Nicolae catches the skeletal champion off-guard, and manages to score a fatal blow on the undead's skull.
Combat over

"Phew! That guy was one tough skeleton!"
Giltman pulls out his cure light wounds wand before searching the room.

The chamber contains the final resting place of Kassen, and also it the location of the Everflame. Kassen’s sarcophagus is open, and the lid is lying next to it. His body is intact, save for the broken links of a chain that lie around his neck—there is no medallion. Kassen is dressed in resplendent armor with a longsword resting on his chest.
An unconscious woman is also lying in this room, dressed in more contemporary clothing.

Is the woman injured, or just unconscious? If injured, I'll use a charge to heal her as well.

DM Kludde |

She's injured, but stable.

![]() |

I'll drop another CLW on her to see if it wakes her.

"Hey, Giltman, I could use a little of that healing."

![]() |

"Thanks, my friend. Who has the lantern we're supposed to collect the fire in? Let's get the job done and head back to town."

![]() |

When she wakes up for clw hey someone was looking for you I believe, if you are who I think you might be.
What room was he in again?
hey guys, how are we going to light the everflame, do we have to get fire from that one room?

DM Kludde |

...waah. Who are you? Are you the team that is supposed to come after us? the woman asks after she opens eyes, being healed by Giltman.
It could be that one of the dropped players had the lantern. In that case, just assume one of you took it.

![]() |

Giltman pulls out the lantern. "That, and we're here to light the flame."

DM Kludde |

I know, we were here to set out the challenges, but something went horrible wrong. We were attacked, by these monsters...
The flame is over there, just over the tomb of Kassen. Everything is disturbed, the sarcophagus isn't supposed to be open...

DM Kludde |

The final resting place of Kassen emits some magical aura. Upon closer inspection, his armour and sword are magical.
Do you light the lantern?

![]() |

Giltman brings the lantern over and lights it.
EXPLOSION!!!!? LOL

DM Kludde |

As Giltman light the flame, a ghostly image appears.
Greetings, who woke me from my slumber. the ghostly image of a gentle, bearded man speaks you have done well to defeat my former nemesis and light the flame.
It is a sad tale of strife and rivalry that brought Asar attack me. We were companions once, but his distrust turned him on me. A treasure we shared, buried in a vault, with an amulet to access it. Three pieces we had: I had one, Asar had one, and the third piece is with Iramine, our elven sorceress. Alas, the amulet were buried here, but it seems they are gone now - taken by robbers, perhaps?
I thank you once more for returning quiet to this place. I must warn you: do not disturb the graves, or take any of the items in this tomb. In stead, I will offer you this treasure as a measure of my thanks.
The ghost wave his hand, and points to a pile of items: a bag, a gem and a shield (Noted on the chronicle sheet)
He also produces a ghostly scale of his armour for each of the adventurers saying this scale will protect you in time of need. Use it wisely.

"We thank you for this treasure, sir. May you sleep in peace."

Nicolae makes an effort to stop staring at the magical items Kassen's body is wearing. Bad idea, anger off a ghost at his own tomb, baaad idea. Yet.... No! Get it together Nic. He walks to the treasure offered and helps collect it while shaking his head.

DM Kludde |

Your work here is done... the ghost says, as it fades from view.

![]() |

"Well then, my friends. Sounds like we should return and collect any rewards we've earned!"

![]() |

"Yep, let's go!" Leb turns and makes his way towards the exit.[/b]

DM Kludde |

The journey back to Kassen is somewhat somber and uneventful. Roldare, the man upstairs, is thrilled to see Dimira again and seems to regain most (but not all) of his sanity.
When the adventurers finally return to Kassen, they find a celebration underway in their honor. Mayor Uptal is there to greet them at the gates, but his joy at their return quickly turns to horror when he finds out what has happened. The news quickly spreads throughout town and the harvest celebration turns melancholy. Though shocked, the folk do not blame the adventuers for what happened, and most are rather grateful that this new menace is ended. The grand feast is still held in their honor, but it is not the same as it was in previous years. This year, many are drinking to help forget that they have lost friends and loved ones. Plans are made to return to the crypt and bury the slain townsfolk.
During this celebration,a man named Cygar stops to talk with the party for a few moments. He formally introduces himself, and identifies himself as a member of the Pathfinder Society. Cygar has taken an interest in the recent events, and he would like to see the tomb robbers that caused this mess called to account for their actions. He then asks if they might be interested in getting to the bottom of this puzzle and, if they agree, he blends back into the crowd, saying only that he will be in touch...
Which is the lead-in for Mask of the living god.
This is the end of the module. I hope you enjoyed the game!
