The lock itself was fairly simple, though time had gummed up the works a little. Still, in less than a minute Angelica felt the second tumbler shift and the bolt turn. The door creaked open - though with the sinspawn's shrieking the sound could only be heard a few feet from the doorway - and revealed an empty room with a hallway leading south.

Angelica Nenaviste |

Angelica heads into the darkness, her eyes easily adjusting to it as they always do. Leading the way she makes to explore what lies beyond the door.

Harbug the Slasher |

Harbug looks over at the yowling sinspawn one last time, spits on the ground in its direction and turns to follow Angelica.

Shabbezz Whorlpad |

For her part, Shabbezz can't want to get away from the keening Thassilonian horror. She's practically herding the others onward from the back of the group.

Angelica waves the others to follow as she goes through the room for anything hidden or valuable.

Harbug the Slasher |

"I can't even tell how far above... or below the water level we are anymore." Harbug mutters as he follows a few feet behind Krass.

Shabbezz Whorlpad |

"Hard to say at this point," Shabbezz agrees with the orc. "I suppose that as long as we're not currently drowning the concern is irrelevant."

Angelica Nenaviste |

Angelica turns to see everyone just staring at her, waiting for her next move. She stares back for a little bit, before making a decision. "I don't know how big or small this stupid Clicky-legs is, but maybe he wont fit under this rubble. Let's go east, make sure there isn't anything else up here before we go further down." With that, she turns to the path east and leads on as before.

Angelica moved eastwards until the hallway opened up before her. A damp natural grotto opened in the earth here, its stone ceiling rising forty feet above. Fat columns of brick support the northern end of the room, and the floor of the southern end has been carved into a low dais upon which stands a statue of a beautiful woman wielding a ranseur. The woman's likeness was similar to those you have seen before in this structure - the Runelord Alaznist.

Harbug the Slasher |

[b]"Well, let's take a look." Harbug replied before chanting a quick spell and moving forward.
Detecting magic, moving up to BG14 to look around.

Angelica Nenaviste |

Angelica creeps forward into the room, with a quick and hushed "Nothing yet." back at Tia's question. She stalks up to the first pillar, to use it for cover as she checks out the room, heading to the next pillar as she goes.

Angelica moved into the room, making for the first column. She was about halfway there when she felt a ropy something slap her in the face. Then, she was nearly yanked off her feet by something attached to her face. She caught a glimpse of some strand of something leading to a hunched form behind the column, like a giant crab. These perceptions were fleeting, however, as she fought against the inexorable dragging pull against the flesh of her left cheek.
Angelica is snared, and is being dragged at a speed of 10' per round.

If Harbug knows the creature can be affected by Evil Eye (mind-affecting) then: Move to BF-20 and Evil Eye vs. its saves (DC 13 will). If he knows it cannot be, or if he doesn't know either way, then Harbug casts Touch of Fatigue and moves to BE-20 and tries to touch the tentacle without touching Angelica (if such a thing is possible; if not, just cast, hold the spell charge and move).
Touch attack on tentacle (Touch of Fatigue): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
If successful touch then DC 12 Fort save or else 3 rounds of Fatigued (LINK) condition for the target.

Shabbezz Whorlpad |

Hearing a scuffle up ahead and seeing her companions break into a run, Shabbezz dashes in after them.
Full-round action to run at quadruple speed, ending up at BG19.

Angelica Nenaviste |

Angelica feels the goo hit her face, and the resulting pull of it, before getting a complete look of revulsion across her features. "Ewwww! Wha ish lish?" is all she can manage with the strong pull on her face. She brings her hands up and in a scissor-like fashion tries to use her claws to snip the line.

If we go before it in init, it is FF. If it is FF, I get sneak attack. If the strand can be sneak attacked, add this to each attack, claw 1 2d6 ⇒ (3, 6) = 9, claw 2 2d6 ⇒ (6, 4) = 10
If she cuts it, she 5' steps back to BD19

Angelica reached up to snip the filament reeling her forwards, but the claws had no effect on the tendril. Worse, she felt her hands starting to stick to the filament. She yanked her claws away and leaned back against the inexorable pull.
Harbug moved forward with the others, reaching out to try and deliver a spell through the filament, but wasn't able to grab the thin line in the darkness and with Angelica flailing around trying to break free. Through the pain in her face, Angelica leaned back against the pull, halting any forward momentum for the moment.
Angelica is snared, and is being dragged at a speed of 10' per round, but she managed to keep from being dragged forward this round. She can attempt a Strength check or Escape Artist check to get free. Any attacks on the filament must be rolled as normal.

Shabbezz Whorlpad |

Shabbezz looked on in muted horror as the thing's appendage brought Angelica closer to itself. Figuring that her cantrips wouldn't do more than annoy it, she instead reached for her crossbow and stepped into range.
Move to BF22.
Draw crossbow as a move action.
Load crossbow with standard bolt (1 of 6) as a move action.

DM Bigrin |

Angelica managed to break the filament with her claws, freeing Harbug and Krass to charge the creature. Sword and scimitar cleaved the air and bit deeply into the creature's body. Shards of thick chitin spun across the floor as the two hammered the creature to the ground.
Angelica was freed from the filament, but about a foot was left dangling from her cheek.
No one seems to have many problems with this fight :(
Sorry Angelica, I totally missed that claws do slashing and bludgeoning (I'm still trying to figure that one out) damage.

Tied to the creature's leg is a pouch containing a dozen polished rocks, two dozen tiny teeth, and a bracer that looks to be the twin of the one used by the mite king as a headpiece. It lookslike you have found the lost crown, and Clickylegs.

Shabbezz Whorlpad |

Shabbezz stows her crossbow, secretly glad that the danger ended without her having to act.
She looks at the bracer as it is upended from the bag.
"Is that...? I think it is! It looks like we've found Clickylegs and the mite king's crown. Now we can return it and get some rest."

Harbug the Slasher |

"This was clickylegs?" The orc mumbles incredulously while looking down at the battered corpse. "Oops." Shortly following Krass' request, the orc recasts the spell he had up before entering the room, examines the items in the bag and then turns to check the rest of the room.
Cast Detect magic per Krass' request on local items, then look around the room with it. 3 sets of Kn. Arcana & Spellcraft below in case there's anything to examine.

As for the cave fisher, they're a lot nastier with better placement--there's a PFS scenario where it's in a crack in the cieling, and I've seen that one kill multiple characters (including my own when I played it). This one's a little too accessible for the players to not kill it quick.

Angelica Nenaviste |

ANgelica just figths back her urge to gag as she pulls at scratches at removing the sticky substance from her face, "Leave it to ugly little bugger to have a pet almost more disgusting than a spider. What is wrong with those guys?" As the others look over the remains and the stuff it carried, she decides to give the room a more thorough once over, seeing if there was anything else of note in such a big chamber.

"If I remember my texts correctly, mites have a condition that makes them notable compared to most other known fey, but exactly what that was escapes me at the moment. Regardless, I recall them being special somehow."
She helps load up the gear, and mentally reminds herself to pick up a magical Hackensack when they get back to town.
"In any case, now that Harbug has properly checked the items let's hurry and get the crown back to the king so that we are free to go, yes?"

Angelica Nenaviste |

She nods, still pulling at the gooey remains of the odd 'webbing' the thing had hit her with, rubbing her cheek a little to try and get rid of the tackiness of it. She takes up a spot right behind the big guy, and watches primarily for any signs of danger ahead of him, so she can warn him before he walks into any.

Harbug the Slasher |

Harbug looks at the bracer, not quite exactly certain what it is, puts it on his head as if it were a small crown, and follows the others while chuckling a little bit.

Shabbezz Whorlpad |

As per usual, Shabbezz takes up the party's rear, sighing in resigned exasperation at the sight of her snickering orc competition's miniscule chapeau.

DM Bigrin |

Angelica moves along the eastern hallway, followed closely by the others. It connects with another passage running north and south. To the north, she could see the web-covered floors of the spider room. To the south is an open room, half-circular in form, with giant brick oven and the remains of ancient tables along the walls.

Angelica Nenaviste |

You had already taken the lead, She's been fine with that for a while now. She gets to hide behind you but still be far enough forward to spot danger.
Angelica looks both directions, before suggesting, "Well, I think we know where the spiderwebs go. So, no surprise but I think we should go the opposite direction. See what's down this way." She indicates the southern path toward the new room. She continues her position right behind Krass, keeping her eyes out for any troubles.
