Lia Tani |

I doubt that particular street urchin would be in a good mood, either...after we destroyed her lair.

Lia Tani |

I prefer hedgin' hedgehogs.
That said, i do have a soft spot for street urchins. Just not when they are just pretending and are really soul-farming murderous Lamia.

Rojava Brishen |

I doubt an urchin would be lairing there. If they were they would have been completely urched by now.

Lia Tani |

Whatchya got against getting a little murdery?
Absolutely nothing. But at the right table, with the right characters.
If there is random murder, depravity and acts that make Slaneesh take notes, I want to be part of it.

Just checking to keep the momentum going. It sounds like we're mostly done here at the shrine. If someone wants to do an individual/group cleaning post, that's fine. But then it sounds like we're taking Fran to the Cathedral of Abadar in the Naos district, reporting the activities in the shrine to the authorities, and then heading down to Dockway to the Old Fang. Possibly all as a group. And then going to the dinner with the Lord Mayor unless something else comes up.
Depending on which pieces of that you want to play out, at least some of it can be handwaved or narrated along. The next story-critical scene is the dinner. So if someone wants to do something specific at one of these locations, go ahead and post there and we'll go for it. Otherwise, I'll assume (by Monday) that we can get to the dinner.

Karmid Groundbreaker |

Hand waving is fine by me. I don’t mind helping clean the shrine, the we can hit the church, and then pick up Fran’s personal effects on the way to dinner.

GM Polyfrequencies |

As we go into this scene, I'll just remind the group of the letter you found in the rubble of the Shadow Clocktower
My sister—
I trust your little band of murderers is doing well, gathering the greedy souls for our Lord’s rise? Has Magnimar proven to be as sinful as you had hoped? It may interest you to know that my plan to nurture greed here in this backwater has blossomed—the quality of greed in a soul is so much more refined when it is given the proper care. Are you still simply carving the Sihedron on them as they expire? How crude! My method of marking is so much more elegant. In any event, I’m sure that your plans for harvesting greed where and when you can find it “in the wild” are progressing well enough—I just hope that your raw, ungroomed, and likely inferior victims don’t interact poorly when mixed with the purity of my own subjects. If you tire of your little project there, know that you’re always welcome to come to Turtleback Ferry and serve as my assistant, little sister! Fort Rannick should be in our control by the time you receive this letter, in any event, so there’ll be plenty of room for you if you wish to take me up on my generous offer.
Oh! Before I forget! Have you managed to harvest that lord-mayor yet? By all accounts, he might just be the cream of the crop in Magnimar—his soul might even rival several from my hand-grown harvest!

Lia Tani |

I'm good. I'm happy the shrine gets somewhat restored, I'm sure despite the burying taking a chunk of the time we got a lot done during those 2 hours.
Since Fran comes out clean, I'm also happy moving through Coin Central swiftly.
No strong feelings on picking up Frans stuff.
A lot to read, though, I won't manage to get a post up during my lunch break - I'll try to later today.

Drasven Hammers |

I'm good with handwave. Would like to pal around with myt fellow church mates in game but Rl dictates that I treat my back.
I just found out recently to my horror that when doctors need to inject pain killers directly to a hard to reach area, that needle is terribly long and thin?

Karmid Groundbreaker |

Apologies all:
I hate to pile on, but it may be difficult for me to jump on and post for the next few days or so. My father has been at home in hospice care for over 2 years now and things seem to be suddenly accelerating today according to my sister.
Please bot me where/when needed, and I will attempt to stay up to date and post when I can in the near future.

Karmid Groundbreaker |

As much as it can.
He's doing a little better, but the nurses say it won't be long. We are not there yet...but he's lived more than a year longer than any doctor ever predicted he would too.

Karmid Groundbreaker |

So between the city's reward and the Loot Sheet money divided that's
12700gp + 6,750gp = 19,450gps each.
Karmid's going shoppin'!
Are we paying only listed prices, or is there a 10% tax (or whatever) for magical items??

Karmid Groundbreaker |

My current shopping list from the items available in the city:
Gloves, Deliquescent
Bag of Tricks (Rust)
Cloak of the Hedge Wizard
Swan Boat Feather Token
Tree Feather Token
Wasp Nest of Swarming
Current Total: 20,850gps (I should have enough money saved up to cover the remainder)

Lia Tani |

Lia is not paying attention to the corrupt, foppish man.
No hate on her part, she's simply ignoring him.
Flutter, on the other hand...

Flutter, Figment Sage Butterfly |

Hej Issy, for what it's worth, Flutter does share your concern.
The blithe assessment is playing the audience - the Mayor seems to not have a very high opinion of the region, the Rangers, or Erastil in general.
Flutter figured that we more likely to get more support for this by framing things in a way that adheres to his view - technically the location is quite far away and, for the city, a remote and backwater place. (Turtleback Ferry is about 450 km away from Magnimar - which by an estimate of about 50 km per day for horse travel would be 9 days away if we could travel in a straight line - I expect closer to 2 weeks, albeit via a ship may be swifter if there are no obstacles to travelling upstream - i have not checked the rivers in detail))
Either way, I think the Mayor is not inclined to see the urgency unless the threat is a lot closer. (But does take it serious enough to pay us and send us there.)
I think he is used to downplaying any negatives from the political theater, but fearful enough to try and have someone deal with them regardless before they turn into problems.

Issengrim |

Something like 7000 GPs just fell into my lap to fund the campaign. :P
OOPS! Just noticed that my character sheet (here) was a mish-mash of my pre-ABP build and my post-build. I've fixed it and double-checked it against my offline cheatsheet. They are both correct now. My combat numbers were spot on but some skills were off as were some stats, my init, HP, AC, and one save.

Rojava Brishen |

So, the start of the new school year is right on top of us here. I'm new to working in a school rather than a branch office and the frenzied pace has caught me by surprise. Things will settle down, but I don't know exactly how long that will take.
For safety's sake I'm going to say that I'll be very busy for the month of September. I'll try to keep up on posts, but if you need to bot me to keep things moving along.

Karmid Groundbreaker |

Yep...dying dad or not: I will need an escape from the mundane reality here and you all are one of my primary sources of fun.
THERE WAS MUCH REJOICING!
*yeah!*
Thanks everyone for sticking this game out and keeping it alive. I appreciate it more than you can ever know right now.

Karmid Groundbreaker |

I can’t help myself, but I just got an email from my previous publisher! He just found a really good review of a PF1 book I wrote:
Blood and Broomsticks review…if you dare!..
Its like… my first real review! Im over the moon.

GM Polyfrequencies |

I mentioned this in my other game with Karmid, but many congratulations!

So we're officially entering some downtime until the group decides to leave for Turtleback Ferry. I know that there are different opinions on the urgency in the group, so it's up to you whether there's more you wanted to do in Magnimar or whether you're boarding the next boat out. Feel free to discuss it here or in character, per your preferences.

Karmid Groundbreaker |

Well I posted my shopping list, other than that, Karmid will want to ship out as soon as everyone is ready to go.

Lia Tani |

Well, obviously we'll have to wait for the boat arrangement that will allow us to get to Turtleback directly and faster than the overland route.
But the Major has to arrange that, the ship has to be prepped and loaded, etc etc...so I'm absolutely certain we'll have a day to do shopping :)
I mean, I doubt he had a ship ready to ferry us out. Probably a day of prepping, then the next day in the morning we'll set out.

Issengrim |

Izzy is all for heading out to Turtleback Ferry quickly and boat trips are always fun.
I'm not sure there is anything I absolutely need to buy with my 7k GP. Is it possible to bank it for later use so I don't have to lug it around?
Also, I'll be doing a quick post the next day to try to amp up Zoe's save to improve her chances of getting rid of that negative level. That's pretty much all I need to do before we bail town.

Flutter, Figment Sage Butterfly |

Hm, when initially working on a shopping list, I expected 11750 to be the limit, not it seems we are at 19700, which would ALMOST bring Lia to her recommended WBL of 23.5k :D
(plus honestly I have no idea if Lia has any money saved up. She's pretty terrible with finances, and probably handed every street urchin she met in Magnimar a Gold Coin until she run out...)
But can you confirm, GM, that that will be the money we'll have available?
That said, I'll also want to copy the spells from the spellbook during our journey, we can attempt to sell it in Turtleback, then, for a little more pocket money.

GM Polyfrequencies |

The Bank of Abadar will always accept someone opening an account! With negotiation, they might even allow you to set up an account that accrues interest...
(We don't have to deal with that, but it's very Abadaran.)
And yes, this is the total amount of money that the group will receive for cleaning up Magnimar.
Let me review the Loot Sheet once more. That ought to be the final arbiter on what people have available to them.
EDIT: I won't have a good chance to review, as I'm headed out of town for the weekend. But I'll take a closer look next week.
---
If it helps planning, assume that the next ship bound for Turtleback Ferry will be ready to leave three mornings from now. So you have two full days in Magnimar to get ready.
So go ahead and describe what you're up to, make any rolls that need to be made (like Zoe's negative level, DC 16 Fortitude save), and I'll respond if I need to.
The next event will be the evening before the group leaves.

Rojava Brishen |

Ro has three things to handle: shopping, trying to tell Lady Annsa Shivarlu she's leaving before the play is finished with production, and telling Fran she's leaving.
I'll get a gameplay post in later this evening.
