small clarification, we use Detect Magic + Knowledge (arcana) from a distance to learn school of magic involved on the item...
But to ID it, will be Detect Magic + Spellcraft up close and personal right?
(ie: we still have a chance to ID it once we get it out, despite lousy Knowledge (arcana) rolls? (assuming regular sort of magical item))

DM Rah |

There is a bit of crossover apparently between Knowledge Arcana and Spellcraft.
Knowledge Arcana
Identify auras while using detect magic Arcana 15 + spell level
Identify a spell effect that is in place Arcana 20 + spell level
Identify materials manufactured by magic Arcana 20 + spell level
Identify a spell that just targeted you Arcana 25 + spell level
Spellcraft
Identify a spell as it is being cast 15 + spell level
Learn a spell from a spellbook or scroll 15 + spell level
Prepare a spell from a borrowed spellbook 15 + spell level
Identify a magic item using detect magic 15 + item's caster level
Decipher a scroll 20 + spell level
Identifying auras is not the same as identifying an item, so there is only 1 way to positively identify the cloak's properties - through spellcraft. To identify an item you need to thoroughly examine it for 3 rounds (which cannot be done from a distance as far as I understand).

I was hesitant try my spells. Should've just unleashed them instead of trying whatever it was that I was doing.
But I do agree with Lucia that this was an excellent group. I had a ton of fun. I'd be happy to be included in further adventures with this bunch.

Likewise :)
PFS#22523-16
day job (dance): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
(Shirt reroll) day job (dance): 1d20 + 11 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 11 + 3 = 20

oops, didn't notice all the new messages in the discussion section =)
Guess that means we're done!
Was fun! Nothing like chelaxians to offer up some fun rp moments =)
(Though Imperia really should correct the spelling of angel in her stat byline)
Only real downside, was Janira kept stealing my bardly thunder!
One more scenario, and Noisy gets his gun! Then he'll be even louder, if not particularly effective =)
PFS# for Noisy: 84637-6
Dazzling Dwarven Drumline Dayjob Decadence: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18 ... not much, but I'll take it!
Oh, and if you can include the previously mentioned purchases on the chronicle, that'd be good!
(mw chain shirt (250gp), mw drum (100gp), mw backpack (50gp))

Everyone did a great job, and there were many excellent roleplaying scenes. I think Imperia was just fine the way you are playing her - it's fine to disagree on things as Pathfinders as long as that doesn't turn to conflict that gets in the way of the mission. I like a little tension between characters and I think it makes for better opportunities to roleplay.
The other group I'm running this through got stuck a little at the ritual chamber and is just about to exit the caves for the final encounter. They also forgot to pick up Janira's pack, only remembering about it near the end (one of them ran all the way back through the caves to retrieve it).
Anyway, I will report this session and get chronicles out sometime tomorrow.
I haven't decided if I'm going to run another thing just yet. I'm a little over-extended, so it might have to wait a little. In the meantime, feel free to visit Maximo's Hideaway and chat in character in the Gameplay thread or out of character in the Discussion thread.
Thanks everyone!
