You taking the cloak and bracers is fine with me. Thom will take that mwk longsword if no one else wants it.
I'm not inclined to make this decision, but selling the bracers should also be considered. It's a +1 that doesn't stack with Mage Armor. Then again, it's always on. Like I said, your call. just food for thought.
I'll also note the Wand of CMW on Thom's sheet, as well as the bolts. I'm guessing the Wand of Bless Weapon (found in the chest downstairs) should go to Saoirse?

Lucius doesn't have mage armor as a spell known, and a scroll or a charge from a wand of mage armor only lasts an hour. At least for now, I think I'll hang on to them.
Lucius will probably take Enduring Armor as a mythic power at some point, but it might be awhile before we get a few mythic ranks under our belts.

I've added Faxon's stuff to the loot spreadsheet (and deducted the spiritual weapon charge). I'm figuring that the morningstar will probably just be left behind, and that the heavy crossbow might be useful to the Eagle Knight.
We should probably search the other cultists.
I'll add the stuff from downstairs once Thom has had a chance to talk to the group about it.

We have our first review for Flying Pincushion Games latest supplement, Into the Breach: The Witch
I was responsible for 3 of the archetypes this time around.

I may be a little lax in posting for the next couple days -- busy day today, trip to NYC tomorrow and then I'm getting my eyes dilated (for the first time) Monday, so I don't know what effect that'll have.
DM Pendin Fust |
Sorry all, not at my computer(s) today and I left my AP book at home...so I'll update ASAP but it won't likely be until later tonight...if you are all agreeing to go to this mysterious meeting, whatever it may be.
Thom. |
I went ahead and updated the items from Faxon's office chest onto our loot tracker page. People should feel to correct any mistakes. I also went ahead and claimed the mwk longsword for Thom. I someone else wants it, speak up and we can figure out if it's better used with them.
DM Pendin Fust |
Thom, that's a good in character question for Irabeth :)

So, um, 'We attack at dawn' may be a bit of a cliche, but that's my best suggestion. We can hit the other two safehouses today, then get a proper night's sleep and renew spells, then strike the garrison tomorrow morning.
In character, we might get some actionable intelligence about the garrison (or what happens after). Out of character, we might also get some magic items that will make a frontal assault easier.
Ross Byers RPG Superstar 2008 Top 32 |
The Heart has at least one cleric high enough level to cast regeneration. That gives me hope that even if the safehouses go poorly, we can have all damage and conditions removed before the morning.
That said, I don't think we have enough daylight left to retreat to the Heart twice. If the first safehouse messes us up enough that we have to fall back to the Heart, that's probably it for the day. We have to be able to do both on the same outing if we want to get both.

I'm not gonna say time is of the essence...but there ARE consequences if too long passes when situations like this arise.

I think waiting till tomorrow night is asking for bad things to happen. The morning is the latest I'd want to go.
The only problem with going tonight is we'll be depleted after going after the safehouses, and I really, really don't want to skip the safehouses because
1) I hate missing content
2) By the Chekov's Gun principle, those safehouses wouldn't be there if there wasn't some benefit to investigating
Thom. |
Yep. I responded to your earlier post before I had actually read the gameplay posts that were pertinent. (ya know, always the smart way to go about things.)
I think the current game plan is good. Heal up, head back out, hit one, see if we have time/resources to hit the second, then be back in time for a full night's rest and a pre-dawn siege on the Gray Garrison. :D
Thom. |
ANd regarding possibly bypassing content. I'm flexible on that. It never really bothers me to jump content if it seems appropriate in-character. But if Ross wants to hit them, I'm more than happy to jump in there and mix things up with more Demon-lovers.

We have no reason to prefer one to the other, so hitting Topaz Solutions first is fine with me.
I'm going to suggest that Nebbin take the new masterwork pack. Since we're tending to load him up with gear, he'll get the most benefit out of it. Also, with a ring of jumping to go with his ring of climbing, he's going to have a lot of mobility.
Which brings me to the next thing. I think (and Lucius would suggest this in character, too) that Nebbin should carry the rod of cancellation when the time comes to raid the Gray Garrison.
Partially because Nebbin has the best movement and doesn't look like a guy who would be slowed down by something minor like an army of cultists in his way, but also because it is a relatively simple set of instructions: "Nebbin, touch the wardstone with this. If someone tries to stop you, hit them with your hammer."

HAH!
Nebbin Elsbet |
Works for me. I'll note all of that on my character sheet. Might make sense for someone else to take the potions, since Nebbin will typically be in combat and might not be able to access them easily if they need to be administered to someone else.
Thom. |
Why don't you hold onto at least one of them? There are any number of situations in which that could end up being helpful. I mean, you never know when Nebbin's going to need to jam one down a zombie's throat.
.. just sayin'

Sorry all, got some things that came up yesterday and today that severely hampered my posting to just a couple things. Tomorrow should be good though.

Lucius's inclination is to say "Leave quietly. We will keep the 'treasures'."
Not because he cares about whatever baubles they've been looting, but because those 'treasures' might be from the cultists' safehouse and therefore informative. Also because if these are cultists trying to lie their way out, the less they take with them the better.

Just FYI, this is a really busy week for me, so not sure what my posting rate will be like through Monday. It's easier to post in games I'm playing, rather than running, so I doubt I'll miss anything, but if I'm holding things up, please feel free to DMPC me.
DM Pendin Fust |
No worries!
Also, who's going to be the one to physically grab the holy symbols..
Mwahahahahahaa.
(Amber was vicious in some of the stuff she wrote in for the PC's to find. I love it!)
