So, I'm back. From Manchester, UK to central Arizona via Los Vegas. Something like 15 hours of travel. I'll be catching up on stuff now, but I'm back to work Monday, so don't expect it to be super speedy. I feel great right now, but that's due to sleep loss insanity. Best I find my way into bed soon.

Dont suppose anyone can go slightly more in depth on how the gathering of things needed works. Like I think i have the gist of it, but im just not sure.


Well, let's suppose Herger wants to recruit an acolyte. An acolyte costs 2 goods, 2 influence, 2 labor, and 3 magic. And takes 3 days to complete the process.

So he spends his first day acquiring goods. He takes 10 for a 17, which gains him 1 unit of goods. He could have rolled of course, and a result higher than 20 would have earned 2 units of goods. The 30 required to gain 3 units of goods is out of reach for now. An outlay of 10 gold is required to fully acquire the unit of goods.
So if Herger has the gold he could, over the course of 9 days acquire sufficient capital to obtain an acolyte. Then 3 days later the acquisition would be complete, and the acolyte would be available to help generate influence, magic, or gold. If he rolls instead of taking 10, he could possibly reduce the time needed to generate the capitol.

Herger's 2nd best skill is Diplomacy, which is usable to generate magic, Labor, and goods. His best skill is heal, which is usable to generate influence.

Sadly, Herger does not have any professional, or crafting skills, so he would have to do unskilled work to gain gold. Unskilled work only pays .5 gp per day. You can create incomplete goods and pay for them later, just keep track of them separately, because they are unusable till the gp price is paid.

Teams and rooms can be bought with gold as well, they have a listed gp price in the description.

Also if we want as Autumn has the most skills that could be used for gathering coin and such, Autumn can earn the coin that the rest use to gather Goods, Influence, Labor, and Magic for us.

This is a open form game, so if anyone wants to stay and do downtime stuff that's cool. Anyone can go off and do other stuff anytime. We'll just keep the different groups in spoilers if that starts happening.

There are going to be designated down times, but this one got cut short. Doesn't mean you can't keep doing downtime stuff, but the Stolen Lands are in flux. Things will happen. A fine example is: Jhod Kahvken rides out Fireday morning, whether anyone goes with him, or not.

I really didn't want to do a downtime session at this point, the story really doesn't call for it, but I rightly guessed that my travel schedule would be too exhausting for me to want to run the game for you all.
Traveled to London, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, then out of Manchester to Los Vegas in anyone was curious. Was all either travel, or touring days, so kind of tiring. Very cool though.

Yeah, Autumn ain't letting this guy go out on his own. The description of the bear would not bode well for anyone and with hunters in the area as well as the fact our group could stumble across it, best to go against it now and in force!
Though this could also be me throwing things out of proportion, and over worrying... I do that! XD


Las Vegas seems out of place in your list of destinations! In any case, it makes my recent travels seem very mundane: Toronto-Montreal-Toronto-Montreal-Toronto-Montreal-Toronto. Over the course of ten days. Ridiculous.

I live in central Arizona. It's a 4.5 hour drive to Vegas. We have a closer international airport in Phoenix, but the flights have stupid transfers,and cost more.

I am totally okay with this! In character we get to learn a little bit about the local creature life, battle, and level! I don't see a downside here.

Sure, we'll call it an exotic pelt, trade goods, gp value based on condition. Condition: 1d8 ⇒ 2

So condition not so good, it's been perforated, and maybe a bit mangy.

Taking the Animal Companion conversation to discussion. I see your point but the document does say: "This ability functions like the druid animal companion ability (which is part of the nature bond class feature)."
Looking up animal companions they have a number of abilities one of which is LINK "A druid can handle her animal companion as a free action, or push it as a move action, even if she doesn’t have any ranks in the Handle Animal skill. The druid gains a +4 circumstance bonus on all wild empathy checks and Handle Animal checks made regarding an animal companion. " Note while it does reference a druid it always does so without regards to the Ranger (a core class) that has access to a companion starting at 4th level. The only clear restriction that I see is that for a ranger his level is reduced by 3 in relation to his Animal Companion. A hunter seems to be the same as a druid in this case for all abilities of an Animal Companion.

Wow that's very long winded. So to sum it up is the Link ability limited to Animal Companions(AC) of Druids or is it an inherent ability of the AC regardless of which class feature gives access to it? I wish it was clearer but I all campaigns that I've been involved with give it to rangers with AC's, if a ranger has it then logically a hunter would.

And that leaves it up to the GM! Yeah! (Scurries off, ducking all responsibility.)

I was reading under the Animal Companion area. You know that part were it tells you that you get one. I always thought that if it was something the handler got then it would be under their stuff you know? But it is in the animal's area? That was not well thought out...

Still, I do believe that Frostbite gets link, thus would mean that she has the +4.

Yeah that's where I found it and agree that's odd though I kind of see the logic. Link isn't your ability it, I think, represents Frostbite's love of you, so the ability empowers you but belongs to him. But it is rather confusing.

I keep forgetting that it’s an area and not a targeted effect!!! Mind you, surely I can place the area to exclude Titian?


Sleep is only a 10 radius burst so Titian is just out of reach. And yes, you can target the effect to avoid allies. In this case, you stated that the bandit was the target, which, logically, makes him the center point of the spell. Unless you clarify otherwise.

Right. I probably meant to mention Torek’s perception results...

Truth is, there is nothing hidden. Any bandit can be seen if you have a clear line of sight to them.
