For me, I had my eye on several boons but was thinking "I'll wait until I need to slot them." Now I want to make sure and get them in case they don't have equivalents going forward, etc.

No, I thought they were just bullet points.

Well, at least wait for September 23 when the new Guide is published before you buy anything.

Paizo is working on streamlining all of the processes that we have to track. Though again there will be more information in the guide next week.

There will be a grace period to spend fame while the new web system gets the bugs ironed out.

I just pre-ordered one and it still says October 14 on the store entry.

I suspect there is some confusion between Pathfinder Society Guide to Play (Second Edition) which provides the rules for the Organized Play campaign

and

Pathfinder Lost Omens: Pathfinder Society Guide an upcoming hardback book in the Lost Omens line that will provide us with some great background information and new fun play options.

The former should have a new edition released this coming week and the latter is scheduled for release in October.

Do adventures appear on the My Organized Play? I've played The Fall of Plaguestone but it does not show up and I cannot buy the boons associated with it. Does it mean it was not reported properly or is it not supposed to show up at all?

And what are the Is Consumeable and Remaining Uses fields and how do they work? Are you only supposed to buy boons when you use them?

Yes, things you have played should show up in My Organized Play under the sessions tab or by showing sessions by character.

Any that do not show up either didn't get reported or an incorrect Org Play number was entered. If you can contact the GM, they may be able to help you. You will most likely be asked to send via some sort of private message the event number, date, GM name, GM Org Play number, and the information for your character. All of that is on the chronicle sheet.

Dark Archive

Scenario and AP Tracker

For Fall of Plaguestone the boons should be on the chronicle you received. For playing you will receive Achievement Points as long as it is reported correctly. These can be used on the My Organized Play page under boons to purchase additional boons.

Which consumable and remaining uses fields are you referring to exactly. Normally consumable just means one time use and remaining uses are how many you would have left.

| Extinction | url= |

The boon purchase page has those fields. I think they’re just for reference.

Sovereign Court

Yes, I was referring to the fields on the Boons page. Also, I tried to use put my stats on the Race, Class and Gender fields on the profile page like the template the PF1E pbp template says but it does not seem to work for 2E.

| Extinction | url= |

That's odd. It's just text.

Maybe updating profiles is bugging? My existing ones are fine.

Map: -- | -- | ◆ ◇ ↺ |

updating character profiles can be somewhat fiddly. I find it best to make sure you navigate to the character profile, and then click update profile, make the changes you need but copy and paste everything into a word processor before saving. Then hit save. If it gives you an error, make sure to navigate back to the profile naturally (don't hit the back button on your browser). Try again but copy and paste the info from your word processor.

In general, a lot of pages on paizo seem to break if you you use the back button on your browser, or if you have multiple tabs open and in a different tab you navigate to a different page while trying to do something like update your profile.

Yeah, with the stability of Paizo.com. I have all my profiles in GoogleDocs where I do any modifications before copying over to the fields here.

There are times it gives the timeout error even if you save within seconds.

Does anyone know if 1-10 Tainbreakers Trail has been changed since it was released. We just played it online and there was a bit of talk saying that it had but I don't see any indications of that in my digital contents. Presumably if a scenario is changed, wouldn't the publishing date change to be later in time than the download date?

It was updated ~2 weeks after release. It fixed issues with the PP points and also how much fame/reputation was awarded.

If digital content is updated then when you're looking at "my downloads" it will have a "last updated" date that is more recent than your "last downloaded" date. Generally you should get e-mails when pdf is updated.

There seems to be some changes to the Pathfinder Training on the Guide. Do we only choose 1 consumable?

In the Applying Credit section it says apply the chronicle as played. What happens to Adventures if we play them before they are sanctioned?

Only choose one row for the consumable, in some instances it is multiples of the same item.

VC Australia - WA

As I understand it, playing an Adventure before it is sanctioned has always been a gamble that it will a) be sanctioned, and b) allow retroactive chronicles. This is why many await sanctioning before playing if the chronicle is important to them and they are unwilling to play it again, this time for credit.

One row of consumables? Isn't that a lot? That would be five items plus a minor healing potion for Scrolls and Swords but just one scroll and a healing potion for Spells.

Sorry, I misspoke. Go to the the consumables table. You can leave the view at All or select the simpler one that matches your training.

So if you are looking at the All table, find the row matching your level and pick the column that matched your training or the healing column.

As an example, level 3-4 gives two minor healing potions if you go for the healing option.

Dark Archive

Scenario and AP Tracker

It all depends which school you choose. Spells schoolwould receive 1 scroll of their choice from that level range + 1 consumable for not being field commissioned. If you chose generalist then you would get those healing potions.

Update to this: The new version of the guide released today lists Bounties as Sanctioned Adventures, meaning they are played in Campaign Mode. Seems like that would allow you to play a bounty with playtest characters and apply credit to one of your PFS characters.

Yes, Bounties are now listed as Sanctioned Adventures which falls under Campaign Mode. Just so everyone is on the same page though, this means that the GM determines the rules for characters. If you are a PC wanting to bring a Playtest character, you can't automatically do that. It would be up to the GM to allow it. Small distinction but something to be aware of. At least for me the default would be PFS legal characters, and if I want to be more or less restrictive then I'd make that clear during recruitment.

Sanctioned adventures operate in Campaign Mode, which does not use Pathfinder Society rules. GMs set the rules on character creation and may freely modify the encounters and story. Sanctioned adventures award a Chronicle which may be applied to Pathfinder Society characters as outlined in the sanctioning documents. Sanctioning documents reside on a product’s description page at paizo.com.

Do you still get two items? The new guide doesn't talk about spending up to 3 points in the various schools. It just says to choose one school and then you get a bonus lore, feat at 5th level, and a bonus consumable. That sounds like they've simplified it to just the single item.

Correct you get 1 consumable "item", though at some levels if you take the default option, it's two healing potions.

If you choose Spells, Scrolls, Swords or Generalist then you receive 1 bonus consumable from the list.

My fighter had two points in Swords and one in Scrolls. How does this work now and what is the default column for?

There are no longer 3 points that can be distributed. Instead Each character should choose one of the following: Spells, Scrolls Swords, Generalist, or Field Commission.

You then get 1 consumable (+1 bonus if not a field commissioned agent) from your field. You can either choose an item from your field or the default healing potion.

Then why is there a healing potion in the first column too? Can you choose the healing potion from both columns as your two consumables?

Wow, this is not clear from reading the guide at all.

So field commissioned agents get a healing potion.

Everyone else gets 2 items?

Nope.

Field Commissioned get nothing.

Everybody else gets a "bonus item" At some levels the bonus item can be 2 lower level healing potions.

Tyranius is incorrect.

If you are field commissioned you get nothing.

Swords, Spells, Scrolls, Generalist get a single pick from their list. If they don't pick something, they get the "healing potion default"

At some levels the healing potion default (like 3-4) is 2 lower level potions.

Can you cite something for this, Tyranius? From what I'm seeing I think Pirate Rob has it right. If you're a Field Agent, you don't get a consumable. If you're one of the other options (Spells, Scrolls, Swords, or Generalist) you get one "gift" corresponding to one row/column of that chart (which could potentially be two copies of a lower-level healing potion, depending on your level). I don't see anything about bonus consumables.

EDIT: Ninja'd by a pirate! How does that even work?!

That said, the reference to the school consumable being a "bonus" is totally confusing so I understand Tyranius's confusion.

Ok, yeah. That's how I was reading it too. It is confusing with the Healing column though.

Field Commissioned Agents get no items

Agents trained in a school get 1 choice from their school's table based on their level or lower. If they fail to make a choice, they get the default/healing option.

And now there's a Generalist school. But it's mutually exclusive from the other schools, as opposed to an "all-schools" option. So a Swords school character cannot choose to get holy water as their bonus item.

Personally, I find the whole school choice thing as completely unnecessary.

Apologies, school had my eyes crossing today. I was going off of this text below. I had it wrong.

Each character should choose one of the following: Spells, Scrolls Swords, Generalist, or Field Commission. Each of these choices grants a bonus lore at first level, and a bonus skill feat at 5th level. Each Pathfinder Training (except Field Commission) also grants a bonus consumable at the beginning of each mission.

So the bonus consumable is your 1 item. You only get the 1 item total, not 1 and a bonus.
