"Witton went under with the beast. Why a green watchman would attack such a thing is beyond me. I had it handled. Now, if one of you wants to throw your life away to try to save him, be my guest. I don't fancy a dip in the bay with this armor on. If that thing comes back up, get the f%~+ out of its way. Your job is to protect the people, not kill it. I will kill it if it comes back up. If it doesn't run away, anyway. I got a good slash on it."
Garrick breathes out, and takes in the scene and the expressions on the watchmens' faces.
"Bottom line, this thing is a hunter, not a demon, I think. It is a predator, but a wounded one. I think if I don't manage to kill it, it will run away, but it will kill anyone unlucky enough to be caught out in the open. Catch my meaning?"
Daxur |
"#3 has the right of it. 'Twas a might conflagration, Miss Kendra! Knocked me head over heels! " Daxur chuckles, remembering the event fondly.
"Curious though, the three armed mutant took something from Master Vindor. But he denies knowing what or that it happened at all. " he says, looking pointedly at the dripping man.

It's hard to tell, but something appears to be coming towards the surface from where the Rhagodessa went under.

Suddenly a hand bursts out of the water, grabbing onto the rope that Garrick tied down.
Heaving himself up, sputtering and coughing, the Watchman Witton gasps for air as the seawater churns around him. He clings desperately to the rope, and his head dips back under the water.

Suddenly, the rope goes taught. Something heavy is on the end of it. Thunder booms.
Heaving, Garrick and the two Watchmen pull, dragging the rope across the edge of the dock. When the loop finally appears, it is not Witton in it...it is the limp body of the Rhagodessa.
Witton has a hold of the rope around the great creature, his head appearing with a loud gasp.
"I got 'im!"
Daxur |
"Very possible, Miss Kendra. Improbable, yes, but as we three saw with our own eyes, very very real. Now then, it would take some doing of course and a willing, if unhinged, individual willing to undergo the probably painful transformation.....but, yes....possible." Daxur says, heroically stopping himself from launching into a full on lecuture on the transformagorical possibilities of the arcan sciences.
Sorry, got a bit busy there :)

"They were, m'lady Deverin." Ven replies, ducking his head.
"Ven, please, it's Kendra, as I've said. I'm not the Mayor. The formality is unnecessary."
He nods, obviously uncomfortable with the idea. "These three fought a grip of goblins. There was the three-armed one, as they say. He were riding a pony. Said he's kill all of us."

"Master ir'Kraal. Thank you for helping. What the bloody hell happened?"
Garrick ir'Kraal |
"Satinder went to check on the boat once more, following a halfling friend of mine. Which reminds me, some watchmen should go check on the boat as well to see what is taking Satinder so long. Men were ordered to quarantine the area to minimize civilian casualties."

"Get me something to put this...thing...into, Gert. If it's alive, it needs to be bound. Quick now." One of the Watchmen, who was starting to 'hip hip' at Witton, stops and ducks his head at the Sheriff. "Yes sir, Sheriff."
"It was on that ship?" the Sheriff asks, pointing at the Demon's dream as Gert leaves. "Who owns it?"
Daxur |
Daxur waves off Khavros' apology, "No worry. I consider my distant cousins as you would a baboon or monkey. I don't mind their example, it just illustrates my own abilities that much better." he says with an impish grin.
Said grin widens at Kendra's mention of a celebration, "Do tell, Miss Kendra, do tell."

The cloud dumps water onto the flames around the hole, putting most of them out before it vanishes. Steam billows up as the flames are extinguished; however, smoke continues to pour from the hole below decks. A hellish glow tints the smoke, accompanied by a roar of flames from below.
Satinder Hawkes |
"Now, hold on," Satinder says as he follows Watches-Shadow-Behind-You through the crates, "dammit, would you just--"
He stops abruptly, his eyes widening at the site of the burning deck. As Watches-Shadow-Behind-You's conjured cloud douses the immediate flames, he tentatively steps beyond the halfling to peer into the hole.
"This . . . this is bad." He turns back to look at Watches-Shadow-Behind-You, worry creeping into his voice. "The stove, the one that got knocked over when that--that thing attacked. It must have burned straight through the floor. There's no telling how far the fire's already spread below-decks."
