs. Charm) HP44 DD+14

As Lanneth identified them as Lurkers in the light, I assume their invisibility advantage is gone here in the midst of this tropical rain forrest. As forrests tend to not have bright light conditions.

I would say 50/50 depends on how high they fly for sure.

Human Cavalier 3, Bard 1, Fighter 1 |HP 45/45| AC 22-12-21| Init +7| Perc +4| F+9, R+5, W+4 Perf 2/6

Hope so. So, what are my options on getting healed up? Next supply run, should we all contribute to a group med kit?

(Unchained Rogue - Sylvan Trickster 5) Init +4, Perc +9, AC 18/14/14 (+2vs Giants), F+3/R+8/W+2(+2 vs. Charm) HP44 DD+14

How about a Deus Ex CSW wand in the next loot to minimize the need for additional rests?

You can rest no issues, it cannot push nor will it push into that room.

Human Cavalier 3, Bard 1, Fighter 1 |HP 45/45| AC 22-12-21| Init +7| Perc +4| F+9, R+5, W+4 Perf 2/6

Is everything in this module beyond our capabilities? Whoa. Slumber is out, misfortune maybe, but regeneration 10....

This part will be hard, I always find the 2nd book of an AP is pretty rough as they start to ramp up the difficulty. The final part of the book will be more rough if you don't play it smart. Book 3 will be pretty easy for the first bit from what I have read and heard.

Well slumber is pretty much a one shot easy button. We can't assume that will always work.

And this AP does have a reputation for being a meat grinder so this shouldn't be unexpected.

They may be writing for a bunch of optimized characters given how late in the edition it was written.

I think this can be a super meat grinder if the GM places the giants who are smart Smart. They have lots of cool abilities that can mess with players.

(Unchained Rogue - Sylvan Trickster 5) Init +4, Perc +9, AC 18/14/14 (+2vs Giants), F+3/R+8/W+2(+2 vs. Charm) HP44 DD+14

These giants are also all persons. As in charm person (1st lvl) and hold person (2nd lvl). You can do a lot of s$+~ with that to circumvent meat grinding.

Some good 3rd lvl illusion or even enlarge person to talk the giants to accept you as their own!
