@Foxy, should that AoO be at Hazreem, not Heshan? Also, Ohrmizd's attack has to get through the Vrock's mirror image...

Heshan Antar |

"This is a bit too close to comfort for me, I'm afraid." Heshan awkwardly takes a step back away from the vulture and continues to fire at the creature.

"I think I disagree with your tactics Ohrmizd, make haste slowly. As you may recall, time passes more swiftly in this garden. If we rest for an hour, it is as if we rested eight. We can fully prepare ourselves to assault Javhul's lair by resting here..."
I am proposing resting here for 1 hr and preparing spells. Everyone would be fully healed and have full spells to go after whatever is downstairs...
While discussing tactics, Omari will look over Khedron and see if he is recovering from the giant skeleton's tongue...

"I am fresh, but I do not oppose to resting in this lovely garden if needed" Ohrmizd states nodding to Omari. Most used spells are long lasting ones, so not much to gain for me on resting.
He produces the portal key from the handy haversack "While we make us comfortable we can as well think on how might this key work on the portal. If any ritual at all is needed"

Hazreem Al'Shakar_1 |

"Seems like a good idea to rest here," Hazreem agrees. Hazreem has several open spell slots available so resting would be good here.

Heshan Antar |

"Thankfully I do not have a single scratch on me, my friend," Heshan replied with a grin. "Although it is not easy trying to handle beings immune to most of your abilities."
As for the suggestion to rest, the sorcerer nods. "We might as well use the opportunity to take on that dastardly at full strength."

Omari the Landless |

Omari will channel and use spells as needed to heal everyone. Then he will pray to Erastil to prepare for the ordeal to come...
Will try to get to spell prep post tomorrow. Also, might want to search for loot here...

Ohrmizd |

While the group waits and rests, Ohrmizd indeed can search for treasures and hazards.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

The large skeleton has a medium (+1 wounding) greataxe. Moving around and searching is an annoying task, as everytime Ohrmizd comes too close to a statue, its head rotates and spews out the unhealthy mist.
The human sized skeletons have nothing on them and also the vultures have no pockets to search in. And no one has stored treassure in the garden since last time you looted it.

Seriyle eyes the greataxe greedily, "That is quite a nice axe I see, do you mind?"
Seriyle would like to claim the greataxe here. As an Outsider she is proficient in its use.

Ohrmizd |

Ohrmizd has been acting as the group's carrier and any group equipment not specifically carried by anyone else is on his shoulders. The Kheleshite produces the key from the bag on his belt "This is bone symbol we found in Davashum is what Shazathared said was the key. I wounder if it is the key for this specific portal"
Stepping forward, he does try the key on the portal.

As Ohrmizd comes close to the circular area with the portal key in hand the walls and floor of the room bigin to shimmer with fiery energy. A few moments later, a 10-foot-wide section in the western stone wall shudders and opens, unleashing a blast of hot air into the room and revealing a cave tunnel leading off to the west.

Ohrmizd |

Ohrmizd covers himself with the shield as the hot air jets over his face, then slowly checks what happened "Ah! See, it worked like a charm!" looking back at the team he adds before moving forward "Ready to pay a visit to our warm host?"
With that, he starts walking into the new cave tunnel checking for hazards and traps as they go.

@Hazreem, have Seriyle change into something fire-resistant (fire giant?) before we head down there?
Omari casts Air Walk on Khedron and mounts up. Nocking an arrow, he replies to Ohrmizd "After you..."

Hazreem Al'Shakar_1 |

Seriyle nods grimly as her form shifts into that of one of their hated fire giant foes here. Hefting her newly acquired axe she grins, "I am ready."
Hazreem nods shortly, "Lets get this over with."
Hazreem and Seriyle will take rear guard.

Foxy Quickpaw |

We'll need the next map.
The smooth volcanic tunnel splits into three here, continuing on to the west, northwest, and southwest.
In the midst of the Junction stands Jhavhul. "Welcome, visitors, to Xotani’s Grave, where all your wishes are granted!" he says, spreading his arms in welcome and unleashing a wave of heat. "You are honored to have been chosen to witness my ascension. Enjoy yourselves, and when you are but ants beneath my feet, I may even let you live!" He throws back his head and laughs, a deep, booming sound that brings to mind the roaring of flames. The figure turns to smoke and slowly fades away as his thunderous laughter echoes down the tunnels.

Omari mutters "Hopefully that includes the wish that we put your head on a post...

The Kheleshite starts to prepare his flying carpet.

Hazreem Al'Shakar_1 |

"What makes you think they won't attack us immediately," Hazreem stares across the lava river, "I think anyone who lairs here would work for Jhavhul right?"

Omari the Landless |

No map, so I'm not sure if I have to stay mounted on Khedron, or can I dismount and still see the salamanders? If I can dismount where I can still see the salamanders, I am going to.
"I am sure they are Javhul's minions if they are down here. The question is, do we want to give them a chance to run away, rather than slaughtering them immediately."

Heshan Antar |

Heshan ponders the idea. Killing the salamanders seems like the reasonable thing to do... but it may not be for someone who is trying to follow the tenets of the Dawnflower. "I suppose we should give them a chance to flee... but at a distance," the sorcerer speaks.

Ohrmizd |

"If there's a chance they will listen to us, or let us pass without confrontation, I would like to give them. Now..." he holds the scimitar high " They will not falter if they decide to attack or stop us somehow"
Ohrmizd observes what the salamanders are doing from a far well covered spot.

Ohrmizd |

"Ok, you all can fly over that lava?" Ohrmizd jumps over the flying carpet and orders it to take it into the air. When he is about 60' from the salamanders, he calls the attention of them "Ողջույն, հրեղեն օձեր: Կարո՞ղ եք ինձ ցույց տալ, թե որտեղ է գտնվում Ջավհուլը: Ես շտապ ուղերձ ունեմ փոխանցելու"
