Lots of people have been having this issue.

Taenweth Vandiir |

Okay, why the frowning at my girl? It wasn't Taenweth's idea - but Autumn said it was best to return to Oleg's due to the wagon wheel being shonky. Respectfully, I'm kind of frustrated with Regina's attitude toward any action Taenweth takes. I was simply following the RP that came before my post.

Regina Caro |

I honestly missed that post. So that was why. I went back and looked and yeah I see it now but I missed it before making my post. So that was why the frown happened. I am not meaning to cause any issue with you, I promise.
I do not mean to make you feel that I am going after any action Taenweth makes. I know what it feels like to have any idea you put out shut down and I do not like to cause that feeling in others. It is a thing that happens, Regina has had ideas shut down as well. Everyone has ideas and everyone should get to voice them then a vote is cast. But I swear I am not trying to cause any issue.

Regina Caro |

I am having some family drama / emergencies so please bot me if need be.

Regina Caro |

The family emergency turned into a death so please bot me if I am not posting. I will most likely go though bouts of frequent posting and then none at all for a while.

Autumn Moon |

I'm sorry for your loss Regina. Take the time you need.

Taenweth Vandiir |

GM, please accept this as my formal withdrawal from the game. My free time has dwindled significantly and I can't enthusiastically invest myself in my games as fully as I once did or had the energy to. Please have Taenweth go on her merry way once the group returns to Oleg's... to seek other adventures. Can you, please, also inactivate me from the game.
Thank you for the opportunity to play in your game and thank you to the players for the rp to date. I wish you all well and happy gaming. :)

Autumn Moon |

It was fun while it lasted Taenweth! Take care!

Autumn Moon |

I'm glad I'm not the only one with bias! XD

Pyros Aldori |

I'd probably go for the rogue, if only because he's closer to a 1-for-1 replacement for Taenweth. We might have some trouble getting all the skills we need adding another 2+INT frontliner. No preferences as far as backgrounds and the like, and I don't think I've played with either of them before.

Autumn Moon |

Do keep in mind Autumn can fill most of the skills Taenweth had. They already shared a great deal in smiliar skill and idea. That being the role of scout/tracker.
Also I would like to point out there is another submission, though I am unsure if our GM will count it or not.

Regina Caro |

Thank you all. I should be back to posting by Monday though it may be sporadic as we are emptying a house and that is emotionally taxing.
Sorry to see you leave Taenweth
as to the recruitment I do like rouges and paladin. Regina can pick locks and I could dip a level or two if you like the other options better. Whoever you all think will have the best personality to add to the game is all I want but I will not have time to look into the three of them.

Caerwyn Callandriil |

Thanks for the votes of confidence, everyone.

Caerwyn Callandriil |

Caerwyn's not a member of the party yet. He came out with the reinforcements. Once he finds that you have an opening he'll resign his commission to join you, but until then he's still a soldier.

Autumn Moon |

Thus the joke about doing your job! XD

Caerwyn Callandriil |

Sorry for the thread derail but an Iron Gods game I'm in just lost one of our players and we're looking for a replacement. The current party consists of a Human Gunslinger (pistolero) (myself), a Ratfolk Investigator (empiricist), a Android Fighter, and a Half-elf Inquisitor (sacred beastmaster).
We're looking for an arcane caster who can bring some healing to the table as well (our Inquisitor didn't take CLW as a spell known). Thinking either a Witch with the Healing hex or a Bard with CLW (not trying to pigeonhole anyone, though).
You can find the Discussion thread here (Link) and the Gameplay thread here (Link).
If you're interested please leave a concept/build in the Discussion thread.
Thanks,
Mike

Autumn Moon |

I'll may be look into it when I get home today. I never was really interested in the Iron Gods AP but, I really enjoy the hedge witch archetype and play a really good witch if I do say so myself!
Also something hit me, because this game can take years, in game that is, you guys actually might want to give some thought on your character's birthday. I think that'd be a great rp moment. Even more so for Herger's son. His next birthday will be his coming of age! That's nothing to sneeze at in a world like this... I think Autumn will make him a bow. He'd be the same age as her youngest sister would be if she was still alive, and she was always into archery just like Autumn was so it was something they bonded over.
Oh and if anyone is curious, Autumn's birthday is Rova (September) 22nd. Any of you who actually know what that date is are likely laughing right now. To those who do not, Semtember 22(Sometimes the 23rd) is the Fall Equinox. The day when the season stops being Summer and becomes Fall. So Autumn herald in Autumn.
And GM if you wish to know, yes that is why she was named such and her siblings were named Spring(sister), Winter(sister), and Summer(brother). Each named for the season they had been born in. Though Summer was just dumb luck. He wasn't a planned child, he was a oopse baby.

Caerwyn Callandriil |

Caerwyn's Birthday
1d12 ⇒ 10
1d31 ⇒ 7
The 7th of Lamashan
not much else to do on a farmstead in Abadius, I guess.

Caerwyn Callandriil |

Bonus points to anyone who can tell me where Private Hannibal Dobbs comes from (without Google, whippersnappers).

Autumn Moon |

I can! F Troop. Though to be fair I only know that because of my step-dad. He's 67 so he watched a lot of old shows when I was growing up. Yay being the youngest of 10...
Though I will admit I did google it to make sure I was correct... all of his shows kinda... ran together for me...
Though I do remember M*A*S*H well, I enjoyed that show.

Autumn Moon |

Autumn can do that! Would you like Autumn to do that? XD

GM Waterhammer |

New map is available. You can change marching order if you want.
The dark green forest areas provide partial cover (+2). If the target is behind a forest hex, this improves to cover (+4) A target behind 2-4 forest hexes has cover and concealment. 5 or more forest hexes provide total concealment. 10 hexes of forest provide total cover.
The forest hexes do not provide cover against adjacent attackers, nor reach weapons.

GM Waterhammer |

Taking 10 to start a fire seems reasonable. You could keep on trying until you succeed. A flint & steel virtually guarantees success.
Autumn has the skill craft bows, but it's more a question of: Does the right kind of tree grow in the region?
I'm going to arbitrarily say: There is a 25% chance of a good yew or similar tree near. So d100, and if you can roll higher than 75 there is a suitable branch or sapling.
I roll for wandering monsters using d%. The monsters appear on a low roll.

Autumn Moon |

Well you can make a bow out of more than Yew wood. That is just the most common known.
Yew, Wych Elm, Ash, Hawthorn, Apple, Pear, Cherry, and Laburnum. But the last one is one most people don't like to use unless the really just want that look. Mainly it would be one of the first four types that Autumn would be looking for.
It also depends upon the type of bow you want to make. A flat bow can be made out of Elm, Maple, Ash, and Oak.
I know too much! >_<
I'm just going to roll the d%! XD

Caerwyn Callandriil |

My apologies, things are a little crazy right now. Last week my Father in Law was admitted to the hospital for an infection and dehydration. Yesterday we received the test results from the hospital and it's been determined he has colon cancer. Given his age and state of health we are consulting with his doctors on the best course of treatment. Surgery, while an option, is risky and he may not survive the operation.
Needless to say things are quite up in the air right now so if need be please feel free to bot me until such time as I can devote more attention to the game.
Thanks.

Autumn Moon |

That is understandable man, you do what you need to and be there for your family. I hope everything goes well.

Regina Caro |

I am sorry to hear that. Take all the time you need. The game will still be here.

Autumn Moon |

I've been mainly waiting on other people to reply or jump in but I guess it has mostly been stalled because of the site problems?

Regina Caro |

Twice the website ate my post! Twice :(

Caerwyn Callandriil |

Thank you everyone for you patience while my family and I get things sorted out. My Father in Law has met with both his primary physician and an oncologist in the last couple of weeks. One has said that his heart is not strong enough for surgery while the other says he's not strong enough for chemotherapy. So it appears the best course of treatment is no treatment at this time.
There are still a couple of more doctors visits scheduled during the coming weeks but I feel that things have settled down enough after the initial scare that I can begin to start posting again on a regular basis.
Again I apologize if my absence has caused any undue problems and look forward to getting some semblance of normalcy back.
Thank you,
Mike

Regina Caro |

No apologies needed. Family comes first.

Autumn Moon |

Agreed man, you take care of them first.

Autumn Moon |

Can appraise be made untrained?

Autumn Moon |

Cool! I'll see about doing that then.
Also, we are looking for another player in this game so you know, check it out. See if you're interested?
