Moses jumps at Jim's voice. "EH! oh, er hi, Jim. No, never this far." He chuckles nervously and his eyes dart back to the fog. "It's thick, huh?" He falls silent a moment and then asks with a quiver in his voice, "Heard tales back in Riddleport that there are Krakens out here. Big as a ship and tentacles wide around as a man. Could come right out of that fog and pull a man over. Whether he got ate or froze in that sea don't matter much, huh? Death all around..."

The Taldan's first reaction is disbelief, but that quickly passes. And how many eldritch beasts out of legend have I seen? Feck, there may be something like that out there--sea's a chancy place at best. He nods. "Aye, it's not easy out here. What gives me hope, though, is that we're about the Pirate Queen's business, and from what Corliss and my old mate the Groom tell me the monsters of the deep are Hers. If I'm wrong, though--" He shrugs. "--at least it'll be quick."

Moses obviously takes little comfort in Jim's words. He whispers a barely audible, quick death... and then twitches as he peers blindly at the dense fog starboard. "There's something out there."

Corliss Blackboots |

Corliss hustles up on deck and looks around. First thing he sees is the fog and general gloominess; then he spots the strange lights.
"Fine weather for a call lightnin' spell," he mutters under his breath.
I've been a bit out of it with a leg/back nerve issue and hope to get Corliss updated this weekend...after seeing my doctor.
