With the last goblin dealt with, it seemed like it was up to Angelica to make the move toward Natalya. She gets up from her spot on the rafters, moves along a few of the beams, before jumping once again. This time she aims for the spot the goblin was just in.

Shabbezz gritted her teeth (or what passed for her teeth, anyway). Her acid splash only had a range of 25 feet, and the only way she could hit Natalya is if she left her hiding spot and moved out into the open. But maybe there was another way.

She cupped her hands to her mouth and shouted from her hiding spot.

"This is your only warning, Natalya! We just want to talk! Come quietly and we'll stop the attack!"

Krass wondered suddenly why they were threatening Natalaya. She wasn't an enemy, just someone they were supposed to find. There was no reason to approach her with weapons and violence. Natalya was a friend to the Pathfinders, not an enemy. With those thoughts in his head, Krass reached out a hand and gruffly shoved Shabbezz, saying "Leave off her!". The grippli, startled by the push, lost her balance and fell through the rotten ceiling, down into the room below to splash into the foul muck below.

I need a Fort save from Shabbezz, and she can glide away. Base landing spot is G6 downstairs.

Angelica leaped for the empty space where the goblin had just died, one of the few stable floor spaces in the attic room. She made it, barely, and as she was getting her balance, Natalya dropped her crossbow and pulled a short sword while mumbling some words. The act of pulling hte sword was too much, though, and she cursed as the magic slipped away.

In the great hearth downstairs, Tialara kept the goblin snake distracted as Harbug stepped forward and lunged upwards. The sweeping blade took the goblin headed snake just under the chin and tore its throat out. There was a hiss, followed by a horrendous smell as the thing twitched and thrashed and died.

Tia's swipe from the ladder took Natalya completely by surprise. The Tower Girl dropped her sword and glared down at the cat. Casting sleep on the intersection of F4 and G5 (1 round casting time, 10 foot burst, duration 1 minute, Will negates [DC 15]).

I should be out of the spell's 10-foot burst range while leaving Krass in it. If it works, it should only put him to sleep for a minute (10 rounds of combat time) unless physically interrupted, but I don't know if that would cause him to lose his balance.

Shabbezz jumps a little when Krass hits the rafter, then peers over him with bulbous red eyes, relieved to find the hobgoblin ally sleeping peacefully despite the circumstances.

"Nethys be praised, it worked," she exhaled, then remembered the struggle behind her and the spreading fire.

Crud, she thought.

Knowledge (arcana) to recall the details of charm person: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

Let's see, a standard charm person spell lasts an hour at minimum, and she had no real way of knowing how advanced in the magical arts Vancaskerin actually was or if she augmented her spellcasting ability somehow. The sleep spell she just cast over him would only remain in effect for the better part of a minute, at which point he would wake up and continue to regard Natalya as an ally. Charm person could be countered with another charm spell, which she hadn't memorized today, or a casting of break enchantment, which she didn't yet know in the first place.

The other way to break a charm person spell was for the original caster or her allies to threaten or attack the enchanted subject; this would force the spell to end prematurely. So if by some means Natalya could be made to threaten Krass...

She cupped her hands to her wide mouth and shouted at her teammates:

"LISTEN!! Krass has been charmed by Natalya! I've put him to sleep for a minute, but he'll be up and trying to free her after that! Natalya needs to be made to threaten Krass in order to break the spell! Otherwise we need to restrain Krass before he wakes up, and I have nothing with which to bind him! And we all need to get out of here quickly before before this whole place burns down to the ground!!"

As per the sleep spell's description, shouting won't awaken Krass early.

She thought about pulling him over to the ladder, but she didn't think she had the strength to move the hobgoblin's relatively bulky frame on her own, nor did she feel confident that she could maintain her balance on the rafters while doing so; and anyway attempting to physically move Krass would probably wake him up.

She wondered if maybe she could buy some time by knocking him over the rafter and sending him plummeting to the floor below, but she didn't want to harm an ally and he would probably just attempt to climb the ladder and free Natalya once again.

So for now, Shabbezz just remained where she was, keeping an eye on Krass and waiting for the others to hurry up and capture Natalya before the fire spread any farther.

Total defense while she waits (+4 dodge bonus to AC for 1 round).

Tialara dug her claws into Natalya's arm, wrenching the arm up behind the woman's back. With a gasp, the woman tries to jerk free and a loud "pop" can be heard as the shoulder dislocates. Natalya Vancaskerin nearly drags Tialara to the floor as she reels in pain. Her snarled curses are interspersed with whimpers of agony as she continues fighting with the catwoman. Her free hand clutches a 6 inch fragment of some coppery material, and the whitened knuckles show the strength of that grasp.

Spoiler:

Natalaya is pinned.

Angelica sees the copper, and grows concerned that the woman may try to stab Tia with it. She throws caution to the wind, and swings again with her sap, trying to end this for good. Good thing Tia has her pinned, because of their angle, Angelica is able to get a decent hit in.

With Angelica's blow, Natalya crumples. The shard of coppery metal in her hand tumbles over the rafters to land in the muck below. A dark and swelling bruise blossoms behind her left ear where Angelica hit her.

Angelica tries to get a look at the coppery thing before it hits the muck, maybe it's worth something. It could be some fancy weapon, or even just worth its weight in metal. She breathes a sigh of relief, "Let's get her tied up or anything. Shabbezz, see if Krass has some manacles or something. I'm going to drop down there, something caught my eye, and I want to have a look at it."

Appraise 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 if that's not enough to get an idea, or it happened too fast...

She decides that it warrants investigating, and hops down from above, trying to land close by so she doesn't have to dig a lot to find it. Hopefully she learned something from her last drop that will help her keep her feet this time.

Acrobatics 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 to avoid falling damage
Perception to find what dropped 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

Edit:
As she rifles through the filth, her adrenaline fades and she realizes that she is not faring well. "Hey, Buggy. Did I see you knit some of Tia's wounds earlier? If you got any more of what you gave her, do you think I could have a helping, I'm not exactly at my best?" She chuckles at the understatement, as she is covered in the muck she landed in earlier, as well as a fair number of cuts and a feed hole.

At Angelica's suggestion, Shabbezz searches Krass's belongings for anything that could be used as a bind, while still being careful not to wake him up.

Taking 10 on a Perception check to see if Krass has anything that could be used to restrain someone.

Feeling the woman fall limp under her grip, she let go. It was only then that she realized the place was on fire. "We... may want to get out of here. NOW!!" The Druid threw the fallen enemy over shoulder and attempted to get out of there.

Finally looking around, you notice that the flames disappeared completely when Natalya was knocked unconscious. The building, scarred by old burns, was just as it had been when you entered. In one corner of the platform is a burlap sack filled with Natalya's meager wealth.

Angelica's eyes followed the coppery shard that Natalya had been clutching when she was defeated. As it fell into the muck below, she made up her mind. Quickly swinging down the rafters, she splashed into the filth once more, running her hands through the mud on the bottom to find the object. It took almost a minute's worth of searching, but finally her fingers found something hard and thin. Pulling it up out of the mud, she stares at the coppery material. The object is a smooth triangular point, about 6 inches long, with rough edges along the back end where it might have been broken off from another object. A slot on the back end seems almost like a jewel setting, rather than a simple defect or decoration.

Krass came to sprawled across the rafters. A fuzziness filled his head, but the sight of Natalya unconscious cleared a lot of that up. he remembered his actions before the lights went out, and grimaced at the memories.

Rummaging through the house, you find an assortment of mundane items.

Looking at his equipment, I don't believe Krass has a rope, but there several in the house. Krass is no longer charmed.

I've lived with orcs, and this is definitely worse. That's what she gets for taking up with goblins though, weak and filthy little buggers."
