What is there now will stay until the end of this year though due to AcP just coming online.
EbonFist
And if it makes anyone feel any better, I only have about 20 AcP and don't mind since there's nothing in particular I want to buy, at the moment.
The system still rewards GM's more than players, as it should.

Don't forget, the races & boons will be swapped out every three months. If there isn't something you want now, there may be something you do later on.
Maybe. I'm pretty fond of fetchlings kayals and gillmen azarketi, I may save my AcP to make a kayal/azarketi character whenever those comes out.

Now I'm starting to wonder if an azarketi/aasimar is possible. The asarketi half would need to be a base ancestery though.

Hey, my friends and I have a total of three 1st and 2nd level characters that we’d love to play through something with together, if possible. We’re pretty experienced playing through on the boards. I guess we’d Prefer a repeatable since we are kinda all over the map when it comes to who has played what.
I guess I’m saying if someone wanted to start up a new 1-4 repeatable game, we have three players ready to go right here.

And what classes are they?

I mean, we weren't thinking of three-maning it, certainly. We have a monk, barbarian, and investigator, so I guess we could really use a healer.

Mitch, VampByDay and Vamp's friends get first crack at the seats, but I'll have at least 2 openings.
Post in the Recruitment Thread with your PC profile and which adventures you'd be willing to play.
I'll choose the remaining seats based on party composition and adventure choice. This will be open to level 1 and 2 PCs only.
Obviously this will not be part of the OSP or the Gameday.
The recruitment thread will be open for approximately 48 hours unless fewer than 6 players have applied.

Haven’t got a healer, but I do have a roguish swashbuckler.

Alrighty! It's now Midnight (UTC) August 12th and general sign-ups for PbP Gameday IX are now open! \o/
You will find the event listing here --> Gameday IX Event Listing.
Scroll down, find the game(s) you seek, and click on the recruitment link!
Please remember...
Can I sign up to play in both specials?
You may only sign up for one special. We will lift this restriction on August 19th if more tables are needed.
How many games can I sign up for?
No set limit but please only sign up for the number of games you can handle. It’s better to enjoy one or two games than to get overwhelmed. Also, please remember other people also are excited to play, so please don't sign up for a whole lot of games right away.
Now, go forth and fill those tables! :D
I'm probably being dumb, but how/where do you sign up for the special(s)?

This may be a weird question / weird question to ask here, but is there a reason why the Season 2 signups for Gameday are so thin?
I had thought that the new scenarios would be in highest demand (I used my GM signup to reserve a spot for #2-02 thinking those would fill up in the first 24-48 hours), and I think across the 3 recruitment threads for #2-02, I saw 2 signups total ... me and one other. It's early, so I think/hope they will fill, but it did strike me as odd.
In contrast, several of the Season 1 repeatables are filled already. Is this just people trying to get repeatable credits on / testing builds for shiny, new APG characters before playing the non-repeatables? A large fraction of players having played #2-01 / #2-02 at Gen Con? Is this just statistical noise? Or am I missing something?

My face-to-face group (well, weekly roll20 group now) is very small. One of us GM's most of the PF2 scenarios we play, I run the rest. So I don't usually play non-repeatables on PbP in case they happen there later. Here, I play the ones I've ran, but mostly repeatables.
Nowadays, I also play a lot of PF1 here, because we're basically done with that in my group. Trouble is I only have a few characters I want to play most. But I have plenty of scenarios left to do.

I was hoping to get in on Little Trouble in Big Absalom for GD IX but the original table filled up fast with GM signups. Then, someone was kind enough to GM and open a second table but I'm the only sign up for it so far. I thought plenty of people would sign up since it is kind of an exclusive/not normal module.

Is this just statistical noise?
Basically.
The population of GMs has a 3 table limit, and they're free to choose which tables they want to run, so you will get a random selection of tables offered. Myself, I had planned to run one Season 2 scenario but things took a left turn that led me to cancel all my tables. By the time I got rescued and decided to offer one table, it was past scenario support so I went with a scenario I owned.
There. That's at least one reason why the Season 2 offerings are so thin.
caps
Here's my data point: I have one character at level 4 who is focused on the season 1 metaplot. My other characters I'm mostly focused on leveling up via repeatables. I'm not ready to start anyone on the season 2 metaplot yet. I kind of want to leave season 2 for after I've played most of season 1. I have it plotted out which characters will play in which scenarios, but I'm doing it pretty much all PbP so it will take a while to get through it all.
In PFS1 I created a new character whenever I had an idea for a cool build. They often were not very well fleshed out. For PFS2 I'm trying to do fewer characters with more attention given to each of them.
TL;Dr I haven't decided which characters will play which season 2 scenarios so I'm just not playing any of them yet
Lady Ladile
Similar to caps, I'm trying to be more circumspect about the characters I create for PF2. So, I have a grand total of 2. Both of those are already signed up for or have expressed interest in, a game. That's all I can do, shy of creating brand new characters just for the convention - which I don't feel compelled to do at this time.
GM Blake
Yea neither of the scenarios I'm GMing have more than 1-2 players which is a little frustrating.
For good or ill, you've chosen a scenario that has a reputation for being overtuned as well as some rules misunderstandings by the author (note that I have neither played, GMed, or read it, but that's the reputation it has) and another that I suspect some people are holding out for until they achieve certain landmarks.
Also, Tier 1-4 pulls from a larger pool than 3-6.
I didn't bother to look at what you have signed up in each of them, but if you have 6s already, 3-4s might be scared to join. If you've got 3s, 5-6s might be hesitant to join for fear of breaking the 3s.
DM Amazing Red
Well Iolite Squad Alpha has a 4 and a 3 so far. And having played the other one which has zero interest so far, I don't know what people mean by overtuned though I haven't read through it. I picked a pair of scenarios based on how fun they were and decent boons as rewards. The one from Iolite Squad Alpha lasts indefinitely so I don't know why people would hold out to play it.
GM Blake
I doubt he is talking about 1-19... :)
Correct.
In the context I used it, overtuned toward difficult: too easy to break the players.
EDIT: I'd also like to play Red's Iolite Squad, but I'm not sure I'll have a level 3 free.

Agreed. It has only been roughly 48 hours. It may be a bit slower as the entire world is doing online cons this year but folks are still signing up. Give it a little time and also do some open recruiting for your scenarios on these lodges as well as discord.

Not sure what you mean. People can recruit for games up until the start date of the gameday (September 1st). If you are using a lottery to select players we ask that you conduct the drawing no later than the 24th to give players not selected time to find a different game.
It's up to you when you feel like pulling the plug and switching games. Just remember that you can run a table with as few as 3 players, so please don't switch a game just because your table isn't full if it has enough players to fire.
My recommendation is that if you have 0 or 1 players a week from now it's probably a good time to switch. If you have 2 players, see if you can recruit a third before switching.
EbonFist
I'm in the same boat as other folks. After creating more than a dozen (yes, I know that's a small number comparatively) PF1 characters, I'm going slow on my PF2 characters. I've only created 2. I've slotted one in a game but I'm waiting for later to slot the other (potentially dropping him in on a table that's in danger of being cancelled.)
I'm also trying to cut back a bit on my playing and I have several non-Gameday games going and will be running a table during Gameday so I'm limiting my sign ups for that reason, too.

Speaking of multiple PFS2 characters...I am new to PFS and I want to make sure I understand the character creation rules correctly.
I have only completed two PFS2 games, each with a different character, so I don't have a lot of boons. I think that's what they're called? So, I think that means I can't play any uncommon (or rarer) ancestries. Is that right? How do I get access to those? Does it happen from boons? I think you can get them from achievement points too, but those are only available to GMs, right?

Currently, the uncommon ancestries are available through boons purchased with achievement points. Achievement points are earned by both players and GMs, GMs simply earn them faster (as a thank you for running the games). If you go to My Organized Play, you may have to refresh points on the GM/Event Coordinator tab but the points should be there even if you have never GMed a game. You should also see them by looking at the sessions tab where they should show for each game you played.
Welcome to Organized Play, stay awhile and enjoy the adventures.
Watery Soup
You have received AcP from playing - at least 4 per scenario (more if you played at a "Premier" or "Premier Plus" event, I have no idea what events qualify as which).
You'll need at least 80 AcP to purchase ancestries like orc or tengu. Some are 120 AcP (not sure why, maybe they're super powerful?), so roughly 16 scenarios.
GMs get double AcP to encourage people to GM. So, if you GM a lot, you'll accumulate AcP fastwr.

Thank you, everyone! I like that idea of having a system in place to ensure that the uncommon races are actually uncommon, though I'm bummed that I can't play them yet. I guess I just have to play more scenarios!

A good thing that there are so many wonderful gnomish characters you can make! The PF2 adventures have been lots of fun so far! Also, if you get into one of the APs, your GM might be willing to let you build an uncommon ancestry character if it fits the theme of his world.
EbonFist
I figured out what I want to use my ACP for, but will have to wait and see if it's an option -
Since I read the option in the Core Rulebook, I've wanted to make a half-orc dwarf.
I don't even know if it's a mechanically sound build, but it seems entertaining to play.
EbonFist

Currently, half-orc and half-elf are restricted to human. Sorry.
I'm hoping they'll let us buy other options using ACP, at some point.
