Dot here, you are not in the haunted house yet, you are all meeting in an abounded house in the village of Baravoia.
Greeting heroes, I would like you to investigate the Death house, a house that is haunted that puts itself back together even if destroyed, a house that rebuilds itself and sucks in and traps the living inside, destroy this evil once and for all.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
didn't exactly call for the checks yet, but if people want to roll them, go ahead, 16 is the highest so far, 20 finds everything in the house, just don't roll the dexterity saving throw until after the 2nd battle is over
Might as well do this while we're here.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Talsazzar rolls perception!: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Dotting in as well.
The hulking orc leaned against one of the walls in the room that the meeting was taking place. After hearing the pitch, he would raise his gravelly voice and say "So, how much does destroying a life-sucking house pay?"
Fhern considers the invitation. "A house that rebuilds itself, eh? Sounds like an infinite supply of cheap firewood to me."
He idly produces flame and extinguishes it while he speaks, as if it were a nervous habit.
"Tasazzar agrees with the druid. Cheap kindling indeed." he says with a grin.
You all go through the house, noticing the food is fresh as can be, the furniture is in perfect condition, and none of it should be. You get to a stone statue and grab the orb which is worth money and 2 ghoul attack as they animate. The room is 4 by 4, statue in the middle and ghouls at the opposite end of you all.
init: 1 + 1d20 ⇒ 1 + (14) = 15 Ragnaganon
init: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (18) = 21 Talsazzar
init: 0 + 1d20 ⇒ 0 + (5) = 5 Orsik
init: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (19) = 22 Fhern
init: -1 + 1d20 ⇒ -1 + (11) = 10 Fang
init: 1 + 1d20 ⇒ 1 + (17) = 18 Zylfina
init: -1 + 1d20 ⇒ -1 + (16) = 15 Agotaras
init: 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 2 + (16) = 18 Ghoul
Fhern and Talsazzar are up
Talsazzar Pulls on his arcane bloodline, hurling a blazing orb of fire at the ghouls.
Using 1 sorcery point to Twin Spell chromatic Orb and hitting both ghouls with it!
Spell Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Fire Damage: 3d8 ⇒ (7, 4, 3) = 14
Fhern stays behind the fighters and launches a bolt of fire at the closest ghoul.
Produce Flame: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Fire Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2
Fhern tries to hit a ghoul, but it dodges out of the way.
They both try to attack Fhern hit: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 hit: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
dmg: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 3) + 2 = 10 and make a con save dc 10 or be paralyzed for 1 minute, not that it might matter anyhow.
And then Ragnaganon slices one in half
Orsik, Fang, Zylfina, and Agotaras are up
Disgusted by the undead, Zylfina unleashes a witch bolt at the remaining creature.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Damage: 1d12 ⇒ 2
ConSave: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
At least I'm still awake.
Fang was busy shoving the stone statue into his pack, and by the time he looked up the combat was over. "Next time, save some for me!" he says, untangling his straps from around the statue's leg and then finally getting it into his pack.
A sexy woman in fine clothes and leather armor comes beeboppin into the room.. She's slender and sleek, with pale skin and hair. A pair of tiny red horns protrudes from her forehead. She turns to the group and gives a devilish smile..
"I hope I'm not to late! My names Cherry! Oh.. We got some stocky men up in here!"
I have additional healing if it is needed as well.
Agotaras hurumphs having made it to the battle too late. "Couldn't even leave one for the dwarf to thwack. Next time I will have to move faster to get in front I guess."
The dwarf kicks one of the downed ghouls for good measure. "Blasted undead scourge."
Wow go to City Council meeting and come back to dead ghouls. Nice work folks.
It was a orb in the statues hand, the statue itself is as tall as a person, and therefore you can't fit it in your pack, although a stupid orc might try.
Heroes go down to the basement and defeat a couple of rats and undead in there and finally they come to a 30 foot by 30 foot room, covered in 2 feet of water while the edges are raised above it, making everything except the edges of the room difficult terrain. It says to make a sacrifice on the alter or pay the ultimate price and face the shambling mound. There is a shambling mound laying down in the middle of the room.
"Well I guess that means we fight the plant then.. You big tough boys get get it!"
She casts Faerie Fire on the plant, DC 13 Reflex to negate, and uses her bonus action for bardic inspriation on Agotaras.
Gives a bonus 1d6 to any roll within 10 minutes.
If the plant fails the dex save everyone will have advantage on attacks as well..
She tries to maintain maximum distance from the plant.
"I certainly will not be scraficing anything, even a copper, to any thing that consorts with the undead."
Agotaras pushes to the front of the group, shield at the ready.
"Let the bloody plant thing come my light will protect me."
Thanks for the heals, Orsik!
Fhern stands by Cherry and tries to keep the beefy people between him and the plant and calls down a moonbeam on the mound.
Upon Cherry enchanting the thing, Fhern raises an eyebrow. "Oh, uh, I guess we're getting started then, aren't we?"
RadiantDamage: 2d10 ⇒ (10, 6) = 16 (DC 13 CON save for half damage)
Talsazzar points at the creature, encanting in draconic as he shoots a bolt of fire at it.
fire bolt attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Fire Bolt damage: 1d10 ⇒ 1

Clearly confused by the banter Agotaras nods.
"Just stay behind us then. My faith will protect you."
The plant was alseep, so this is like surprise attacks to it, it basically just failed all saves. It has a rude awakening up as it howls and growls It just took 17 damage has faire fire on it
Shambling mounds are slowpokes, I'm just going to say it is last
Round 1, all heroes are up. any damage you did to it and actions you took was round 0 surprise and remember the room is 30 feet by 30 feet and the thing is in the middle, just say where you want to be, north end, south end, northeast corner, 10 feet from it, etc.
I think several still have surprise actions..
Cherry stays by the door and casts Eldritch Blast at it.. She then uses her bonus action to give bardic inspiration to Rag.. +1d6 to a d20 roll within 10 mins She continues her faerie fire as well.
Blast: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Advantage: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Force Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Zylfina moves to the North side of the room and mutters some arcane words in a foul, forbidden language. Swinging her longsword, she strikes at the creature.
Longsword attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Longsword advantage: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Longsword damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Cast Booming Blade - but with those attack rolls, never mind. :)
Ragna moves up next to the plant being inspired by the sweet horns. And swings with his great axe. As his blade sinks into he laughs and says to Cherry I am feeling inspired by your words sweet horns. After this maybe we could spend sometime together . He has look of lust in eyes.

"Get a room, you guys! Preferably one with no demon-plants in it, but beggars can't be choosers."
Fhern will stay near the door as well and continue the assault.

Orsik grins and conjures a large shining gauntlet that immediately strikes the mound, moves to the south of the creature and hammers it with his weapon.
Bonus action - cast spiritual weapon and attack with it, move - move to the mound and get the hammer ready, attack action - attack the mound with hte hammer.

"Ahe ya nasty vegetable. The eyes of god are on you and not happy."
Agotaras moves head on towards the creature, not tactics just steel and slices at the beast with his longsword.
Longsword Hit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Advantage allows you to roll twice Fang and Agotaras and remeber Agotaras you have a d6 that you can add to d20 roll..
Cherry winks at the dwarf.. "Perhaps we can figure out something later.."
Thank you I forgot about advantage!
Longsword Advantage Roll: 1d20 + 5 + 1d6 ⇒ (10) + 5 + (3) = 18
All the heroes hit except Zylfina ac is 12 They hack, slash, firebolt and blast the thing. 54 points of damage has been added, it is resistant to fire, before I factor in the moonbeam effect.
con save: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (7) = 10 64 points this turn, plus 17 in surprise is 81 points, checking to see if everyone went before it takes its turn.
Talsazzar still has a turn for round 1

Talsazzar burns its foot resistant to fire, but you can't resist 1 damage
It goes trying to attack Fang hit: 7 + 1d20 ⇒ 7 + (10) = 17 2nd attack: 7 + 1d20 ⇒ 7 + (13) = 20 the first slam bounces off his helmet, only this 2nd time around it finds the non guarded area.

"Ha, evil creature. We are on you and the light will burn your... well you know...I will smite you."
Agotaras's banter is lacking but his holy power shines.
Vow of Enmity swift action gives advantage on attacks for one minute.
Longsword Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Longsword Attack Advantage: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
