Buttercup is very glad she did not meet these overreacting dogs in the other room. She quickly reacts and steps toward the lead dog, then channels earth and beats a quick retreat.

As she bursts from the building she points behind her and not so quietly yells "Guys, we are about to be attacked by dogs - lots of them."

"It sure doesn't sound like horses barking at us." says Impasha grimly.
The foray into near-sarcasm was unusual for Impasha. If one could get a decent look at her in the twilight gloaming and the will-o-wisp glimmer of Elarion's light spell, Impasha was now grimacing in exasperation, probably with herself given her flushed features. She still holds the portion of the semi-rotted door in her hand.
"Looks like I've alerted the whole neighborhood to our presence, as well as anyone who might be holed up below." she groans bitterly.
Peeking in to see just barely make out the barking dogs, "Ah, well, better to be attacked by dogs in the light than the dark,"
Looking around, Elarion will sustain the light spell, shifting the orb of light deeper into the building to illuminate the back of the building, shifting the color to a bright white light.
Before casting Light again, attaching the second orb to Impasha, this one a red light to match Iomadae's favored color.

As the dogs are roused to attack from the noise of the door breaking open, Buttercup turns to blast earth at the dogs while she runs back outside. The blast causes dirt to fly, but it otherwise harmless against the current occupants of the Livery.
Elarion pushes light into the old barn, illuminating the pack of half-dozen or so feral dogs, two of which are clearly bigger and stronger than the others.
One of the large dogs, black in color, lopes towards the entrance. When it gets close enough, it leaps at Celas, jaws snapping at the man. Celas is able to interpose his arm, but that is savaged fiercely by the large dog.
Red and Blue also move up to attack pack style, one also going for Celas, while the other attack Elarion right in the doorway. Elarion takes a nip for minor damage, but the pack attack against Celas hurts him more badly, and he is in bad shape almost immediately.

From the back, Myron can't really see what's happening, so he moves forward until he sees a savage beast that somehow made its way inside the city! Perhaps more hellhounds! He casts briny bolt at the monster.

Reacting quickly to the attack of the feral mutt, Impasha kicks the dog hard in the side, making its bite more of a nip on Elarion.
From behind, Myron sprays the kicked dog with salty water, and its enough to down the poor beast, who falls in the doorway.

Bellara felt a little more out of the action than she cared for. She dashed ahead in and found Celas engaged with one of the mutts. She circled behind it opposite him and struck.

Entering the livery barn, and circling the large black mastiff, Bellara attacks from behind. Catching the dog off-guard, she is able to score a critical hit, but the damage is still somewhat limited, and the mastiff stays in the fight.
Green Mutt advances on Bellara from behind, getting the same flanking advantage on her that she just had on the larger canine but the attack is easily avoided by the lithe swordswoman.
Yellow Mutt rushes to the doorway to attack Impasha. The jaws clamp on the champion's leg, but her armor protects her from and damage.

Celas curses as he is savaged by the dogs and through gritted teeth mutters, "Be not brave nor bold. The gang would be laughing their behinds off." Actions follow suit he steps back to get out the door. With the crowd out he cannot withdraw gracefully so he just uses what little cover the ruined door provides as he makes a quick exit, going behind Elarion, drawing his dagger.

After being savaged by a pair of hounds almost immediately, Celas has little choice but to make a hasty retreat. He loops back through the open barn doors, and gets behind a line of allies.
White Mastiff moves forward to attack the only invader in the room, which
is now Bellara. The swashbuckling noblewoman is able to dance out of the way of danger one more time.

Impasha’s blade flashes out in one hand, and she takes hold of her shield with other. Seeing Bellara standing alone among the swarming dogs, Impasha moves inside the stable to stand back-to-back with the noblewoman.
”I’m usually pretty fond of dogs.” she says over her shoulder as she lifts her shield to ward off the slavering animals.
Buttercup seems to have a bead on the closer of the two flanking dogs and once again attempt to connect with her kinetic element.
Well, then, someone get that door out of the way!
Elarion remains where he is, though the risk is high, he needs a view of the battle field.
Looking to Celas, wounded near him, Elarion draws out his Healer's Toolkit to apply some emergency bandages to the Rogue.
"Get back in there, chap, I believe you have more to contribute, be not afraid of the dogs, as your sword surely bites harder,"

Impasha readies her weapon and shield and goes to stand back to back against the pack of remaining hounds in the livery.
Elarion whips out his healer's kit and quickly patches up any wounds poor Celas had taken exhorting the rogue to get back into the fight.
Buttercup blasts her kinetic energy at the dogs inside the barn, but her attacks are each wide of the mark.
With Impasha now flanked between the two mastiffs, Black snaps at her twice then moves away a step. The champion's shield saves her from a nasty bite, but instead she takes no damage.
Blue Mutt advances to bite at Elarion. One of the bites is serious and Elarion takes another chunk of damage, but is still standing.

Myron continues his assault on the dog pack, targeting the closest one he can see.
Myron is loathe to move forward, because that would put him right next to the mutt that savaged Elarion. He draws his dagger instead. ◈
In the game, the western door is sliding barn door that Impasha broke the chain on, and you slid it all the way open. I can't change that on the map, but its not a barrier to any movement or attacks at present.
After firing his briny bolt at the dog in front of Elarion, Myron's eyes widen when he sees how close he is to another one. He quickly skips back and around Buttercup, indicating that Rexus should join him.

Before backing all the way away, Myron blasts the blue dog with his salty spray, and damages the nearest mutt which yelps with pain but is not yet out of the fight
Bellara attacks the smaller dog near her, hoping to even the odds before turning her attention to the larger mastiffs. She scores one hit, then dances around the side of the mutt and stabs again, but she stumbles over an old hayfork left on the barn floor and almost slips, catching her balance at the last moment.
Green Mutt tries to bite at the off-balance hero, but its jaws snap shut on only air twice, before it moves into a pack position with the alpha dogs against Impasha.
Yellow Mutt moves through the open doorway and attacks Buttercup, biting twice. One bite misses, but the other snaps on her arm, grinding into the tissue for mild damage.

Celas grimly bears the pain of Elarion minatrations to his arm still holding on the dagger. His eyes roll at Elarion's earnest pep-talk, dryly replying, "It's a dagger not a sword, I'm neither warrior or hero. I was dumb to get hurt at all- Ah! Duck! Butter-!" Celas words breaks off as a dog rushes at Buttercup. He throws his dagger at the beast, draws a throwing knife, and throws again. "Little Flower, get to the roof if you can, or behind me."

Celas is able to throw his blade and hit the Yellow Mutt, the dog looks quite bad off after the attack but is still just barely standing.
White Mastiff tries to savage Impasha along with the rest of the pack inside the livery. The champion avoids one attack, and then imposes her shield to save her from any damage.
Buttercup does not back off. No! Instead she winds up for another couple of tosses after backing away.
But, once again, she is completely discombobulated and hits everything but the dog.

A few moments ago, Impasha had been inclined to simply roughly scare these beats off, but they seemed unusually ferocious, and were scoring savage bites all around. It was frankly all she could do to fend them off at the moment.
"All right, enough!" she snarls in response to the latest set of snapping jaws, then begins swinging her longsword at the large black mastiff to her left. Saving the city from tyranny was going to begin with a few feral mutts!
Elarion strides back, getting out of the melee with the dogs, looking to Celas, Buttercup and Myron, "Focus down that yellow dog, then prioritize pushing inside to aid Impasha and Bellara, right now we are separated!"
He then launches a divine lance of energy at the yellow dog, hoping to finish what Celas started.

Impasha attacks the nearby dogs now with the intent to put them down for good. Her first attack misses, but her second stab hits the black mastiff, cutting a long slice along its flank, but not finishing it. She again raises her shield to ward off any more dog bites.

Buttercup backs away from the savage dog, and blasts earth and stone at it, but just like before these attacks miss.
Elarion tries to focus the team one dog at a time, and uses his divine lance to hit Yellow nearby as an example. The attack catches the dog just right for critical damage, and ends up killing the Yellow Mutt.
Wounded again, Black Mastiff has Impasha flanked with one of the lesser hounds, and forces the issue, biting at the champion twice. She avoids the first bite, and again is just able to hold off the second bite with her shield.
Blue Mutt steps forward to bite at Celas. While Celas is bitten twice, they are both minor in nature and he is mostly unscathed.
Bellara’s boots skidded slightly on the dirt floor as she darted across the shifting shadows of the barn. "Left flank!" she called sharply to Impasha, pivoting in sync as the hounds pressed her.
She lunged forward twice towards the green mutt’s shoulder and said "Bad dog!" as she struck.
Sure am glad the others are decent fighters. We'd all be dog meat by now if it were up to me.
Happy to see that the others have dispatched the canine that ran through the spot where Myron used to be, the young (but very worldly and mature) noble returns to his previous position to try and return the favor. He fires a frostbite cantrip at the mutt attacking Celas.

Bellara flashes her blade as she moves through the magically lit barn, and strikes quickly against Green from behind. The quick stabbing movements kill the dog even as she remonstrates against it.
Outside, Myron creates an orb of biting cold around Blue Dog which is still wet from the blast of sea water last time. And though the dog shifts to try to avoid the freezing aura, the cold is just too much and it falls dead and frozen to the ground.

Celas, pretty much done with dogs, steps back out of range and draws his other throwing dagger and throws it at the dog in front of him. "Ouch, Blast it curs!, I've had less trouble with Thrune's thugs.", Celas baselessly accuses the dog.

”Well struck!” commends Impasha after the duelist neatly drops the dog behind her. She visibly relaxes a bit in her stance as the second dog falls outside the broken door where it had threatened the less martially-inclined, though she wrinkles her nose a bit at the burst of dirty wet dog smell.
Seeing as Impasha is about to be flanked, Bellara snaps her rapier toward the hound in front of her and calls, "Step up, Impasha! I’ll take its flank!"

Stepping forward now that all the mutts outside are out of action, Celas throws his next knife at one of the mastiffs. The blade tumbles end over end striking true in the side of the larger dog which yelps in pain, and looks pretty bad off at this point.
The uninjured mastiff attacks Impasha twice, but she is able to turn its canine jaws aside each time.

Now that she’d had a few moments to settle into the fight, things seemed to slow down and become more manageable as her training took over.
Focusing on the white-haired mastiff whose bite she’d just turned aside with her shield, Impasha slashes down with an overhand chop…
…then adjusts her feet and stabs forward…
…then follows up with a back-handed slice.

Determined to end this thing before someone else gets badly hurt, Impasha focus her martial prowess on the White Mastiff. After her initial attack skewers the large dog critically, she follows up with a blow that mercifully ends the mortally wounded beast.

Just as she is about to say something about 'I hate it when I have to fight. I suck at it', she lands one and then another.

Blasting more earth at the remaining mastiff, Buttercup surprises even herself when the rocky mass crushes the hound, ending the fight.

Buttercup sags with relief and rubs the bleeding wound in her calf.
"Well, not so bad as wounds go. I sure hope these were not diseased. A pity we killed them all with that hefty bounty on live ones. Then again, I know a few street urchins not above eating dog. Been there."

Once the last dog goes down, Impasha quickly puts away her sword and goes to check on the others. Seeing Buttercup rubbing at a wound, she kneels down for a better look.
"I think they were just being territorial. They looked pretty healthy to me anyway. But any bite can get infected."
She pulls out her waterskin and douses the bleeding area, then wipes it clean. She then goes into her healing kit, and carefully treats the puncture wounds with bits of alcohol solution and a few dabs of herbal poultice to stop the bleeding and ease the pain. Her touch is meticulous and gentle, like a mother to a child, complete with soft words of comfort.
"There, how does that feel?" she says, giving the halfling a warm, encouraging smile.
Myron courageously avoids making a face at the notion of eating dog, and instead turns to motion Rexus over to the where the last dog was put down.
"Do you have any indication of where to go?"
Myron studies the livery from where they stand. How tall are the walls of the stalls? Does the light reach all the way to the back of the building?
Looking around, a little battered and bruised, "Myron, let us investigate this area, these dogs very well may have been guarding something in this area, I'd suggest we search every nook and cranny. I agree with Impasha, they did not look malnourished or wild, and I doubt they would have fought to the death if they had not be trained to do so,"
Celas, muttering at his torn sleave where the dog had rended him, recovers his daggers and knives. As he follows others into the gloomy stable, he remarks, "The noise and the fight drew all eyes on to us, we may have little time to tarry here; let's be quick to find what we must."
Making sure some warrior is ahead of him, Celas will search about for anything of interest.

"Wow, you are a physicker? Man, that feels better." Buttercup sticks a dirty finger under the bandage to check to see if the wound is still there. Apparently she has absolutely no skill in medicine.
...
"So, yea, we should check this place out as quick as we can. I can keep watch for trouble if you think someone might come and interrupt us." She starts looking around for a good place to keep watch, be unseen, and also provide a ready way of getting to the others fast.
