I'm just trolling because I don't have time today to make a real post.
Life update: I finished my semester's classes. My wife is finishing her tests to become a dental hygienist, and graduates tomorrow. I will try to get some posts up soon, but the graduation stuff is in the way of that.

@Everyone: I just got back from a deployment and I am exhausted. I won't be posting much for a day or two while I take the chance to spend some time with my wife. But now that I have access again to Herolab it should be pretty easy to finish my wizard. I'll let you guys know when its done.

DM Barcas: Afternoon Isaac, I believe I am all done with Elsir. Feel free to take a look whenever and let me know if you want me to make some changes. I did not choose to pick up Mystic Past Life. There are other ways of getting access to divination and augury like Pathfinder Savant that I will work my way into eventually. The gold should match up. Because I took craft wondrous item I have a bit more get then wealth per level, but I didn't go overboard. I also have a lot of self crafted scrolls. I made sure to purchase all of my additional spells once at full price before adding them in (with the exception of my two free per level).
Vorduvai: I picked up craft wondrous item. I know there will be some overlap here, but I am thinking that I will pick up Craft Rings and then Staffs eventually. Elsir's patron is Yuelral so I'm thinking I am going to do something similar to your profile and describe the individual look of each item I crafted. However my items are going to feature more of a crystal and silver based motif.

@Elsir - Hehe well I'm glad you did, because even though I'm intent on keeping up my ranks in Spellcraft, my score is going to lose ground to those higher item DC's later on.
I've always liked your flashbacks, Steven. One of the things I miss about Mists of Time is Shoto Imuri's rather elaborate flashbacks, like the one with the poison.

Excellent and very impressive first post Elsir! I very much like the mage's elucidations on the true nature of time. Spot on, that. Seems like you've set up quite a challenge for yourself, though, if you plan on making all future posts as intriguing and intelligent as that one, eh? ; )
I've always found that diviners are one of the most challenging classes to play, in general, both for the Player and the GM. I look forward to seeing how this particular example all plays out.
So I am getting a little rest after a killer - no pun intended - week. I've been working nonstop and full speed on a big case. I got hit with some tear gas yesterday when we brought a SWAT team to execute some warrants.
Rest up man.
I was upwind and three houses down. We fired six or seven rounds of tear gas into the house, then the wind shifted. (Later, I absent mindedly rubbed my eyes without realizing that I had enough exposure that a little was lingering on my hands. This was not a good decision.)
The case is still not public, but I will post a link in a few days when it is. It has been a brutal week. 80 hours of work from Tuesday to Friday. As it is mostly over, I am taking some rest before diving back in on Monday.
In other news, some of the bystanders were shouting that I (in my shirt, tie, and bulletproof vest) looked like the guy from Numb3rs. Kind of an odd choice to hear in the ghetto. Hasn't that show been off the air for a few years? I think the guy (Hotchner) from Criminal Minds would have come to mind, as it is the more popular show and I bear at least a passing resemblance to him.
Sorry to hear about that Issac. Hope it wasn't too bad. But your post makes me wonder, what happened to all the people who were already downwind of the teargas before the wind sifted? As in, are all or many houses and people near the place you guys gassed also affected?
The tear gas generally gets fairly well kept out by walls and windows. This particular house was part of a duplex and I was able to go in the other side of it without a problem that day, even though I couldn't go into the main part without a gas mask. Staying indoors would do fine. I got hit with a whiff because I was outdoors. We cleared everybody else away from the area while we were there.
Anyway, I'm nearing a point that I might be able to come back soon! My twenty hour days are slowed down to a more manageable level. I've got an ungodly amount of typing left to do in the next few days, but I hope to jump back in and get my stride.
Have you guys decided whether or not you want to go investigate the wolves?

So Ultimate Campaign is out. Most of my objections (namely, the magic item economy) were fixed in the kingdom section, so we'll be moving to that. Has anyone else gotten it? There are rules for creating organizations and buildings.
I got it - though I haven't looked at kingdom rules. I can imagine it being fun playing "Sims" with your home though.
So, I will also allow retraining during downtime, including increasing hit points to maximum. However, you will need an appropriate trainer to increase beyond average hit points. (Getting to average can be done alone for increased coat.)
Anyone else gonna react to the wolves?
My apologies as I was sick this weekend, but getting back into the swing of things and getting my post in soon (going to put a couple of buffs down).

Hey, some of you saw in my other thread that I've got some bad news. I've got a mass in my thyroid (which is now more mass than thyroid) and have to get it removed surgically next Thursday. It is most likely cancer, but they won't know for sure til the dissection. I will be off work a few weeks, so I will actually be posting a lot in that period. I hope that you guys will post with me as well to keep me in good spirits, riiiiiight?

I've spent some time this past week going through the Ultimate Campaign book, and I have to say it's really top-notch. The Downtime System, Fame/Prestige System and Alignment Tracking chart are all going to make it into my monthly home campaign! I really like the Downtime System, though it's not a five-minute deal to absorb and track by any means. I'm not sure you'd want us to try and use that system in conjunction with monthly Kingdom turns in our PbP, but it's kind of a fun abstract exercise to (for example) translate the Sanctuary Bank into the various rooms and teams that currently make it up.
In terms of the streamlined Kingdom Building system, I initially didn't understand what you meant as there are still buildings with "magic item" slots and a mechanic for how those are changed, but in further research I see that they aren't tied to generating BP for the treasury any more, so that's almost the best of both worlds now. Looks like to me they offset that with the Economy check success dividing by 3 instead of 5 for BP, as well as a couple of Hex Improvements adding +1BP straight to the Treasury each month.
It's definitely a simpler and more streamlined system now...and not necessarily a smooth translation to what we've done. For example, the translation of the army mechanics from "type" based on formation intent with prerequisite buildings, to a more generic starting point w/ spending additional BP and Consumption is very different than before. Some of the buildings and hex improvements we chose wouldn't make sense now (I'm looking at you Fishery improvement). Still, it might be fun to try and take the existing Realm of Newhaven and run a straight conversion to the new ruleset with it, to see what it looks like after the conversion.
I also bought the expanded rules from Ultimate Leadership by Legendary Games, which is pretty cool.

This battle turned out to be something of a pushover, thanks to the incredible damage output of the group.
My surgery went well. The cancer was the size of a softball, according to the surgeon. Now my recovery begins.

I'm back from vacation and I'll be posting on Elsir whenever Isaac gives me something to play off of or I can come up with a monologue. Either way it will be after I get some rest.

I'm playing around with some ideas for how I want this conversation to go. OOC wise I was not sure that the possibility existed at this time to start up a lodge. What sort of things would go into it mechanically? Would you want it to be a "guild hall" from Ultimate Campaign or something else DM Barcas?
