I should probably do this more than once a year. I backtracked posts all the way to last May to collect the loot list. I didn't see any side pay-outs or expenditures, but speak up if you see anything missing/wrong.

Braelex will Appraise (Take 10): 10 + 15 = 25 for each of the valuables, and properly identify the remaining magic items.

Bolded the things awaiting ID. Also, what is the "bluish substance in vials (3 doses)"? Braelex can use the lab to identify, if required. Craft (alchemy): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30

Other: small light crossbow, small mwk leather armor, small mwk aklys, small repeating light crossbow, small short sword, mwk alchemists lab, 4 vials of acid, 2 doses of spider poison, surgical tools (200 gpv), drugs (3 doses of id moss, 2 doses of striped toadstool, 10 doses of flayleaf, 8 doses of pesh)

Coin: 900 gp (from sinspawn bounty), 500 gp (from tapestry), 232 gp, 1,423 sp, 2,100 cp (from derro lair)

Any claims? Braelex would like the alchemist lab and can carry the 2 elixirs. I'd say sell the drugs (need a value).


You can sell the drugs ... at risk ... on the black market. They're illegal in Magnimaar. You'll get full price, but there's a chance you'll be caught and thrown in jail

You missed a couple things: the box that I sent the picture of identifies as an extraction scarificator (stats below), the injection spear and the 12 doses of mold that are in it and in vials as well, which Braelex identifies as frostspore

Extraction Scarificator:

Aura faint conjuration and transmutation; CL 3rd Slot none; Price 2,500 gp; Weight 1 lb.

DESCRIPTION
An extraction scarificator is a horrid variant of the more common bloodletting device used by healers and doctors. An extraction scarificator can be used only on a willing or helpless target. When placed against exposed flesh, the extraction scarificator’s blades deal 1d4 points of damage plus 1d4 bleed. Once per day, an extraction scarificator can be used to extract and concentrate one of the four bodily humors from its target as well. The humor to be extracted can be adjusted as needed, and must be immediately poured into a potion vial or the extracted humor is lost. Extracting a humor takes a variable number of rounds—as soon as the victim has taken a total of 6 points of damage in all from the bleed effect, the extraction is complete. For 24 hours after extraction, this purified humor has an additional effect, functioning as one of four potions as listed below (all function at caster level 3rd).

Black Bile: potion of lesser restoration
Blood: potion of cure moderate wounds
Phlegm: potion of calm emotions
Yellow Bile: potion of rage

CONSTRUCTION
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, bleed, [i]calm emotions, cure moderate wounds, lesser restoration, rage; Cost 1,250 gp

Frostspore:
This blend of brown mold spores in a pale blue solution feels cool to the touch.

Frostspore: poison—ingested or injury; save Fortitude DC 13; frequency 1/round for 6 rounds; effect 1d6 cold damage plus staggered for 1 round; cure 2 saves; cost 100 gp. The Pathfinder Society will buy these at full price since they are new finds

The three vials identify as cytillesh extract

Cytillesh Extract:
Brewed from the spores of the glowing blue fungus called cytillesh (or “brain mold”), this extract is often used by derros to cloud minds and instill amnesia in their victims.

Cytillesh Extract: poison—ingested; save Fortitude DC 18; frequency 1/hour for 8 hours; effect victim loses all memory of events that took place in the previous hour and cannot form new memories as long as he remains poisoned—after he recovers, the time spent poisoned (plus the hour before his poisoning) is simply missing from memory (these missing memories might return later as dreams, and can be returned with a restoration or heal spell); cure 2 saves; cost 800 gp. The PFS will buy these at full price

She's not really a poisoner, so unless someone else wants to keep them, I'm for selling the extracts. I don't know about that extracterator thing...

Yes, Natalyas contacts will buy at 50% but there's less risk.

What skill is on the headband?

Aidon will be taking Craft Wonderous Item so start looking at things you will want, it's 1/day per 1k of item cost but he can build it for 50% cost

He is building something for himself and then it will just be first request worked on first


Headband grants Knowledge (Arcana)


Also, you're under zero time pressure, so take whatever you need for crafting. You're essentially only limited by money.

I would be interested in the +1 buckler but it most likely makes way more sense for almost anyone else to have it, but out of the list of items it's the only thing I am interested in.

I am happy with just selling and taking the cash and making my own items.

First, I am unsure how we are dividing up loot - just handing it out to who needs it?

Second, Relan would like that Golembane Scarab.

Third, the ioun stone that will remove the curse from the current shard is 8K. The flawed stone is 6K and might not fully mitigate the curse. At 8K its cheaper for Relan to buy 3K worth of jewelry, which tides him over for this level and the next. the +2 to strength would be nice though.

Fourth, Relan has a 13 Int already and a handful of knowledge skills. If he had the +2 Int item he would have 9 knowledge skills and be decent at them in the +6 to +7 range. If no one else needs it Relan could wear it. Or sell it and split the money. Or, better yet, try to trade it in on a stat item the party needs more. ??? If we can't trade it with some advantage selling it yields the gold to craft another stat item we might need more.

Fifth, Here is the open quest summary:
1) Search the Crow for the next shard -- report back to Sheila (reward 4 PP + shard)

2)Quest from Lord Heidmarch for any unusual/new Thasillonian stuff - We have anything yet?

3) A local alchemist named Aleric is paying 500 gold pieces per sinspawn, head that you bring him.

We turned in the heads... we only got 900 gold for them, though.

As for loot, "need before greed" is the general rule. We can sell whatever's unused and split the gold.

I have no objections to Relan taking the headband, or we can sell it and all chip in towards the ioun stone. That might be a fair group plan for all the shards, as we find them.

Note most ioun stones have a minimum level as a requirement (the ones you need are 12th level, I believe) ... can't spellcraft your way around that one.

The expectation is that we'll group fund each ioun stone as we get more shards. Will hurt at lower levels, but should be more manageable later.

I actually thought I retconned the reward after Relan reminded me that it was 500 per head for 5 heads, but looks like I never replied to his post.

He would pay 500 for each of the first 3 and 100 each after that. So that calculates to 1700 for the 5 heads you turned in instead of 900.

All, heading to my sister's wedding shortly ... no major updates for the game from me, but we can work level ups, treasure, memorized spells to have it all complete by Sunday. I'd like to get the first post for Chapter 2: Curse of the Lady's Light out on Sunday evening.


Andel is taking a level of bard

Hit Points: 1d4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 1 = 4

Any thoughts on his feat, 2 2nd level spells and 9 skill ranks.

He will also gain a magic item at this level of some sort.

Purchases: Instead of spending 8K of party funds for relax right now, how about letting him borrow 3K to get his jewelry. Jewelry sells for full price so there is little or no loss in the buy/sell transitions and as far as I can tell the cracked stone + the jeweler effectively negates the curse as well as the 8K stone.

Do not get me wrong, a +2 enchantment bonus to strength would be wonderful, but for now I'd rather see that money going to either getting the next ioun stone or better equipment all around. Heck, 5K a Stat item and a Pearl of Power. :)

Hmm. Taking this to a logical conclusion, at 8th level Relan will have to wear 4K of jewerly. Another 4K (the price of a +2 stat item) would buy the needed ioun stone. Since Relan wants stat items, it would make good sense at that time to upgrade to the stone.

once we see how much cash we have after selling and claiming items I would be better able to say if I can contribute to the Ioun Stone collection box. There are a couple of items I really want to make for myself and I don't know what I will be able to afford.

This might be a good item for Relan, simply from an RP perspective.

For Andel, I would spread his skill pts across his knowledge skills, perception and UMD. For his feat, improved initiative or lingering performance would both be useful. For the 2nd level spell, Allegro and Heroism would both be solid.


I know you all are waiting on the split ... since we're not in a time rush, I'll go ahead and start the next adventure shortly to help you plan your spells and preps (and maybe gear to buy, though you wont have that much information ... other than you'll be leaving the city)

Also ... for Relan ...

Relan Only:

Although mechanically there are no penalties once you buy enough jewelry to wear and maintain that amount through level ups, Relan's personality will be dominated by greed and you should play him that way as long as the curse isn't fully suppressed. Over time, I may inject other stuff as you hold the shard longer, but for now your interpretation of playing a greedy non-altruistic character (maintaining your alignment for now) should be fine. And this is greed for money/wealth versus power ... for now.

Looking over the loot I had a few questions and comments.

I think the injection spear is worth 100 gp. Is that right?

The Lenses of Detection are mighty fine, and no one has claimed them. They are worth 3500 gp and give +5 to both perception and Survival for tracking. Maybe Fullman? This would give him +15 Perception and +19 track based on his current stats (not sure if has leveled). Those are solid numbers at our level.

I hate to sell the scroll of water breathing. Someone claim it. Same with the two potions of Cure Mod.

I am fine with Aidon claiming the +1 buckler, but wanted to warn that it has an arcane spell failure chance of 5%. Not sure if you can ignore that or not.

So, based on my quick and dirty spreadsheet if we were to sell everything (and sell poisons safely) it would net 17157.8 gold. But if we keep everything claimed plus the items I mention above the cut drops to 9532.5. Relan does not need to keep the Headband that badly and is willing to sell it, upping the total to 11532.5.

Braelex, if you send me an email I will send you my spreadsheet with the values I plugged in so you can compare with your numbers.

Aidon mainly only uses his Summon Ability which doesn't suffer from arcane failure, but I will keep that in mind for any spells he casts.

I would rather try and find a mithril one at some point and if there is a more front line person that wants it please by all means take it, just if no one is going to use it I would put it to use.

OK. We keep the following:

Everything else sells for half price except the couple new things like Frostspore and cytillesh extract that sell for full. Tapestry also sells for full.

New Total = 11512.5

Even Split = 2302.5 This, with what he has on him, lets Relan buy 2500 gp of jewelry and some nice clothes. Note that there is no buffer there for next level.

Split IF we buy the Ioun Stone (selling the cracked stone) and Relan does not take a share = 903.125.


Also, don't forget the monuments ... info is in your journals if anyone wants to hit one before you leave the city. A couple of you have the monument scholar trait, I believe.

Any other inputs on Andel?

Any thoughts on the unresolved quests? This will be my last post on that if no one has any ideas.
