Team Wagon:
"I recall she ran towards Sandpoint. Perhaps we should proceed in that direction as well."

Male Kalashtar Psychic Warrior (Pathwalker)/1 HP: 30/30 RHP: 5/30 Power Points: 4/5

Khravos:
Brought back to the present by Engineer #3's words, Khravos surveys the scene of the battle around him. Looking off into the woods, he pauses, considering whether to go in search of the chakram or not. Deciding to let it go, he reaches down to lift Ven up, slinging him over his shoulder and walking back to the group, face once more composed into an emotionless mask.

"I see no need to linger here."

docks:
Garrick departs along with Satinder, down the dock towards the murder scene.

Male Human

Team Docks:

Satinder rises from his bow with Kaijitsu's acknowledgement and begins walking briskly back to the Demon's Dream.

"Alright, Richart, give me all the details you have."

The docks:
"You should bring the..." the sailor says, glancing at Watches-Shadow-Behind-You, "...you should come as well."

The four of you pick your way around the cluster of dozens of people now helping with the mess at the docks. "You told me t' come find you if'n I found the Chief. Well -" he shudders, "...he's there, in the hold of the dream. He's been, well...you have to come see."

Male Goblin Wizard 1 HP:17 /17 AC:16 F+4 R+6 W +5 Perception:+3

Team Wagon:

Daxur grins as his bolt and #3's boot come together to end the goblin's sorry excuse for a life.

"Well stomped , my friend." he says, slapping another bolt into the crossbow and looking around for other goblins to shoot.

Seeing that none were around to accomodate him, he looks to #3, nodding at his suggestion.

"I concur. That is, after all, our destination. But first, let's see if these miscreants have any funds to defray our losses."

He trots around and checkes the pocketses and pouches of the dead goblins, looking for coin but also anythin that may give a clue as to who lead them.

The wagon:
Looking around, you see the pony the Three-armed goblin rode in on, a hundred fifty feet or so off in the woods. As the wagon burns, the crackle and occasional much louder pop, fill the silence. Smoke, and the smell of woods in the afternoon fill the otherwise dull scene. It's surprisingly muted after the chaos of the last few minutes.

The wagon ooc:
Daxur, you find six copper crowns, and four silver sovereigns.

I am going to try something out once we're finished with this scene (just need to know if you guys want to do anything else).

Here is my idea: I will do a segue-scene. When we finish here, the group of you will travel home. I will prompt one of you for a conversation, and we follow it to it's conclusion. This will cover the "time traveled", and allow specific time for role-playing, and discussing what just happened, and what you plan to do.

I can prompt ideas (for instance, Three could ask Khravos about why he fights with a chakram), or you guys can pick something YOU want to talk about. This allows Khravos to delve into why he does, fleshing out his background naturally, and developing inter-character relations. Or, Khravos could ask Daxur about Cauldron, allowing you guys to delve into a little of your last adventures.

Keep in mind, you don't have to go into details. Satinder just asked Garrick about his father, and he dodged the question, giving a little info, but not going into detail or actually answering the question. That's good. These shouldn't be info-dumps, but should be a short bit where natural conversation and development happens.

Daxur and Engineer #3 ooc:
I went back to look at Shackled City...I had no idea you played for three years! 3,500-odd posts! Wow!

I laughed several times at the shenanigans (didn't get more than 300 posts in), and remembering the DM's style took me back. Lol.

Male Human

Team Docks:

Satinder gives Watches-Shadows-Behind-You a curious glance before speaking to the sailor as they walk.

"Why, exactly, are you suggesting we bring a civilian to a crime scene? And please, dispense with the drama. The more details you can tell me about the scene as we walk, the less time I have to waste when we get there."

Male Goblin Wizard 1 HP:17 /17 AC:16 F+4 R+6 W +5 Perception:+3

The Wagon:

Daxur jingles the collected coinage in his hand, grinning at the others, "Not quite a dragon's hoard, but it will suffice for a few ales and a fine meal, think." he declares, slipping the booty into his pouch.

Looking down the road towards Sandpoint, he looks at the others, "Shall we....?"

The wagon ooc:

Sounds interesting...seque-away!! :)

Re:Shacked city. Yeah that was fun while it lasted. Too bad Shadowwalker petered out. Turns out we made a mistake by giving him a second chance after Rutseg stepped in to take over. He just sort of faded away.....

The docks:
"It's not that, its...I don't know how to describe it. I spent my time on a cog during the war, never saw anything...gruesome." He shudders.

Male Human

Team Docks:

Satinder winces.

"That's . . . unfortunate. I'm sorry, Richart, but I do need to be prepared. Was the man dismembered? Decapitated? Eviscerated? Should I expect ritualistically prepared remains, or an animal attack?"

The docks:
"Erm -" he says, looking highly uncomfortable. "Might be a...a ritual, I suppose?"

You continue up the gangplank of the Demon's dream.

Male Human

Team Docks:

Satinder nods, his face tightening.

"I see. That would be why you wanted Master--"

He falters as he looks at Watches-Shadows-Behind-You.

"Master . . . Halfling . . . along with us. My apologies, sir, but I'm afraid I've forgotten your proper name. Is there a shorter name that we might call you by?"

Team Wagon:
Engineer looks over the coins in Daxur's small hands, appraising their value. "I assume the gold alone should suffice for lodging and refreshment in Sandpoint. Unfortunately, it will not account for the loss of the wagon of fireworks."

Spotting the pony way off in the distance, Engineer tries to gauge their ability to corral the beast.

"Do you think it possible we retrieve that animal? It should fetch a decent price in the market, and provide a bit of relief for tired feet."

Engineer #3 ooc:
Engineer #3, you could easily catch the pony and take it back with you.

Team Wagon:
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Engineer secures the small pony and brings it back to the group.

"A resource, this animal may aid our remaining travel. Daxur, at least, could ride it."

Turning towards Sandpoint, Engineer walks with long strides and heavy footfalls.

"Khravos, I notice you fight with a weapon strapped to the front of your hand. I was unaware that humans would attach components in such a manner. Warforged have specific weapon components like those; blades, battlefists, even ranged weapons. Why did you choose that weapon? Does it yield some advantage to your fighting style?"

Male Goblin Wizard 1 HP:17 /17 AC:16 F+4 R+6 W +5 Perception:+3

Team Wagon:

Daxur looks at the pony with a sceptical eye, then shrugs , suddenly liking the idea of entering Sandpoint without aching feet.

He takes hold of the reins and goes to mount the pony....

Wagon:
Khravos considers the weapon on his forearm, nods to Engineer #3. Following along, looking back to make sure Daxur can guide the beast successfully.

"We of the Broken Blade learn to fight with a minimum of weaponry. The short blade and secure grip of the scizore makes the weapon more a natural extension of the hand, and enables us to use it as a shield when needed as well. Fighting unarmed we use our arms to block. When your opponent is slicing down with a blade, armor... helps."

The wagon:
You load up the unconscious Ven on the back of the pony, and Daxur mounts up. You move down the road, leaving the burning wagon and bodies of goblins behind you.

The wagon ooc:
Daxur, don't worry about the ride check. I disagree with forcing players to roll for everything. You aren't under duress, have all the time in the world, and would reasonably succeed at a basic task. :) Most of the time I'll call for a roll when needed, or roll it myself and let you know the outcome.

Male Human

Yes, We Are Still On The Docks, Walking Towards A Boat:

Satinder's step falters, and he gives Watches-Shadows-Behind-You a flat look.

"You? You want us to call you . . . You?"

He sighs.

"Very well. Master You it is."

The docks (aboard the Demon's dream):
"This way, sirs." The sailor leads your troupe across the deck of the Demon's dream. Other sailor's glance at the three of you, and then return to their duties. The central cargo access is open in the middle of the deck, allowing access with a crane into the hold and lower decks.

There is an extra tension in the air, after the accident on the docks. Overhead, the late afternoon sky out over Manta Bay is darkening early, thanks to gray clouds gathering overhead. The wind picks up, and pulls at your collars a little bit more, just before you climb down the ladder onto the orlop deck.

The docks (aboard the Demon's dream):
The sailor leads you down onto the orlop deck. It is dim in here, not quite dark. It smells like unwashed bodies mixed with too sweet fruits, something fungus-y, like an old mop, and a bit of copper. "I was helpin' with the unloading. Went back into the far corner to fetch a bunch of bananas. Never thought I'd see -"

With a loud bang, a lid of a crate slams shut. A younger sailor, a boil on his nose, starts as you approach down the narrow aisle of cargo.

Your guide glares at the sailor with the boil. "你在做什麼?"

The other man glances around nervously. "卸載."

Your guide points towards the ladder."離開這裡。船長會聽到這一點。"

As the sailor with the boil squeezes past you, his eyes down, your guide shakes his head. "Any opportunity..."

He looks at the three of you. "This way. Just here."

A heating stove gives of a hellish red light, bathing the back corner of the ship. The coppery smell of blood, mixed with burning coal, and what smells like earth, or dirt, or maybe a sweet manure, assaults your senses. Barrels, piles of rope, sacks of goods, all lay about. But the thing that demands your attention, is a man hanging upside down, blood dripping down his dangling arms to the deck, which covered in his blood. He appears to have his leg tied to a rope strung over a beam of the deck above, and tied back to a large crate of some sorts behind him, covered in a canvas tarp.

His forehead has been cut into, and beneath him, soaked in his blood, are several coins.

"I found him here. And then I run get you."

There is not a lot of room. Several aisles converge here, and you can see light coming in from the deck above from the hold access, the dim blue light filtering in, catching dust motes, contrasting with the glaring orange you stand in. You feel the ship list a bit more than normal, reminding you that you are on water.

Male Human

Docks (Demon's Dream):
Satinder swallows hard and stumbles into a nearby crate, leaning hard against it as his knees buckle. He seems in shock for a few moments, staring at the corpse and breathing shallowly.

"Fascinating, Khravos. Are there a large number of such monastaries, training their followers in martial and psionic skills? An army of such warriors would be incredibly powerful. I do not know of any such places of learning on Khorvaire. Do you?"

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:

Garrick looks at the man, trying to ascertain if he yet lives.

"Who did this?" he asks of the assembled people.

Like a scene from any captured camp when the enemy doesn't put up enough of a fight.

The docks:
The sailor shifts nervously. "I don't know, Sir. That's why I brought you all."

Garrick ooc:
He is dead. The blood on the ground seems to be under him, and also to his right about a foot. (Your left.)

Also, remember to spoiler your thoughts. :) The others shouldn't know them.

Male Halfling Shaman 1

Dock (aboard the Demon's dream):

Watches-Shadow-Behind-You examines the bloody man with the dispassionate aura of a professional healer.

"Was he alive when you found him?" he asks as he peers carefully at the wounds.

Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23
Heal: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Knowledge (Nature): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

The intent is to do a forensic examination using his knowledge of nature and folk medicine. He will look carefully for fine details, assess the wounds, and determine the nature of any insects (or dirt other natural material). These would be things like maggots which would help determine time and place of death. (AKA CSI:Breland)

The docks (aboard the Demon's dream):
The sailor shakes his head. "No. He was just like this."

Watches-Shadow-Behind-You:
Ha. I love it.

You find a hole in his tunic, soaked in crusty blood. Under it, just below his heart, is a large puncture wound. His forehead has seven lines, or perhaps points, carved in a circle, with the points facing out. His head is dark, from blood pooling from being upside down. No more blood is dripping from him, however.

There are a dozen or so bugs flitting around the body, but you see no signs of eggs, or larvae. You would guess he's been dead around two hours, maybe three.

When you roll to find information, pick one skill. Are you using Perception to spot things? Your healing skills to examine the medical side of the body? Or Nature to observe the bugs?

With all three, it becomes harder to adjudicate. If you roll a 20 on nature, a 10 on heal, but a 1 on Perception, do you notice anything? And how could you notice the bugs then? Your perception was a 1. See what I mean? Try to pick one, and roll play that side of it. :) Or just describe what you're doing (like you did), and I'll pick the skills that would work, and let you know if they did.

Love the CSI: Breland, lol.

Male Human

The Docks (Aboard the Demon's Dream:

Satinder recovers from his moment of shock, visibly steeling himself as he approaches the body.

"What else can you tell us about him? How long has he served aboard the Dream? Did he have any enemies? Was he religious? When did he adopt the child, and why?"

He glances back at the sailors.

"Any detail can be vital, and time is pressing. I need to know everything about this man."

Perception:

Khravos scratches his throat pensively. "Hm. I suppose it would. Though it could only be a force for defense, not aggression. One truly trained in our way must realize that the true aim of learning to fight is so that one does not have to fight."
Khravos keeps a safe distance from Daxur and Three, in case either of them is offended by his smell, while loosening his armor to allow it and his clothes to dry.

Team Pony:
"It would seem my creators and your trainers shared some of the same philosophy. Although learning to fight so as to stave off future fighting led to what was termed "Premptive Counter Attack" in some cultures. Essentially, when faced with a potential threat which has articulated an intention to harm, the moral imperative not to engage in destructive acts becomes moot."

Engineer continues walking and waxing philosophical about the nature of warfare and destruction. As he speaks, sparks of light emit from his joints & eyes, seemingly randomly.

"Using such an idea, one may justify all kinds of otherwise indefensible actions. Your force of Defense becomes an early-strike opportunity. Their focused abilities, combined with the unaware state of the foe, would prove quite dramatic."

Engineer seems oblivious to the idea that this is NOT what Khravos suggested with his words.

Male Halfling Shaman 1

Demon's Dream:

Watches-Shadow-Behind-You turns to face everyone.

"He died two to three hours ago after being stabbed through the heart," he says with authority, "Seven lines, or points, were drawn on his head in a circle, pointing downward."

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:

"Sounds like a ritual of some sort, with that patterned cutting. Good thing you showed up when you did." Garrick says in reply.

The docks (aboard the Demon's dream):
Satinder joins Watches-Shadow-Behind-You, kneeling in front of the hanging body.

"I don't know how you get so close. I almost lost my stomach when I found him." the sailor says, gagging softly.

Another smell wafts its way through the boat: fresh rain. Your ears perk up, and you can just make out the drumming of raindrops on the wood of the boat, lightly, but definitely there.

Satinder:
The cuts on his forehead are there, just like you remember. Seven of them, in a circle, the points pointing outwards.

The blood beneath the body seems to go farther out to his right, your left, than it should if it had just hung here. You see three coins of some sort, covered in the congealing blood on the floor.

Looking up, you notice another rope tied over the beam, a few feet to the left of the one the dead man is hanging from. Examining his other leg, which is hanging behind the body, you find it covered in blood. The canvas covering on the crate behind it is soaked in blood, but the foot is torn off, no longer attached. And it is no where to be seen.

As you look at him, your vision seems to cloud. Not blurry, just...wrong. The sailor looks to be surrounded by a brownish red hue, not unlike the drying blood.

The wagon:
With a groan, Ven, laid across the pony's back, lifts his head. "What in the Nine Hells of Baator..."

Team Pony:

Daxur is quite pleased with the nice gentle rolling gait of the pony, and sits tall in the saddle , chin held high.

As #3 and Khravos prattle on about weapons and philosophising about death and destruction, Daxur's head begins to nod abit , lulled by the rocking of the pony and the warm sun.

A commotion behind him on the pony startles Daxur into sudden wakefulness.

Turning about, he finds himself looking at Ven's legs and feet. Turning about the other way, he looks down at the man's now conscious head.

"I suggest you return to your slumber, my good man, the conversation so far has been interminable. " Daxur suggests solicitously.

The wagon:
Ven hops down off the pony with Engineer #3's assistance. "What happened? My wagon!"

Male Human

Demon's Dream:

"Something's wrong," says Satinder, stepping back from the corpse. "This body has already been disturbed since it was placed. Look, here." He points out the broken rope, and the ragged stump where the corpse's foot should be. "This man was hanging from both feet when he died, not one."

He turns to Richart again, speaking sharply. "Mister Richart, in addition to my previous questions, I need to know if there are any animals on board, legal or otherwise. Quickly, man!"

OOC:

The second and third paragraphs of the "Satinder" spoiler in the 2/26 3:21 PM post from DM Mittean should now be considered common knowledge.

The Docks (aboard the Demon's dream):
Watches-Shadow-Behind-You and Garrick look at what Satinder is pointing out.

The blood beneath the body seems to go farther out to his right, your left, than it should if it had just hung here.

Richart becomes a little flustered. "Animals? We don't have a permit for shipping animals." He walks over tentatively to look at the stump of the leg, squeezing in front of the group to see, before gagging and turning away. "He'd been on the ship for years, out of the Principalities. He owed a great deal of money, however, to -"

With a sudden crash, something long and dark tears through the tarp on the crate. It grabs Richart's chest, and yanks him backwards hard. He is unable to scream, it happens so fast. You all feel a telltale warm spray hit your skin, as the thing that grabbed the sailor slams him again, and cuts him in half from his right shoulder to his left armpit. The sound is indescribable, somewhere between a ripping sheet, the snapping of dry branches in the woods as you stomp on them, and spilling a large bucket of porridge on the ground.

The docks Everyone ooc:
Everyone please give me what your character intends to do. It is not your initiative yet, but I would like them declared in OOC so I can set up the next actions.

Crunch:
Satinder's Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21, Garrick's Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 and Watches-Shadow-Behind-You's Perception: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (17) + 17 = 34.

Satinder:
The thing looks like the claw of some terrible spider. A very large, terrible spider.

Watches-Shadow-Behind-You:
The thing that slashes out looks like the claws of a arachnid-like creature known as the Rhagodessa. A supreme night hunter, they are the size of a horse, and can grab a man lightning fast to slowly chew on them. They have eight legs, and pincers on their front. It is usually a shade of brown, with an over-sized head.

"No loss of human life occurred, fortunately. We were able to secure this animal as means of transport, and are progressing towards Sandpoint on foot."

Male Human

Action Declaration Satinder:

Satinder will (Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 vs DC 15) not be shocked into inaction, and will plan to grab anything nearby that could be used as a weapon while retreating and yelling at everyone to do the same.
("Get back! Back, out of the hold, go!")

The wagon:
Ven picks up the pace, but immediately winces, touching the side of his head. "We need to speak to Mayor Deverin at once when we get to Sandpoint. And Sheriff Avertin, as well." He does not slow, but looks around, confused, his face scrunching up. "What is that wretched smell?"

The docks (aboard the Demon's dream):
"Get back!" Satinder yells, just as the front of the crate explodes outwards, barely missing Satinder and Garrick as they dive out of the way. Watches-Shadow-Behind-You takes a piece of crate to the arm, cutting him.

A Rhagodessa the size of a horse bursts from inside the crate, knocking the hanging body down, and kicking the lower half of Richart across the room.

Lurching to his feet, Satinder darts in front of the creature, grabbing Richart's dropped sabre, and pushing Watches-Shadow-Behind-You, propelling him forward. "Back, out of the hold!" Behind him, the creature smashes the stove, tossing the coals all over.

Garrick sprints down an aisle to the right, drawing his short sword for use in the tight quarters, and Satinder and Watches-Shadow-behind-You take an aisle on the left.

The Rhagodessa lunges at Satinder, grabbing him as he attempts to jump over a barrel. Watches-Shadow-Behind-You skids to a halt, looking back. "Go!" Satinder screams, as the creature bites his left thigh.

With a yell, Garrick leaps off several crates and slams into the side of the creature, his sword burying deep. The creature drops Satinder.

Garrick yanks out his sword, and grabs Satinder's arm, pulling him up. "Run!"

They sprint away from the creature, heading back towards the aisle Garrick had been running down.

The creature shakes its head, and then bolts after the Halfling. Watches-Shadow-Behind-You sees Shadow fly quickly in front of him, darting through the stacks of cargo, and he nimbly follows. Behind him, the Rhagodessa barrels through the cargo, sending wood and goods flying in a storm of debris as it crashes through them, attempting to grab the shaman. Shadow dives suddenly under a hand wagon, and Watches-Shadow-Behind-You does not hesitate, following him.

The Rhagodessa thunders through the space the Halfling was running just moments before, barely missing him.

It continues its momentum forward, scrabbling over a stack of crates to come after the other two again. Garrick arrives at the ladder by the central cargo access first, and climbs, while Satinder dodges to the left, running along a wall. Just as Garrick's head crests the exit, he is yanked back down into the hold, his fingers grasping for purchase on the deck.

Satinder slashes down on the rope holding the counter-weights to the cargo elevator, which the Rhagodessa is now standing on.

With a high pitched whir, the elevator propels the Rhagodessa upwards quickly, out of the hold of the ship, Garrick being dragged along upwards by his foot, first slamming into the floor, and then finding himself air born. The elevator reaches its pinnacle, causing the Rhagodessa to scramble and catch its balance. It loses its grip on Garrick, who flies upwards a couple more feet, and then slams onto the deck, his breath knocked from him. His short sword spins in the air and disappears back into the depths of the hold.

Watches_Shadow-Behind-You extricates himself from the debris and he and Satinder ascend the ladder to watch as the Rhagodessa leaps to the deck of the ship, mauls a sailor, and then leaps over the railing of the ship. Screams fill the air as lightning arcs across the dark blue sky, silhouetting the nightmare just released on Sandpoint. It lands with a deafening boom of thunder on the docks, as the crowd of people gathered from the accident panic, and run.

Heavy raindrops pour from the sky. You smell smoke, and fire.

Crunch:

Rhagodessa Bull rush: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19 vs. Watches-Shadow-Behind-You's Defense: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20, missing.

The Rhagodessa attempts to grapple: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16 vs. Garrick's CMD: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10, succeeding.

Satinder's Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16.

damage: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 2) + 2 = 7 to Satinder, leaving 25/32 HP.

I put it in my "Linked Terms" spoiler, since if i put it under feats it'll be washed away the next time i modify the herolab file.

Garrick, did you spend the full 900 gp?

RHP 36 / HP 36

yeah and then some. I have 13gp left.

Male Human Film producer 3 Film director 2 Real estate investor 1

Hahah. Nice. I'm going over your character right now, so I may be posting questions. :)

I don't see steadfast personality listed in the Will save.

Under Special attack, can you list Cornugon Smash and Furious Focus? My guess is you will always use those together, correct?

Do you want to do Exile and Unreactive? You end up just net down 4 Initiative, and don't gain a Trait, technically. I'm fine with it, just seems to cancel out a little bit.

For Indomitable Stance, do you want to list the benefits against Charge with the Trample on CMD? And the ...what is that? A -1 on enemies attacks and their damage when they Charge you? That whole entry is...horridly written, lol. Trample vs Reflex, Combat maneuvers, CMD vs. Overrun, AC vs. Charge, and -1 to attack and dmg vs. charge? That is ranking top five of "who the F wrote this mess" rules I've ever come across, lol.

Male Human Film producer 3 Film director 2 Real estate investor 1

I'm going to say: "At 1st level the Steelblood gains a +1 on CMD checks against Trample, Bull Rush, Charge and Overrun, and subtracts 1 dmg from any of those Maneuvers or abilities when applied to him."

He's just hard to push over. Does that work?

Do you own 5 Chakrams? And why does it list all of them as "or" attacks?

RHP 36 / HP 36

RE: Special attacks:
Yeah I can add these things, they will just be in a separate spoiler at the top or something because if i go adding things in the HeroLab output, I would have to re-add them every time i modified what equipment I was carrying, or leveled up, etc.

I won't ALWAYS use power attack, so i won't ALWAYS use the feats that key off of it, but it will be a pretty often kinda thing.

RE: Traits:
Really the Campaign Traits didn't fit me, so I picked that one. I would have picked the other aspect of Outlander, that gives a DC and CL bonus to three spells, but I don't even cast spells yet and when i do, there aren't a lot that I cast against others or that don't already have sufficient duration.

RE: Indomitable Stance:
Yeah, it is written terribly. The link to the skill is under Steelblood in my links section.
Indomitable Stance (Ex): At 1st level, a steelblood gains a +1 bonus on combat maneuver checks, to CMD against overrun combat maneuvers, and on Reflex saving throws against trample attacks. He also gains a +1 bonus to his AC against charge attacks and on attack and damage rolls against charging creatures.

RE: Chakrams:
Yes I own five. Herolab insists on listing them all out like that as if they were separate weapons, because they are separate weapons and not ammunition. It'd do the same if i bought 5 daggers, since they are thrown weapons, though many PCs will own more than 1. Oh well. hahaha

RE: Indomitable Stance alteration:
Subtracting 1 damage is considerably weaker than the original. It is written confusingly because those maneuvers aren't all resisted the same way, hence the situational bonuses to whatever opposes those maneuvers (AC, Reflex, opposed check, etc.).

Male Human Film producer 3 Film director 2 Real estate investor 1

You've got Ride +3...+1 for Skill point, +3 for trained, -2 for Armor (-4 +1 for Trait +1 for MW), +2 for DexMod for a total of +4...I think I'm missing something.

I figured on the Chakrams.

You are going to have some bonuses different from HeroLab...as I do have some things calculated differently (which we're about to all do). Not a ton, but there will be differences. Not sure how you want to handle that, as I suspect the HeroLab "updates" will cause you more trouble than they are worth. :/

The different maneuvers might be handled different by me. I'll look at it this weekend, and see how I would handle each of those, and let you know. Lol. I love the flavor of that power, but the rules...man, it's worse than wrestling in 3.5.

the -2 ACP for armor is overridden by the -3 for the weight of the equipment i carry (which accounts for that mysterious -1 disparity). This will be offset by me unloading some gear onto the horse i am riding, if it ever comes to pass that i am riding a horse.

Male Human Film producer 3 Film director 2 Real estate investor 1

That's what it is! Ha. When I build characters, I usually build them with just armor and weapons for weight, and do stats, and then ADD the carry weight stats in parenthesis. THAT's why I missed that, lol.

What takes the Intimidate to +8?

Depending on what needs changed, I can use the Augment tab to adjust most things here or there. So it isn't a lot of trouble, and it lets me put notes in there like "DM said so" so I remember why that augment is there. For instance, I have already put in augments to add power attack as a free feat, and will soon add the bonus feat in there as well. If i didn't do that augment, the Feats tab goes red because i'd have too many feats, and if i just take power attack off, then all feats that require it go red because it is a pre-req.

I mean, honestly, it is just written poorly, but the mechanics check out. Given how often those maneuvers (other than charge) come up... i don't think it'll be that much of a problem, unless you really have a thing for creatures with trample and overrun.

That said, in the aforementioned Augment tab, I can disable the ability so it doesnt show and isnt calculated, then add 4 separate augments for the aforementioned combat occurrences.

Male Human Film producer 3 Film director 2 Real estate investor 1

Yeah, I just went over the rules. They do check out, minus the last line of +1 attack and damage vs. charging...really only usable when you have a readied action...maybe. So...scrap it. I've got a slightly re-worded, that should give you as many benefits, and work better with my style of combat.

Which, incidentally, you have no way of knowing this archetype is built for my system, lol. You'll see once we get into it, and I think you will really like it.

I'm going off the theme that this build just can't be moved. It's a stance. It's about defending what someone is trying to do to you. This isn't an aggressive stance, and it's not about smacking weapons, or breaking things, etc. It's about your feet.

I had Satinder put it in a custom page for the Steelblood, so it looks exactly the same, but has wording just for our campaign. Apparently creating pages for custom rules is a thing...I had no idea. Thanks, Satinder!

Custom Steelblood here.

This way you don't get a blanket +1 to all CMB's, but have more of a focused style of combat, and will do more damage on retaliations. (Don't worry about that now, more on that later).

:)

It says "At 1st level, a steelblood gains a +1 bonus to bull rush, trip, and overrun combat maneuvers, and to CMD against the same, and on Reflex saving throws against trample attacks. He also gains a +1 bonus to his AC against charge attacks and a +1 to retaliatory damage rolls.

This ability replaces fast movement."

Male Human Film producer 3 Film director 2 Real estate investor 1

Just change the link on your page, should be fine. The CMB needs to go down 1 as well, as now it's for specific things.

I think that puts you at complete, correct? All your feats selected, all Traits...is your Destined Bloodline listed anywhere? I didn't see it.

Oh...what's the +2 Will for? I couldn't figure that one out.

RHP 36 / HP 36

Oh...what's the +2 Will for? I couldn't figure that one out.

I will get those modifications done and augmented in Herolab tomorrow sometime.

The Destined bloodline's Destined Strike is in there, and the link is in the link section.

The +2 will is from the Steadfast Personality trait which has me use CHA vice WIS for my will saves.

Male Human Film producer 3 Film director 2 Real estate investor 1

I thought it wasn't for Will saves, but for saves vs. Mind-affecting effects, specifically?

Either way, leave it as is, and add the +2 vs. Mind-affecting affects on top of it. I'll explain later. That makes your saves all good for me. :)

RHP 36 / HP 36

Ah, i see there was an errata that hasn't made it into herolab yet i don't think. but i shan't complain about your modification there! haha!

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Male Human Film producer 3 Film director 2 Real estate investor 1

Lol. Yeah. Also...make your HP 36, and add a line right after it: Reserve Hit points (or RHP, whatver): 36.

I give a deal more HP. Reserve HP are not "active"...if you take 37 damage, you are dying.

But after a battle, Your RHP "move over" from the RHP to HP at the rate of 1 HP/minute...think of it like Bruce Willis in Die Hard. He gets kicked to the curb, almost done in, then moves on to the next scene, and has "more" stamina or health by the time he gets there.

So let's say you get squashed by a giant for 35 damage, and then we kill the giant. You are in a bad way. But 35 minutes later, your HP are full...and your RHP have only 1 left. If you take 2 more damage, after 1 minute, the last RHP moves over...and you should have 35 HP, and 0 RHP.

This allows you to do more encounters in a day, but not more damage in a single encounter.

I've used this at my table for a long while, works brilliantly. I'll go over how healing is addressed later.

So for now: 36 HP and 36 RHP. :)

Male Human Commoner/12

DM:
HP/RHP= Constitution + Max Class HP + 10? So I'd be at [14] + [8] + [10] = 32/32?

Yes.

Male Human Film producer 3 Film director 2 Real estate investor 1

Daxur, I don't think Ambitious is showing up on your Diplomacy score.

I don't see your memorized spells. Also, roll 3d4+IntMod...that's the number of cantrips you know. And put the Conjuration (teleportation) note by your DC's.

Where did you find Scholar of the Ancients?

Kno (history & dungeoneering) should both be +9, I think the other Knowledges are +8?

Also list the effects of pride where appropriate (by the skills, etc.)

Give yourself 26 HP and 26 RHP.

Saves are good.

I think you have Stealth as trained? I don't believe that's a class skill for a wizard. +1 Skill point, +4 racial, +4 DexMod = +9?

Also, Roll 1d6+5, and put that for your Hero Points. Garrick as well. And You each have 1 Destiny point.

Skill points I've really no idea what's going on there. You have 6/level, correct? :)

Male Human Film producer 3 Film director 2 Real estate investor 1

Okay, Khravos, make your Fort save +6.

Change your HP to 30, and your RHP to 30.

Roll 1d6+5 for your Hero Points, and you have 1 Destiny Point.

I...think everything else looks good. Not positive, I'm tired, lol.

Male Human Film producer 3 Film director 2 Real estate investor 1

Alright, this is for the spell-casters...which...is all of you...lol.

I tend to color the different flavors of magic systems very different, so I have some of my ideas and thoughts here.

Daxur, your magic is arcane. It's about books. Memory. Sigils. Symbols. Glyphs. Components.

Whereas Garrick, your magic is innate. It's about blood. Ancestry (not necessarily ancestors). For you, destiny, about either something you are driving towards, or something that is drawing you on. Flowing. Waves. Pulsing.

Satinder, your senses and abilities are about instinct. Gut. Sixth sense. Premonitions. Spidey sense. Not terribly...self-aware, as it were. Middle brain, or the limbic system. Paleomammalian. Super Ego.

Engineer #3, your powers are about cognitive. Thinking. Reasoning. Knowledge. Experience. Front brain, or the Neo-cortex. Very conscious in choice. Mammalian. Ego.

Khravos, yours are about doing. Action. Drive. Reptilian brain. Conative. Mental energy. Id. Fight or flight. Feed or breed.

Watches-Shadow-Behind-You, your belief is about traditions. Families. Dreams. Ancestors. Rituals. Spirits. Superstitions. You don't cast spells, you...pray, or connect, or speak with your spirits. They aren't "spells"...something else.

Male Human Film producer 3 Film director 2 Real estate investor 1

When you cast spells, if you can, link them in the dialogue, and make them unique looking.

অগ্নি শ্বাস. (Fire breath, an evocation spell, is in Bengali).

מאַגע אַרמאָר (Mage armor, a conjuration spell, is in Yiddish).

நடவடிக்கை தடுக்கவில்லையா. (Forbid action, an enchantment spell, is in Tamil).

صدا شبح. (Ghost sound, an illusion spell, is in Persian).

արդար արիւնը. (Righteous blood, an abjuration spell, is in Armenian).

જાદુ આંખ. (Arcane eye [magic eye], a divination spell, is in Gujarati).

ხარის ძალა. (Bull's strength, a transmutation spell, is in Georgian).

الراحة الأبدية. (Rest eternal, a necromancy spell, is in Arabic).

Goblin is in Icelandic. "Daxur gerir yndislega tebolla."

Translation from goblin:
"Daxur makes a lovely cup of tea."

I think Aundairan is French, Kaarnath is Finish (or Russian, haven't decided. Not sure if I want Cyrillic as a non-spell-casting language) Thrane is Italian. Talenta, or halfling, is Maori. Dwarven is Estonian. Dragon tongue is Nepalese. Abyssal is from Myanmar. Elvish from Valinar is found here. Celestial is from Khmer. Infernal is from Urdu.

These are all just ideas I am throwing out. If you have any suggestions, I am open to them. :)

Awesome, thanks for those answers, Daxur.

Looks like you are done with those, Khravos. The +3 for your Fortitude comes from the fact I do Saving throws like 4th Edition...So Fortitude is the greater of StrMod or ConMod. Your StrMod is +4, 3 higher than your ConMod...so +3. :)

Alright, I use active defense and Armor for DR, so let's adjust your AC line.

AC +4, tch +2, FF +0
DR 3/armor (bypassed by Large or magic)
and CMD should be +6

(Oh, and you have dual spirts listed under SQ and under SA, I think it's supposed to be dual spirits.)

I don't see height, weight, hair, eyes, or birthplace listed.

And that...that will bring your character to completely done and ready to roll. Congrats! And thank you!

:)

When you guys attack something, you'll roll your attack and potential damage, and then I will roll it's Defense, and adjudicate if you hit you not, and apply damage to any DR and HP.

When I attack you, we have one of two options:
- I roll the attack and such, and then you reply with a Defense roll, and then I adjudicate. Or...
- I roll the attack and such, and I roll your Defense, and tell you if you what happened when they attacked.

Which would you guys prefer? I know me doing it makes it faster, but I don't necessarily want to take the dice from you. If we get at least 4 on one option, I'll go with that.

Male Human Film producer 3 Film director 2 Real estate investor 1

I do give XP for posts (quality), so more posts will mean slightly more XP.

I also give points for journal entries. If you want to, you can create a journal in the Campaign journals section, and link it to your character page. You can write about your characters thoughts on the campaign, on someone they just met, on memories, on other characters, on items they found, on politics of the nations...whatever.

It doesn't have to be long, but two or more paragraphs a week is brilliant. It's worth 10% of your character level per entry, up to four weeks a month. :)

Male Human Film producer 3 Film director 2 Real estate investor 1

Three, change your Fort to +3 (For your StrMod). And your Ref needs to use your IntMod instead of your DexMod.

Your HP should be 30 (14 Con + 10 + 6 HP for Shaper), and your should have 30 RHP as well.

Your AC should be +1, with DR 2/NA for your NA, for a total of 3 DR/-. (Bypassed by Gargantuan)

Add 1 Destiny point, and Hero points 1d6+5.

More speed and efficiency that way.

As to his HP, Engineer has the psionic body feat, which gives him 2 hp & an additional 2 hp for every psionic feat afterwards. I added 8 HP to both normal and "reserve" hp, is that correct?

As to the defense, I think I have it correct. I am not familiar with the system you are using, but I believe if I manifest force screen (and later, inertial armor), that will give me +4 DR? (later +8 from both powers?)

I don't mind if you roll both AC and attacks.

However, I would like to point out that, statistically, you are wasting your time.

Rolling two d20s in opposition to each other effectively cancels them out. An easy way to show this would be subtract one die roll from the second. Possible results are between -19 and 19. The average of these two results is zero--the same as not rolling at all.

Male Human Film producer 3 Film director 2 Real estate investor 1

Yes, Three, I forgot about your Psionic feats. :) And the Defense is correct.

Khravos, the Armor as DR rules are here, and Active defense just takes the static 10+bonuses, and treats it as active (like an attack), rather than static, like taking 10...which it literally is. Lol.

The averages are the same, Watches-Shadow-Behind-You. The range ends up being wider, which I like, but you'll actually see where it comes into effect in game-play. I utilize the number differently. It's all stuff you guys don't have to fret about, from a rules perspective, but I'm hoping it will come across as effective in a pbp as it does at the table.

Alright, Three, I believe that puts you at complete as well, unless you would like to link everything for the extra feat.

That's Three and Khravos verified done.

Male Human Film producer 3 Film director 2 Real estate investor 1

Alright, Watches-Shadow-Behind-You, let's give you 30 HP, and 30 Reserve HP. (Con + Base class max HP +10).

you are disabled from 0 to -1 (ConMod), and bleed out until -HP, or -30.

You have 1 Destiny Point. You may use this at any time for automatic success. 1/ level.

Roll 1d6+5 for Hero points, as per Pathfinder rules.

Reflex let's make +3, rather than +2 (for your IntMod being larger than your DexMod).

And let's make your Initiative modifier +3...I match it to Reflex saves, so it progresses over levels.

You have two feats currently...1st level and...? I think I'm just missing it. Lol. Fog.

You have formatted yours, so you do gain a bonus Trait. Make sure one of the three is a Campaign trait, if you would. Any campaign is fine.

Your Defense should be +2, tch +1, FF +1, I believe. AC is 12 (for reference.)

OK, so

AC +4,
comes from Shield (+2), Dex (+1), and Dodge(+1)

tch +2,
comes from Dex (+1) and Dodge (+1)

and
FF +0
comes from not being able to use either?

And

Is all that correct?

Male Human Film producer 3 Film director 2 Real estate investor 1

Correct, the only thing you get (currently with your stats) for FF is Armor bonus, which in this case is DR. You aren't reacting (FF), so no shield bonus, or Dex or Dodge.

0 to -1 disabled, -2 to -30 unconscious

0 to -2 disabled, -3 to -38 unconscious

I thought there was a slight variation on warforged at negative HP...can't find it at the moment...

RHP 36 / HP 36

I'd prefer you roll my stuff, there are a lot more modifications to rules in this game than i initially expected, and it is kinda a lot for me to keep track of so if you roll it'd be easier for me.

Correct, the only thing you get (currently with your stats) for FF is Armor bonus, which in this case is DR. You aren't reacting (FF), so no shield bonus, or Dex or Dodge.

0 to -1 disabled, -2 to -30 unconscious

OK, did and done.

I think the only thing I haven't done is make an alt.

I can totally roll it. There are some modifications, and I figure for you guys, you won't even have to bother too much, as I'll handle most of them, and they are easy enough to pick up as you go. :)

Yeah, I think that is the only thing left that I can see off-hand, Khravos. :)

Daxur, throw up your height and weight on your sheet, and eye color and skin tone, perhaps. :) Oh, and your age, lol.

Also, change your draconic language to arcane. They are actually separate for me. :)

Everyone who doesn't have their age listed, please do so. :)
