Horgus again looks around nervously, he and Don move forward just a head of the group and stop just as they enter the cave where the traitor Mongrels are.

"Um hello there, gentlemen? Gentle sers. I am Horgus Gwerm of the surface and I would like to talk to who is in charge here so I can get past and back to the surface."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15


The mongrels looks queerly at Horgus, then at each other, the largest one leans over and picks up a crude looking club. Eyeing Horgus and Don like he is ready and willing to fight.

Don I will give you a chance to say something.

We have no personal quarrel with you, a fight would cause the deaths of many and can your tribe really afford that?


One of the Mongrels starts to make a odd chirping noise, like that of a bird trying to speak. A few moments later a 4th mongrel shows up this one bearing a club as well, after they out number Horgus and Don 2 to 1 they slowly start to advance.

Lynn watches this play out but as soon as it is sure there will be no more talking she charges past the two to get them a taste of what they will get now.

The Green MOngrel man moves up AoO Lynn, swinging his stone looking club at Don.

The Mongrel in front of Lynn moves up to smash her with its club ,a feral looking grin on its face.

The club lands a sold hit on Lynn, denting her mail. The feral grin becoming more feral.

SteelGate moves up Slamming his hardened steel body, into the bloodied Mongrelman.

Slam: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 161d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

SteelGate slams the creature into the group, the Mongrelman doesn't get up from the blow. This opening allows Iko time to move into the fight and attack.


Iko Going

Iko rolls by Lynn and SteelGate, moving up to the side of the now Lonely looking mongrel man.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

Drawing his sword as he rolls, slicing into the legs of the Mongrelman

Temple Sword: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 211d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Iko's sword bites deep into the scaly leg of the Mongrel, blood flowing out of the beast in sheets.


Another Mongrel steps up at Iko slices into the first one, he swings his club at Iko as he rolls.

CLub: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 81d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Missing Iko because he is moving just to quickly. The mongrel in the back looks to both of its own then at the door behind it, readying the club but not moving.

Lynn steps one step back to be in fighting distance for her glaive.

As a swift action she heals herself a bit.

And to help Don she grabs at the sidebag of her backpack getting a potion out and hold it out to Don.


Lynn drops the Mongrel man in front of Don, the two remaining Mongrelmen look nervous but the one by Iko and Lynn stays to press the attack.

"SteelGate?" Tink says as he watches the fight start in front of him.

SteelGate nods over his shoulder and walks forward to slam at the closest opponent.
As SteelGate walks past Tink glows as he incants a phrase. As he finishes SteelGate almost shimmers. Mage Armor

Steel gate knocks the closest Mongrelman out flat, it twitches a bit on the ground but does not get up. The Final Mongrelman lets out a shriek turning to flee when he can.

SteelGate slams the last of the guards in to the wall, with a sickening crunch the MongrelMan does not get up again. Lann moves up at this time, looking the bodies over.

"None from my tribe. We should not just leave them laying here." Lann then starts to move one of the bodies to side so it is not in the way.

"We can signal my people to come and dispose of them later."

The lingering smells of cooked meat and rank bodies hang in
the air. Ten bedrolls, each piled with coarse blankets and animal
furs, surround a fire pit filled with glowing goals. Tanned hides
hang stretched on the walls, each crudely painted with scenes of
deformed humanoids hunting giant vermin in caves.

As Don moves into the room 2 other Mongrel men move out of the northern door, one of them moves to intercept Don and the other to a eastern door, opening it wide then backing up.

Lynn charges in after Don, catching the western most Mongrel man completely by surprise. Lynn lands a devastating cut to the abdomen and the Mongrel man goes down holding its belly together.

Don lands a solid blow upon the mongrel, the blow echos through the room.

The Mongrel backs up a step avoiding Don, it lets out a shriek which sounds like it is trying to mimic the voice of something. A very large Lizard walks out of the open door, moving in on Don biting at him.

Tink pauses at the corpses as they make their way forward, to see what they might have of interest on them, "SteelGate?" he says as he turns over one of the bodies to see if there lies anything under it.

Steelgate had stopped after the fight, hearing Tink he turns and walks into the room to assess the situation. He walks over to the lizard and attempts to deal with that threat first.

Tink finds nothing of interesting unless he wants some stone clubs. SteelGates mighty blow leaves man scales dented and missing.

Don shrugs off the main effects of the poison from the lizard, taking 1 point of damage. I will list the Unchained Poison rules in the discussion thread

Don pulls his dagger and stabs at the lizard.

Don manages to slices into the same spot that Iko hit the lizard, a large gush of blood soaks the ground and Don's boots as the large beast goes down with a huff. The Mongrelman Shrieks loudly and runs through the Northern door, knocking over something as he does.

End Combat

This room looks like the Mongrels were sleeping here, there are rotten and tattered bedrolls on the ground and a cold fire pit. A door to the North, 1 to the North East and 1 to the South East. From where Don is he can see into the North Eastern room, it looks like a larder.
