I have a little problem with my build. I like the ninja, for the Ki and some of the nice tricks I could do with that. But for my build to not totally suck in battle I need weapon finesse.
With the first feat gone for fox shape I'd have to use my first rogue talent for that. Which is a pity, because with that go the nice tricks. Can I have unchained ninja with free weapon finesse at first level?

What do you all think.... I'm stuck between two different witches in my head flavor wise.
Older Elf who looks on all the younger races like they are children so she quietly keeps them safe from spirital/magic threats while leaving them to deal with the physical threats...
Is more amused by the younger races then grouchy.
OR
Outcast Half Orc witch with a heart of gold but no clue how to act in polite society. Rough around the edges and with no clue about any social norms, he just bulls his way through life making due the best he can, and not understanding why people shun him for wearing things like uncured skins for clothing.
Think native Witch doctor and you'll get the general idea.
In either case I'm looking at a Hedge Witch who will be able to be your cleric, but with some battlefield control and single enemy debuffs.
Two mechanical questions:
1) DM RALTUS Are retraining rules allowed? Could I retrain a healing hex down the line to the Greater Healing Hex?
2) Foxy, I know Unchained Rogues can sneak attack in partial concelement. So will Obsuring mist screw you, or not? I'm thinking ahead, as those kind of spells are on my list and could help to stop Giant's AoO.
Seriously Foxy, just go unchained Rogue is my thought.

Meet Gran't'.
An oread born in the mountains that always had slightly better control over his surroundings than normal.
He is a kinetic knight. Should fill all our tanking needs quite handily.
I do need to talk some rule fluff with Raltus. Mainly that k was hoping we could treat his elemental overflow size bonuses as actually making him larger rather than. Just giving him size bonuses.
Keep all the rules exactly the same, just make him increase his space.
I am thinking about possibly doing vmc fighter to get extra dex in armor

@ScrubKai
Your input is still needed, but as I have time I came up with a suggestion for the second half of my backstory, which you would share. What do you think?
Yorikata found that the life as a fox is a hard one if you have no home to return to for food and shelter. It wasn't hard to catch some rodents. But raw mice are not that tasty. And getting soaking wet in the rain and cold is and experience she could have lived without. Roaming through the woods on such a rainy day, she found a shack. Yorikata snuck in and looked around. It was simple, but it was clear someone lived here. But as she saw no one around she hid under the bed, thankful for the dry place in that weather.
Some time later, Yorikata woke up to the noise of someone coming in. It was too late to run, as there were feet between her and the small hole she had squeezed through on her way in. She hoped she wouldn't be found, but the smell of wet fox betrayed her. As the <old elf/half orc> looked under the bed and their eyes met though, it was as if time stopped. Like something greater took over and flooded her mind with thoughts too big for her little brain. And the <old elf/half orc> staring at these thoughts, through her eyes, fascinated by them.
Yorikata had no clue what that was, the <old elf/half orc> saw through her. But it seemed important to him, as he was nice and offered food and shelter instead of chasing her out, or worse, as she had expected. This could have been a happy end for Yorikata, if it were not for the orcs and giants. They were a constant threat in these lands, but it got more often and more violent lately that they came through near the shack. And finally, they came to raid the shack, and <old elf/half orc> had to flee, together with Yorikata. To Trunau, that safe harbour in a sea of hostile creatures.

I love coming back to this, this is why gaming is so much fun. J4H comes in asking to play. You can all play.
@ The Fox Master/Mistress???? The ninja has some pretty awesome tricks, If you want to stay with that you could get Weapon finesse for free.
@ G'rant - So you would threaten a 10' square instead of 5' with normal weapons and you would be treated as large without being Large? Also I cannot see your build to help out.
@ Scrubkai - Yes I would allow Retraining down the line, there is sometime between books to do things like that and some crafting if people want to get into that.
How do you two plan to do the Witches spell book idea? Since a Witch uses her familiar to house their spells? I am only asking since it could hamper things if Yorikta dies or you two are split up for a night?
If you all want to try the Auto Bonus Progression I am ok with that but everyone has to agree, that and the Alternate Action economy System

I rewrote Yorikata as unchained rogue already, and I'll use the chance to really use all the new stuff from the unchained rogue, instead of cherry picking here and there.

I go out on a limb here, but I claim, that my survivability is much better than that of a standard familiar. It might not seem this way, but that is only, because familiars are usually forgotten in gameplay. With some like a greensting scorpion that is fine, they can live in a box in the backpack (and starve to death). But most familiars like birds, cats, monkeys, lizards, would have a hard time to stay completely out of combat without running into other dangers on their own. But if it comes to the worst, you can get a new familiar the next day for 500gp, 8h and all spells given by the class available again. Also we only need an hour in the morning together.
But that raises another interesting question: Do I get all the familiar abilities? Most of the special stuff makes sense. But there are some extra feats included that are nothing to sneeze at: Improved Evasion and Alertness at level 1.
The Nat armor bonus would also improve this familiar's survivability ;) and even the Int given by level would surpass my current stat on level 15. Full list with wizard class.
Some of that are solid boons, and I'd like to have your opinion on what I get, and what is too much.
Master Class Level - Special
1st–2nd Alertness, improved evasion, share spells, empathic link
3rd–4th Deliver touch spells
5th–6th Speak with master
7th–8th Speak with animals of its kind
9th–10th —
11th–12th Spell resistance
13th–14th Scry on familiar
15th–16th —
17th–18th —
19th–20th —
If you all want to try the Auto Bonus Progression I am ok with that but everyone has to agree, that and the Alternate Action economy System
I don't care one way or the other. It looks like we all have to learn it starting August, so we could as well start now to be prepared.
Also 2 traits 1 from the AP
I'll have to recheck on the AP traits then, if there is one in that fits.
...and I want to know why everyone is in Trunau
Been there, done that. Assuming ScrubKai approves of the backstory part II.

I dont even want the increased threat range. I get kinetic whip later which will increase my threat range.
Perhaps not getting penalties due to size to do combat meneuvers would be nice.I will try get my build up soon.
Another question, I would really like to try and flavour my armor not as an actual suit of armor or shield, but rather as natural mineral deposits that Gran't' can move around within his body.
So like he spends a lot of time eating/being in contact with rocks with a high iron content and can now basically coat himself in iron, as if it were a suit of armor.
I would be happy with it being damaged and attacked and I would still pay normal cost for all of it, but just want it to not look like normal armor.
If you all want to try the Auto Bonus Progression I am ok with that but everyone has to agree, that and the Alternate Action economy System
I would love to try both of these systems.
I want to know why everyone is in Trunau
Gran't' is in Trunau as his family was forced out of their home in the mountains. Fighting would only have gotten them all killed so instead they fled and have taken up as refugees in Trunau.
Does that work?

Foxy you can have the familiar traits when you are in fox shape but if you are in anthropomorphic shape you cannot.
I am ok with the Armor fluff wise it makes sense, you could even absorb a suit of armor as well which would be kinda cool. So you want to not take penalties against Large opponents while being medium?

I don't intend to do much in terms of combat maneuvers anyway so we can actually scrap that.
I literally just want to be able to occupy more space on the board as I take more burn (elemental overflow)

Oops. Meant to post my post from the gameplay thread in here.
So went with something easy to play hence fighter using oversized weapons. I just hope I can get past the reach of the giants to actually hit them.
So as I was saying, thought that maybe Balder and Dain are returning from a fight where they lost their whole party to a battle with a cyclops. And thus have that connection.
So what's the best way to get in and out of fighting with giants? Just have a ridiculously high acrobatics? I spend my first two feats to get mobility so that I can try avoid AoO.
Oh and I'm cool with the new actions ie. 3 Actions per turn thing. What's the auto bonus progression?

Sorry, ran my home game last night and have a bunch of stuff to do for the family this morning, so I won’t be able to finish my fluff and crunch till late tonight.
Immediate answers:
@All, I’ll go older elf good witch. It’s elf so physically she won’t look crone like but she does act old.
@Foxy: ok your background works just a couple changes I’d suggest:
She’s an elf so it’s more a shelter made from woven pine branches then a Shack.
It’s going to be a She not a He.
Other then that it pretty much matches what we had.
As for familire type issues I am good with that thought, with them understanding that if we feel like anything is particularly game breaking we adjust down the line.
As for if he dies: my suggestion is if we use find familiar we make Yorikata come back as a spirit that acts as a standard fox familiar until we either raise dead, or forever if foxy wants to play something else.
For the alternate action economy- I’m good either way the group wants to play it.
Standard boosts - I could be convinced, but not jumping up for it. Most bonuses probably don’t apply to a witch...

ABP is designed to give you all the bonuses that the game expects you to have, when the game expects you to have them.
It lets you spend gold on items you would normally not be able to.
So the more bizzare neclaces and strange rings no longer stop you from your nat armor necklace or your ring of prot.
You can get unique cloaks and the like rather than resistances.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That is a tricky thing to do make you take up more space without being larger. It wouldn't be so bad to make you take up a 10' line as opposed to a square but only in combat.
I don't quite see why. I am not asking for reach or any of the bonuses. I just want the size bonuses I already get to also change my size.
The size bonuses I get, elemental overflow:
Starting at 6th level, whenever she has at least 3 points of burn, the kineticist gains a +2 size bonus to two physical ability scores of her choice. She also gains a chance to ignore the effects of a critical hit or sneak attack equal to 5% × her current number of points of burn. At 11th level, whenever the kineticist has at least 5 points of burn, these bonuses increase to a +4 size bonus to one physical ability score of her choice and a +2 size bonus to each of her other two physical ability scores.
At 16th level, whenever the kineticist has at least 7 points of burn, these bonuses increase to a +6 size bonus to one physical ability score of her choice, a +4 size bonus to a second physical ability score of her choice, and a +2 size bonus to the remaining physical ability score.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I want to be able to go to large at 6th, huge at 11th, and gargantuan at 16th.
If thats too much I get it. I see the druid can only ever go to huge so I would be happy with that.

Yorikata - fox |
![Daji the Fox](http://cdn.paizo.com/image/avatar/PZO9435-Daji_90.jpeg)
Rewrite of backstory part II (hopefully) matching elven housing habits:
Yorikata found that the life as a fox is a hard one if you have no home to return to for food and shelter. It wasn't hard to catch some rodents. But raw mice are not that tasty. And getting soaking wet in the rain and cold is and experience she could have lived without. Roaming through the woods on such a rainy day, she found a strange sight. A pine whose dense branches are woven into each other as to form a shelter. Coming closer to explore what that was Yorikata found it impassable like a wooden wall. On her third time searching around she found a gap just large enough for her to squeeze through. Inside it was like a different world. It was dry for one, and the branches of the pine formed the interior to have something like a table, a bench, or was it a bed, some shelves and other shapes whose purpose she didn't recognize. It was simple, but with the interior, the dishes, the books, blankets and such it was clear someone lived here. But as she saw no one around she hid under the bench, thankful for the dry place in that weather.
Some time later, Yorikata woke up to the noise of someone coming in. She must have had fallen asleep, but now it was too late to run, as there were feet between her and the small hole she had squeezed through on her way in. She hoped she wouldn't be found, but the smell of wet fox betrayed her. As the person looked under the bench and their eyes met though, it was as if time stopped. Like something greater took over and flooded Yorikata's mind with thoughts too big for her little brain. And the person, an elven woman who has seen many years come and go, staring at these thoughts, through Yorikata's eyes, fascinated by them.
Yorikata had no clue what it was, the elven woman saw through her. But it seemed important to her, as she was nice and offered food and shelter instead of chasing her out, or worse, as Yorikata had expected. And she was an elf, not a human - a big relief for Yorikata. The two shared this experience every morning from this day on, and shared the shelter and food too. This could have been the 'and they lived happily ever after' for Yorikata, if it were not for the orcs and giants. They were a constant threat in these lands, but it got more often and more violent lately and they came through near the shelter. Finally, a group of dirty smelly giants came to raid the place. The elven woman had to flee, together with Yorikata. The shelter - carefully grown over the years was put to the axe and burned by these uncivilized creatures.
Yorikata and the elven woman moved to Trunau, that safe harbour in a sea of hostile creatures. Not the first choice, neither for the elven woman, nor for Yorikata, but it was safe for now.

I'm looking forward to read your perspective of events.
What you found under the bench besides the fox is a bag containing a rapier, a set of masterwork thieves tools and some gold. You'd get the impression that this stuff is somewhat important to the fox - whatever a fox would want with that.
I assume the time until the move to Trunau is rather short, and you didn't get introduced to the other forms of Yorikata yet.

We could make your size bonuses reactive to burn so 1 is 10' line, 2 is 15' triangle, 3 is 20' square and so on?
Are you referring to burn taken?
That isn't a bad idea.Could we do the following:
3 burn and level 5: 10x10
5 burn and level 11: 15x15
7 burn and level 16: 20x20
That way I have to have taken a decent amount of burn to get the size increase.

Hmm... still trying to figure out something cool. But should that not happen, there's this...
Balder's grandfather is where his giant blood comes from, and as such was distrusted growing up, until he reached adolescence where his immense strength among the Ulfen tribes brought him honour and with it a touch of glory and respect.
However he became known as the Cursed was that almost everyone he allied himself with, died. His mother died in childbirth and almost every raiding party he was in, he was the sole survivor. Attributed to him being slightly more than human, he was eventually exiled lest more unfortunate luck before his village.
He left his homeland and a year later ended up in Varisia and came to Trunau to put his skills to use - fighting giants.

Sleep Hex is a nice choice, with the high Int that might be the end of some giants. AC12 and HP8 looks worrysome, but that's what full casters have to live past until lvl2. I like the avatar.
I just noticed that Ill Omen has no save. That could be a really badass combo, once you're level 9 and can do quickened Ill Omen and Slumber Hex in one round.
Only thing that has me worried about our party at the moment is that we seem to have nothing to fight a swarm of diminuitive creatures. Did someone bring alchemist's fire? Or does Gran't have something up his sleeve for that?
