with the help of the final 2 heroes, the tree goes down.
Heroes make it past the traps and out of the house alive. I would ask for a reflex saving throw, but everyone here can take up to 12 points of damage and still be concious, so no use.
As heroes look back they see the house start to sink into the ground and crumble, then it starts to rebuild itself slowly but surely, this might take a couple of days.

Heroes make it back to village of baravoia and get a long rest plus I'll tell you what the gold and other items you found in a little bit, including Strahd's Journal, feel free to roleplay.

The heroes know that the house is under a curse is evil and people have tried everything including burning it. Nothing short of killing Strahd will break the curse. Even though Strahd had nothing to do with the house of making it what it is or cursing it, he is the entire curse to this place.

Agotaras nods and then frowns as Fhern speaks.

"What kind of mind would profit from such evil. If destroying Strahd is the key then that is what I will do, not build an inn."

It is possible the dwarf has not picked up on the subtleties of the conversation.

DungeonMaster

Including the person who just quit, everyone gets 348.05 gold, 1 potion of healing each as there is enough for everyone.

To be divided out
2 cloaks of protection to hand out. 2 alchemist fires, 2 of each scroll: bless, protection from poison and spiritual weapon, the deed to the house (you can't sell it and one of strahd's journals, it is written in fancy cursive and harder to show you online than at tabletop, but it basically says he did not support the house or the cult. He is still tied to its evil in a way.

On your log sheets. Adventure name, death house, session number 1. Exp, you started at 0 and you gained 1,000. Gold gained is 348.05 and total is 348.05 plus whatever you started with after beginning purchases. Downtime is 10, renown is 1. Under notes any additional treasure you gained, like the potion of healing. And divided up the 2 cloaks of protection.

There is also a spellbook for anyone who can use spellbooks.
1st: disguise self, identify, mage armor, magic missile, protection from evil and good.
2nd: darkvision, hold person, invisibility, magic weapon

I hope to stay off the front line, so I don't need a cloak as much. I already launch fire, so I don't need the alch fire. I guess I won't usually be preparing protection from poison, so I'll take a scroll of that, just in case.

Yeah, can we buy armor in the town? I'd like to sell my chain for 37.5, and buy splint for 200. That would leave me with 200.55. Or with less if we can't sell armor for half the price.

"We'll have to prepare for this. I don't think this Strahd is someone we can defeat easily."

Fang and agotaras you are the only two that requested the cloak, so you get it. As far as the rest of the items, I've seen no arguement, so everyone gets the consumables they requested. Don't forget that everyone has a potion of healing they recovered from death house, you might need it in this land.

DungeonMaster

We can assume you guys had a minute to two to pick up whatever you need in town before this went on. Fhern you know you where in the house for approximately three hours

The sky as you can all see is covered with clouds or at least mist high in the sky, there is no sunlight in all of Ravenloft, at least not while Strahd is alive, there is no sunlight, even during the day, this land never sees the sun. It is daytime however. The citizen leads you to the area that is being attacked. Just then A dark black cloud with dark purple stripes enters the area and it is traveling fast. You hear citizens shout. Everyone in quickly, and those that work into the antitoxin building, get in here quickly so we can destroy the gas cloud. Just then it starts raining Purple and black colored water. The citizen that lead you here doesn't make in to cover fast enough, as well as one other citizen off to your right. You see them turn into ghouls. As you feel the rain fall, you feel like you are immune to whatever virus or disease is in that rain. Don't worry the clouds have effect on PCs. It is raining however, so if anyone is a wood elf, mask of the wild applies here.

Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Male Half-Elf Sorcerer 6; Medium humanoid, neutral good; Armor Class 16; Hit Points 44/44; Speed 30 ft.; Saving Throws Dex +3, Con +5, Cha +7; Skills Arcana +3, Deception +7, Insight +3, Investigation +3, Perception +3, Persuasion +7; Senses darkvision 60 ft., passive Perception 12; Spells per day 1st - 4/4; 2nd - 3/3; 3rd - 3/3; Sorcery Points 6/6;

Talsazzar grimaces in pain, several of his teeth looking draconic more than elven. He repositions to get an advantage with Agotaras and stabs at the ghoul that hurt him.

Flanking with Agotaras
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Advantage: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Piercing Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

After reading up there's no point to using green flame blade cause it doesn't hit the primary target.

"Foul creature! How DARE you sully Talsazzar's majesty!" the sorcerer bellows.

Druid 8 | HP: 59/59 | Speed:35 | AC: 17 | Passive Perception: 17 | Init: +3 | Wildshapes (3hr) 2/2 | Spells: 1st: 4/4 2nd 3/3 3rd 3/3 4th 0/2 Saves: STR-1, DEX+3, CON+2, INT+3, WIS+8, CHA+0 | Skills: Insight, Perception, Slight of Hand, Stealth, Survival | kits: Thieves tools, disguise kit, herbalism kit)

I re positioned the spikes, but it still seems like a solid action.
