Angelica tries to maintain her previous strategy, of moving nimbly about her opponent to offset her focus. The newly applied speed and her deft movement help her find her target, but she doesn't seem to be able to bring much power to bear.

In the scrum of melee, almost everyone connected with spell and steel, though the damage of steel weapons didn't seem to be as strong as the hits would indicate. Shabbezz' magical missiles blasted holes in the Runelord, but Zaphomil's floating weapon was nothign more than an irritant. Working together, Jakscar and Oriana manged to land solid blows, and in vital spots, though some of the wounds closed back over as Sorshen raked her claws across Zaphomil's face once more.

Angelica, at this point, just tries to bob and weave, for no other reason than to have to keep the Runelord on her toes. But her previous success with the technique seems to be a little stymied.

Shabbezz' spell rippled over the woman, doing no damage. It was as if electricity had no effect on her. Zaphomil's spell did, however, though not as much as he had hoped. Angelica's bobbing and weaving might have thrown off Sorshen's aim a bit, but it distracted her even more, and she didn't even come close to landing a hit on the well-prepared Runelord. Jakscar and Oriana fared better, with the former Gray Maiden leader catching Sorshen two heavy blows. In return, Sorshen stepped forward, catching Zaphomil on the face again with those claws, sucking the life from him and back into herself.

Angelica, seeing her path a bit long for a safe tumble, decides that her previous succeses could allow her to up the ante. She takes the risk rolls straight north through both Zap and Sorshen. The concern over the bold does hinder her follow through.

The silence spell prevented Zaphomil from using any of his targeted cure spells, but it didn't stop him from channeling. He raises his holy symbol and sends a burst of healing energy, excluding Sorshen.

Shabbezz is dismayed that Sorshen apparently is immune to electricity, as this renders her most powerful wand useless. Gripping her amulet, she casts her final magic missile spell, then tries to come up with a new strategy.

Using my bonded amulet to cast magic missile at Sorshen (a typo before; the last two were cast from my 1st-level spell slots, this one is actually being cast from my bonded object class feature; Magic Missile: CL6, three separate missiles, no attack roll necessary; Casting Time: 1 standard action; Components: V, S; Range: 160 feet; Targets: up to five creatures, no two of which can be more than 15 ft. apart; Duration instantaneous; Saving Throw: none; Spell Resistance: yes; see link for details).

Magic Missile:
A missile of magical energy darts forth from your fingertip and strikes its target, dealing 1d4+1 points of force damage.

The missile strikes unerringly, even if the target is in melee combat, so long as it has less than total cover or total concealment. Specific parts of a creature can't be singled out. Objects are not damaged by the spell.

For every two caster levels beyond 1st, you gain an additional missile—two at 3rd level, three at 5th, four at 7th, and the maximum of five missiles at 9th level or higher. If you shoot multiple missiles, you can have them strike a single creature or several creatures. A single missile can strike only one creature. You must designate targets before you check for spell resistance or roll damage.

Angelica managed to tumble past Sorshen without being hit by those devastating claws, but her follow-up strike wasn't nearly good enough. Zaphomil healed himself of some of the damage that Sorshen had left, but though the wounds closed up, jagged scars were left behind. Shabbezz opened up with another flurry of magic missiles, while Jakscar and Oriana hemmed in the Runelord and continued to slash at her. The former Gray Maiden captain was worth getting on your side, as her enchanted sword continued to drive home against Sorshen's defenses. Pinned in, the green-skinned beauty lashed out at Zaphomil, stealing all of his newly gained health and then some besides. Despite the wounds she was taking, the woman was laughing, smearing the blood around her naked torso in an unsettling, yet erotic way.

Okay, going out on a limb for my action here.

Angelica starts to worry about Zap's ability to heal himself at this point. She decides that she is going to have to do something to get him out of danger. Immediately diving forward back through Sorshen's space, she comes out of the roll to drive her hands against Zaps shoulders, trying to push him back out of reach so he has a chance to get some distance.

Ideally she'll be ending in Zaps spot, with him 5-10' South of her.

The haste brings my CMD up to 15, so only 5', not 10'. I hope that that bull rush doesn't provoke, since the rules state, "An enemy being moved by a bull rush does not provoke an attack of opportunity because of the movement unless you possess the Greater Bull Rush feat" (emphasis mine). Ah, well. We'll see what happens.

Zaph silently grunts in surprise at being shoved out of the way. He sends another burst of healing energy rather than risk succumbing to the evil Sorshen.

Angelica threw herself past Sorshen and slammed into Zaphomil, sending the gnome staggering backwards and freeing him up to heal himself. Shabbezz took advantage of the distraction to run and position herself better for attack. Jakscar and Oriana kept the pressure up on Sorshen, trying to keep the Runelord from capitalizing on Angelica's distraction. Jakscar even landed a minor hit. Sorshen struck at Angelica, but found the woman much harder to hit than the gnome, and didn't manage to land a single blow.

Having the Runelord's focus, Angelica tries to take advantage of how hard she is to hit, and try to absorb some of the blows that would likely be used on others instead. She undulates her pelvis and shoulders a little, running her left hand down between her cleavage then over down to her belly button. All the while raising an eyebrow at the woman. Then steeling her gaze, dances a circle around Jakscar with a playful laugh that can only be seen and not heard.

Total Defense (w/ 3 ranks in Acro) and Mobility. Her AC for the AoO is 31, and when she returns to her spot is 27.

Zaphomil shakes his head as this Sorshen refuses to die. He casts one of his most potent offensive spells now that the silence zone is gone.

Drawing one of her wands, Shabbezz stepped out from behind her cover. She pointed the arcane instrument and waited as patiently as she could manage for a clear shot of the Runelord to present herself. The instant she saw her chance, she barked the command word, and a streak of sizzling green acid flew through the air.

As the silence spell dissolved, Sorshen smiled wickedly. "That was well-done my pets, but not quite enough." Her smile flickered for a moment as Shabbez' spell splashed agiast her bare midriff. She simply ignored the acid, which dripped off her harmlessly like it was nothing more than water. Zaphomil's javelin was harder to ignore, and she grimaced at the pain. More so when she took hits from Jakscar and Oriana. THe wounds were started to accrue, with your team dealing them out faster than she was able to heal them. Seeing this, the woman dove out of the crowd, eliciting more attacks, but opening the distance.

"It seems that you have protection against my mental magics, but what about...fire?"

A pea-sized ball of flame lifted out of her hand to float lazily to the far side of the room, where it detonated with extreme force.

Angelica continues her nimble dance to include a spin flip to avoid the burst of fire that exploded across them all. Seeing Zap drop, she reached into her haversack and drew out the one potion of healing she had maintained for so long. Leaning over the little man, she tries to at least stop the bleeding before she has a chance to administer the potion.

Seeing Zaphomil fall, Sorshen laughs. "Your healer is on the ground. It's only a matter of time now."

Her laughter cut off as both Jakscar and Oriana charged her, freeing Shabbezz up to back away and fire off another spell from her wand. Sorshen danced away from the blades and spells, then a gout of fire washed over Oriana and Jakscar as she chanted the words to a simple fire spell, augmented by the rod that appeared in her left hand.

Angelica forces the potion down Zap's throat, but is disheartened to see that it has a limited effect on the injured companion. At least she is confident that he has stopped bleeding out.

Angelica stabilized Zaphomil, even as Shabezz launched another failed spell at Sorshen. Jakscar and Oriana charged the Runelord, but it was was too little, too late. Despite the small wound on her arm that Jakscar dealt, the blooming fireball washed over the room, killing Zaphomil and Jakscar, and burning nearly everyone else, including the madly laughing Sorshen.

Angelica is furious at the explosion taking Zap and Whiskers in one fell sweep, her shock stopping her from even being able to react accordingly. In a last ditch move, she rushes the woman with a spinning flourish at the end, hoping to actually put the final nail in the b#*!#'s coffin.

Lying on the floor covered in burns, Shabbezz's chest rose and fell shallowly, but she was fading fast. It looked like Angelica was the only hope for victory.

Angelica made it past Sorshen, barely avoiding those nasty claws, but failed to wound the Runelord. Oriana tried to pinion Sorshen between you, but her blow scraped off the column the Runelord was using for cover. Smiling, Sorshen slashed out, carving a trio of lines in Angelica's face, more of her wounds healing from the strike as her power sucked life from Angelica and into herself. Things are looking grim as Angelica clung to life and glanced around at her fallen companions.

Angelica wavers on her feet, barely keeping together the last remnants of energy she has left. "Flank her, Red. If we bring her down, trust me, I'll make it up to you.". She decides against movement at this point, as one misstep and she drops before she can even strike. Her determination proves useful, but she can only bring so much to bear and pray to gods she never much payed attention to before.

Oriana followed Angelica's lead, circling around behind the Runelord to give the burglar a shot at a distracted opponent. It sort of worked. Though Oriana narrowly missed her opportunity, Angelica did land a strike. She thought it had been a fatal blow, but realized the blade barely missed Sorshen's left eye, leaving a deep cut along her temple. The Runelord struck back, but missed as Angelica threw herself into a frenzied set of dodges.

Angelica stands defiantly in her position, wavering with a scowl on her face toward the Runelord."Look, Sexy, I really didn't want to have to turn this whole thing violent. We coulda had some fun, and walked on out with our prize. Now, it's just time for you to die already." She's realized by this point, there is little she can do. She stabs weakly at Sorshen, hoping that if she doesn't do it, maybe the readhead will. She tries to get the Runelord's attention by drawing her own shard from her belt.

Angelica feebly swung at the Runelord, hoping to drive her back, fumbling for the shard in her belt pouch. Oriana managed a good strike, but Sorshen landed a blow that sent Angelica spinning to the ground. As her vision blacked out, she saw Sorshen leaning down to pick her Shard from the ground.

"Oh look, another Shard piece for me. I wonder where the rest are...Oh, are you still alive? Pity."

Angelica heard the sound of a weapon being picked up from stone, then the world went black for good this time.
