The docks:
The sailor brings Satinder a cup of water. It's warm, but does the job.

Male Goblin Wizard 1 HP:17 /17 AC:16 F+4 R+6 W +5 Perception:+3

Team Wagon:

As the goblins charge, Daxur brings his crossbow down from his shoulder and fires...

Attack, crossbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Reacting to the goblin's yell, Daxur yells back in Goblin "Ég er ekki systir, þú ósæmilegu"

He then collects himself, and muttering words of power , lightly touches the metal plates of #3's back.

"დიდი დიდი დიდი"

Team wagon:
Daxur re-positions the goblin with the yellow painted eyes, and takes a step back, pulling out his crossbow. He fires it point-blank at the goblin, but misses in his haste. The bolt slams into Khravos's wooden greave, but doesn't hurt his shin!

Keeping his distance from the goblin engaged with Engineer #3, Daxur casts his spell on him. Engineer #3 doubles in size, to 12 feet tall, and 600 lbs.!

Engineer #3 ooc:
You gain a +2 size bonus to Strength, a -2 size penalty to Dexterity (to a minimum of 1), and a -1 penalty on attack rolls and AC due to your increased size.

Crunch:
Daxur's accidental shot on Khravos: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 vs. Khravos Defense: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8, doing 1d6 ⇒ 3 points of damage, which is absorbed by Khravos's DR 3/armor.

Male Halfling Shaman 1

Docks:

"Here," the small shaman says tapping his staff on the ground, "I think I saw my granddaughter over there few minutes ago, but she disappeared after I was able to get through the crowd."

The docks:
The Lieutenant nods curtly at Watches-Shadow-Behind-You. "Your granddaughter? And you are?"

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:

Garrick examines the area, before asking the lieutenant, "Have you seen any halfling females running around here?"

After getting an answer, he will ask Satinder the same thing, and inform him that there is one such halfling female missing.

The docks:
"There are always a few, sure. We get fewer of the short folk out this far west, mind," the Lieutenant says, nodding at Watches-Shadow-Behind-You. "But with the Festival of dreams starting...we have hundreds of visitors from all over Khorvaire at the moment.

One of the watchmen, a squat human with a weak jaw, approaches Lieutenant Hemlock. "Sir, looks like there were a few minor injuries. We don't know yet if this was an accident, a malfunction, or malicious."

"Thank you. Have you seen Mr. Hawkes? I'd appreciate his professional assessment of the situation."

"Not for a bit, sir. I'll see if I can track him down."

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:

Garrick will accompany the watchman to find Satinder so that he may also ask his question.

Male Halfling Shaman 1

"I am a healer," Watches-Shadow-Behind-You says, "I heard you have wounded. May I help tend to them?"

Male Human

Team Docks:

After rinsing the worst of the vomit taste from his mouth, Satinder makes his way back down the gangplanks to the docks. He seeks out Garrick and notices with interest the elderly Halfling has returned.

"Interesting developments, Garrick," Satinder says, raising his notebook. "Hemlock will probably want to hear about this."

He turns to the Halfling and gives a slight bow.

"I see that you didn't suffer too much from your earlier blow, and it seems you already know my partner. My name is Satinder Hawkes."

The docks:
Lieutenant Hemlock walks back up to the two of you, speaking with Watches-Shadow-Behind-You. "We would appreciate any help. Thank you," he says, smiling reservedly. He nods at Satinder. "Master Hawkes is here in Sandpoint helping the Mayor. What did you find, Satinder?"

Male Kalashtar Psychic Warrior (Pathwalker)/1 HP: 30/30 RHP: 5/30 Power Points: 4/5

Team Wagon:
Feeling the thud of a crossbow bold against his leg, Khravos casts a suspicious glance back at Daxur, before realizing it was an accident. Khravos instead wades into the midst of the goblins, spearing out at one with his scizore, and using his forwrad momentum to propel a spinning kick out to the side at a second

crunch:

(move if necessary, or step, to get into reach of 2 goblins) using Flurry Strike to get 2 attacks:

docks:
"Have we found anything out about how all the cargo fell?"

The Wagon:
Khravos whips his scizore around and slashes the goblin to his right, and continues the spin to kick the goblin on his left in the head, taking them both down. For a moment, he stands alone.

The goblin fighting Engineer #3 dodges away from his stomping foot, trying to slash him, but loses its footing and falls prone. An arrow pangs off Engineer #3's plating, while another sails wide, missing its mark, shot from the two remaining goblin archers.

Shouts go up from behind Daxur and Engineer #3. Glancing behind him, Daxur see's another pack of goblins, separate from the first, approaching from the same direction as the originals. Five reinforcements come running at the party! The first goblin, a female wearing bad makeup charges Daxur, waiving her dogslicer over her head, but he slams his shoulder into her, bull rushing her back ten feet. Another, missing its right ear, charges him as well, and Daxur ducks under the swing.

A goblin wearing a huge fur coat charges and tries to stab Engineer #3, but he steps out of the way quick enough, while another of the new goblins shoots Engineer #3 with his shortbow, and the arrow finds purchase in his arm joint, but falls out immediately.

The last goblin is walking slowly towards you, swinging a short sword, and laughing.

Daxur and Engineer #3 are closest to this new laughing goblin, about 40 ft. away, with Khravos being another 20 ft. away.

Khravos and Daxur:
Out of the corner of your eye, as you take down the two goblins that were attacking you, (Daxur see's this as well), you notice Ven running, and then crash to the ground, tackled by the Three-armed goblin! He has run in the opposite direction of the approaching five goblins and Engineer #3 and Daxur, leaving you the closest to him, at about 60 ft. away from you, and 80 ft. away from Three and Daxur. Are you going to help Daxur and Engineer #3 with the new goblins, or go after Ven, and the three-armed goblin?

Crunch:
Goblin minion #1 attacks Engineer #3 with his dogslicer: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 vs. Engineer #3's CMD trip: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22. Goblin minion #1 falls prone. Engineer #3 is out of reactions.

Goblin minion #2 fires his shortbow at Engineer #3: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 vs. Engineer #3's Defense: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2, hitting for 1 point of damage which is absorbed by Engineer #3's DR 3/armor (1/3).

Goblin minion #5 shoots Engineer #3 with her shortbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 vs. Engineer #3's Defense: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16, missing.

Goblin minion #7 charges 40 ft. and attacks Daxur with her dogslicer: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 vs. Daxur's CMD Bull rush: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16, and Daxur shoves her back 10 ft. Daxur is out of reactions.

Goblin minion #8 charges 45 ft. and attacks Daxur with his dogslicer: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 vs. Daxur's Defense: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15, missing.

Goblin minion #9 charges 50 ft. and flanks Engineer #3 with goblin minion #1 (prone, no bonus): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 vs. Engineer #3's Defense: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14, missing.

Goblin minion #10 from 35 ft. away shoots Engineer #3 with a shortbow: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11 vs. Engineer #3's Defense: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5, hitting for 1 HP, which is absorbed by his DR 3/armor (2/3).

Daxur's Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20, Engineer #3's Perception: 1d20 - 6 ⇒ (8) - 6 = 2, Allishanda's Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 11, and Khravos's Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21 vs. DC 17. Khravos and Daxur becomes aware.

Watches-Shadow-Behind-You:
You spend several minutes moving among the people, using your folksy wisdom ;) It should take to the end of the scene, but I'll let you know if the conversation has moved forward enough. You will be close enough that they could call out to you, and you would be able to respond.

Male Human

Team Docks:

"I think I have a fair idea of what happened. As far as I can tell, a child from the Demon's Dream decided to pick a sailor's pocket while he was operating the jib, and when the sailor gave chase the jib gave way."

Satinder hesitates before continuing.

"Except, that doesn't quite add up. The jibs on this dock are from House Orien, and they've got built-in fail-safes for when the jib is carrying a load and someone's not in the seat. It's possible that the jib that dropped the cargo is just old or faulty, but I'm afraid that sabotage of some kind seems more likely. I don't have any clear evidence of that, though."

DM Crunch:

Bluff: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26 to avoid giving away that he knows more about his sabotage theory than he's telling.

Sizing up the threat of the new arrivals, Khravos reluctantly leaves the new threat to his companions as he rushes off to rescue Ven from the overabundant clutches of the goblin.

The docks:
"Thank you, Master Hawkes," the Lieutenant says, shaking Satinder's hand. "You're a fine addition to our city, and I'm glad to have you."

"You as well, Master ir'Kraal. Who were your two friends? They just arrived?" Lieutenant Hemlock glances up the hill after the man in black, and then gestures at Watches-Shadow-Behind-You. The older Halfling is a little ways away, stooped in front of a sailor, whose arm is bloody.

Crunch:
Lieutenant Hemlock's Sense motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10, Garrick's Sense motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11.

The wagon:
Khravos runs to aid Ven, as the three-armed goblin stands, unaware of Khravos's approach.

Khravos ooc:
Khravos, he is unaware, so does not get to act, and is Flat-footed. Your turn, starting your 4th round, even though Daxur and Engineer #3 are both on round 3. :)

Crunch:

docks:

"Well, the small one is Watches-Shadow-Behind-You, a friend from my days on the Karrnath-Talenta border. The other one, who is now likely going up the hill to slander my name to the mayor, was a rival of sorts when I was enlisted, though to hear him tell it, he doesn't realize the past-tense nature of our rivalry."

The docks:
"Watching the shadows...what?" he says, chuckling. "Halflings are an odd people. Is he...rubbing mud on that sailors arm?" He shakes his head, watching Watches-Shadow-Behind-You assist another injured person.

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:

He spies the larger #3 out of the corner of his eye, "Well that wasn't entirely useless" he thinks to himself, then backs up around #3 to put the metal man between himself and the ear-less goblin.

Slapping a bolt into his crossbow, he aims and fires at the crazy female...

The wagon:
Daxur steps back, reloading his crossbow and fires at the female goblin in front of him, but the bolt slams into the dirt just behind her.

Daxur ooc:
I'm going to move you back with a 5 ft. step, have you reload your Light crossbow as a Move Action, and attack. So you are 5 ft. away from the one-eared goblin, next to Engineer #3, and 10 ft. from the goblin you just shot at. :)

Male Human

Team Docks:

Satinder glances over to where Watches-Shadows-Behind-You is ministering to the injured and sighs.

"Primitive healing rituals. My mother's treatments when I was young were similar. Our customs probably seem just as strange to him, though."

He looks back at Garrick, cocking his head slightly.

"Two old acquaintances on the same day?" He smiles. "And on the same day as an accident that involved both of them, no less. My old master would probably find a mystery to be solved in that."

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:

"It wouldn't surprise me if he was involved." Garrick says, nodding his head toward where the man in black stalked. "Though I don't immediately suspect anything insidious, he could be trying to make problems for me or have done something out of random cruelty that caused this. If you want to question him, it couldn't hurt, though I'm quite sure he wouldn't cooperate with me being the one asking the questions."

Male Halfling Shaman 1

Docks:

Watches-Shadow-Behind-You continues tending the wounds of the injured but also assuaging the anxiety in the aftermath of the accident. As he bandages wounds, he chats with the people about what brought them to the docks to put them at ease. He'll make a mental note of any information about the man-in-black or how the accident occurred.

Diplomacy (Gather Information): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Male Human

Team Docks:

Satinder gives Garrick an odd look.

"I was making a joke, Garrick. That accident nearly killed him, never mind the fact that he wasn't anywhere close to the jib's controls. And if he had accomplices, then I must say that as master plans go it's ridiculously complicated for no real payoff.

"Besides," he says, his smile vanishiing, "I'm not an inspector anymore. It's not my job, not my place, to ask questions like that."

The docks:
"Even so, we are glad for your assistance," the Lieutenant says, smiling.

Watches-Shadow-Behind-You:

"Yeah, I saw the pointy-eared boy by the crane," the young dwarf girl says as Watches-Shadow-Behind-You tends to her scraped knee, her eyes still red. Her knee was fine, but she was pretty shaken up from the scare. " I don't know why he tries to hide his ears under his brown hair, we all know. It's not like they're bad. I think they're kind of neat looking."

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:
"Yeah, I honestly don't think he had a part in it, as much as I dislike the bastard. Well, as much as he dislikes me. I haven't thought of him in years, so it is somewhat odd that he would just show up and this incident occur at the same time. He said he was paying respects to his dead wife, but I don't recall him having one. Maybe she was a new thing or maybe I just didn't care enough to notice before. Never was one for romance."

The docks:
The Lieutenant nods. "Where did you know him?"

Watches-Shadow-Behind-You:
The heavy-set half-orc woman smiles at Watches-Shadow-Behind-You, as he blows soft puffs of air onto her scalp, where a bit of debris cut her forehead. "I saw you with that little girl. Kids are very accepting, but most folks..." she says the last word as if she means a different one, "aren't so willing to trust in ways so 'uncivilized'. I grew up near Arashuul, right before the Shadow Marches gained independence, and before Breland lost Droaam as well. You're good people."

"This boat, the Demon's dream...its cursed. Bad omen for the Festival of dreams."

Watches-Shadow-Behind-You ooc:
You can wander back to the group now.

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:

"We served together in the war. He was, at the time, a senior officer in my unit, but my father was in command of the unit so you can imagine what sorts of problems that caused. A big part of his anger likely stems from jealousy."

Male Human

Team Docks:

Satinder's eyebrows raise.

"I didn't know your father was military as well, Garrick. What was his name?"

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:
"He goes by 'Sir' or 'Colonel', depending on who is doing the addressing. He gave lectures at the academy, when last I spoke to him. As I have not received word of his passing, i am to assume he continues to do so." Garrick says, attempting to brush away mention of the matter. "The man in black there is Captain Jarek Prath. Not a fan of mine nor my father's. He believes I was given preferential treatment by my father, but I don't recall Jarek having bested me in any situation."

The docks:
"And you were a First Lieutenant under him. I see," says Lieutenant Hemlock, nodding. "Served under a Sergeant like that, north of Silver Lake. I would've liked to skin him alive."

RHP 36 / HP 36

docks:

"Yeah, the thing is, he is bothered by me a lot more than I am by him. He was in intel, I was in in ops. So while what he did was important in a way, we were the ones really putting blade to flesh. The military was my life, the war was my life. I have moved past that, and it appears that he hasn't."

Male Human

Team Docks:

Satinder narrows his eyes slightly at Garrick's obvious avoidance of his question, but he decides not to press. For now.

"Some people really know how to hold a grudge, I suppose. I wonder what he's really doing here. I know you said he claimed rites for the dead, but this is a long, long way to come for something like that, and he doesn't seem like the kind of man to take vacations."

The docks:
Hemlock purses his lips. "Another coincidence that he arrives here at the beginning of the Festival of dreams?"

The wagon:
The prone goblin, upon seeing his friend get turned into a goblin-berry jam, stands as Engineer #3 kicks at him, missing. Engineer #3 bellows out his warning, causing the goblin to stumble back and turn to flee, as another arrow pangs of Engineer #3's thigh. The other two remaining archers drop their bows and flee, joined by the goblin wearing the awful makeup.

The goblin waving the shortsword charges Engineer #3, screaming, and slashes him across his shins, the blade scraping deep.

The goblin with the missing ear yells happily, and steps up to slash at Daxur, who tries to grab its wrist and throw it to the ground, but instead ends up getting cut across his left bicep.

Daxur and Engineer #3 ooc:

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 CMB for grapple

Grapple Rules wrote:

Grapple

As a standard action, you can attempt to grapple a foe, hindering his combat options. If you do not have Improved Grapple, grab, or a similar ability, attempting to grapple a foe provokes an attack of opportunity from the target of your maneuver. Humanoid creatures without two free hands attempting to grapple a foe take a –4 penalty on the combat maneuver roll. If successful, both you and the target gain the grappled condition (see the Appendices). If you successfully grapple a creature that is not adjacent to you, move that creature to an adjacent open space (if no space is available, your grapple fails). Although both creatures have the grappled condition, you can, as the creature that initiated the grapple, release the grapple as a free action, removing the condition from both you and the target. If you do not release the grapple, you must continue to make a check each round, as a standard action, to maintain the hold. If your target does not break the grapple, you get a +5 circumstance bonus on grapple checks made against the same target in subsequent rounds. Once you are grappling an opponent, a successful check allows you to continue grappling the foe, and also allows you to perform one of the following actions (as part of the standard action spent to maintain the grapple).

Move: You can move both yourself and your target up to half your speed. At the end of your movement, you can place your target in any square adjacent to you. If you attempt to place your foe in a hazardous location, such as in a wall of fire or over a pit, the target receives a free attempt to break your grapple with a +4 bonus.

Damage: You can inflict damage to your target equal to your unarmed strike, a natural attack, or an attack made with armor spikes or a light or one-handed weapon. This damage can be either lethal or nonlethal.

Pin: You can give your opponent the pinned condition (see Conditions). Despite pinning your opponent, you still only have the grappled condition, but you lose your Dexterity bonus to AC.

Tie Up: If you have your target pinned, otherwise restrained, or unconscious, you can use rope to tie him up. This works like a pin effect, but the DC to escape the bonds is equal to 20 + your Combat Maneuver Bonus (instead of your CMD). The ropes do not need to make a check every round to maintain the pin. If you are grappling the target, you can attempt to tie him up in ropes, but doing so requires a combat maneuver check at a –10 penalty. If the DC to escape from these bindings is higher than 20 + the target's CMB, the target cannot escape from the bonds, even with a natural 20 on the check.

If You Are Grappled: If you are grappled, you can attempt to break the grapple as a standard action by making a combat maneuver check (DC equal to your opponent's CMD; this does not provoke an attack of opportunity) or Escape Artist check (with a DC equal to your opponent's CMD). If you succeed, you break the grapple and can act normally. Alternatively, if you succeed, you can become the grappler, grappling the other creature (meaning that the other creature cannot freely release the grapple without making a combat maneuver check, while you can). Instead of attempting to break or reverse the grapple, you can take any action that doesn't require two hands to perform, such as cast a spell or make an attack or full attack with a light or one-handed weapon against any creature within your reach, including the creature that is grappling you. See the grappled condition for additional details. If you are pinned, your actions are very limited. See the pinned condition in Conditions for additional details.

Multiple Creatures: Multiple creatures can attempt to grapple one target. The creature that first initiates the grapple is the only one that makes a check, with a +2 bonus for each creature that assists in the grapple (using the Aid Another action). Multiple creatures can also assist another creature in breaking free from a grapple, with each creature that assists (using the Aid Another action) granting a +2 bonus on the grappled creature's combat maneuver check.
