DM Barcas - Kingmaker: New Beginnings
(Inactive)
Game Master
Isaac Duplechain
An expedition from Brevoy attempts to tame the Stolen Lands, while civil war brews in the north between the nobles houses and a bandit king rises in the wilderness.
Zander's plan is to start rapid firing arrows at the leader. Hopefully if they lose their leadership they'll either rush in to attack where we can easily cut them down or run away and then we can at least put out the fires in peace and maybe give chase or something.
That's pretty funny. It was also intended. Never tell the GM when you and your character are going to bed!

Map is up. If you have any issues with it, I'll see what I can do to fix them in the morning. (Technically, the early afternoon. It will be morning to me.)

Ditto. This works fine though.
Do we need a gmail address to edit the map?

Verik Jarrow wrote: Do we need a gmail address to edit the map? I believe so. I have one I just use for things like this separate from my regular email; they're pretty easy to just open up.
Barcas should have my gmail from the star wars game. I log on with it but only have viewing rights.

I have a few already, I just use one a great deal for judging on the LPF community - and its shared by all the judges - and its kind of a pain to swap it out. Will you be using the gmail addresses for anything other than map permission DM Barcas? If you won't be sending emails I'll use the judges one since I'm always signed on with it otherwise I'll use one of my own.
0sigz0 yes. I'm only geting viewing rights still.
I haven't received an email yet for the map :(
There's a link to it in the main thread Jemini, just click on the word map in DM Barcus's post.
tnx - that will teach me not to red the OOC thread first

@DM Barcas: My email addy - danielclark AT gmail
I think everybody but Verik is added now. And I'll just be using it for the map.
On the map, the front gate appears to be open... is it?
Go with baldursgoat@googlemail.com DM Barcus, that should work.
Female Elf Witch 4
Also what squares are the ladders to the wall in?
Email added.
The walls can be accessed at any point. They're only slightly raised, except for the 4x4 squares with the catapults, which are about 5 feet higher.
The front gate actually should have been closed for the night. Good eye.
The ladders to the buildings aren't up. Oleg was going to put them up in the morning.
Hmm still can't seem to move, I actually meant for Verik to be at R16, I would have said behind Berrin, but I believe he's before me so he probably would not still be there.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with the google spreadsheets, but I know it took me a bit to figure out so I'll contribute that to move the little icons you have to click on the icon and then put your cursor near the top of the square until the little hand icon shows up and then you can scoot it around. I was trying to click and drag from the middle of the box for quite a while before I figured that out, heh.
I'm thuroughly confused with the initative order. Am I up or did I miss my turn or what?

Berrin Myrdal wrote: I'm thuroughly confused with the initative order. Am I up or did I miss my turn or what? Everyone seems to still be posting out of order. I would say we just finish up this round this way and then maybe try to be a little more orderly for round 3 and beyond.

I know I went out of order figuring I'd be doing the same thing whatever everyone else did - sorry if I've messed people up.
Thanks smashthedean I'll try it. Ah that worked, cheers!
On a completely different note Tandalara's avatar makes me sad. :(

Oh another thing, since the tags were messed up in the instructions post, I wanted to clarify the format for posting the Round, Initiative at the top of the page. I think I've deduced that it's supposed to be like this:
Round 2, Initiative 7
So ooc and bold, is this correct?

Huzzah! I'm glad I'm not the only one who got confused by that :)

I've cleared up the loot sheet for once we need that and added everyone to have permission to edit in case they need to for any reason, though I should be able to manage it. I'm also going to post a link to it in Zander's profile for easy access. GM Barcas, what's your gmail address? jaran625 at gmail didn't seem to work...

So... Bandits next and Jemini again?
Sorry for the slow posting - we had our RPG session today (Council of Thieves). We're level 10 and nearing the end of part 5. My barbarian died and had to be raised (along with 2 more companions). We managed to lose the major plot artifact - along with my barbarian's primary weapon (pride and joy that thing, a "great greataxe" (or glaive to you and me)). So all-in-all a good outcome. :p

Can anyone give me the secret for moving the tokens? I am signed in, so I'm assuming that's not the problem, but I can't drag it, cut it, copy it, nothing. Because I've got no armor on, I should be in R16 after round 3.
Move to your token go to the top right hand corner hand when you see a little hand click left click and hold the button down - you should then be able to move it as you wish. I had exactly the same problem and smashthedean told me how to do it - nice to see we aren't alone in being puzzled. :)
Click the token then a box apears around it, then go to the top right corner and click-drag it. I moved you for you.
How do the gates open? Do they swing out, to the side or up?
Everybody has the same trouble lol :D - just move it using the frame of the icon, rather than the picture itself, then its fine
@DM Barcas - I don't know what the stats for the bad guys are, is the boss shaken? I don't know what the posting policy is, but if possible I like to see the various bonuses listed as separate terms. For example if Jemini is shaken, flanking and has height advantage, then she'd roll
1d20 + 4 - 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 4 - 2 + 2 + 1 = 21
...on the other hand, we should not necessarily know what conditions affect enemies; so only a total modifier might suffice.
Outward. Strength check DC 15 or use the pulleys with DC 10 Knowledge (Engineering). The bandits would all count as assisting for +8.
By the flavor text, he is definitely shaken.

Berrin Myrdal wrote: Click the token then a box apears around it, then go to the top right corner and click-drag it. I moved you for you. Yeah, I get the hand but it's not working. Meh, I'll get it eventually. This machine is very old and quite pokey with the google stuff, I'll be on my (much newer and faster, etc.) laptop tonight so I'm willing to be it'll work better there.
Thanks for the help y'all!
I'm goin to bed guys. I'll check in in ca. 6-7hrs. If you can't wait have Berrin open the gates and then ready a double-handed swing vs. the first bandit to approach.
5'step to gate, move action to open (I think) leaving him a standard action for an attack if approached.

That should time out well for matching up with just before I'll probably be getting ready for bed so I'll be able to get my post up around then after you make yours.

Post up, its bedtime for me. Hopefully all will be a go in 7 hours ish. Seems like it will have looped back around by then!
Quote: He then fixes an uncharacteristically icy glare at the bandit in front of him. "And you. Walking dead man. NOBODY calls my cousin chubby while I'm around and lives." He raises his shield and morningstar, preparing to stove the bandit's head in. I just somehow cannot shake the unspoken "except for me" at the end of that little speech.
