Hey Gang --
It's time for our annual State of the Union questionnaire about online play!
We want feedback from all of you! Interested? Read on!

2017 State of the Union Questionnaire
Howdy, and regionally appropriate greetings, everyone
Once a year, before each season starts, we like to get feedback on how things are going, as a community and in regard to the Online VO positions.
This year we are doing it a little differently and we would like to get a broader and deeper response from the community as a whole.
If you would be so kind, please fill in the following, short, questionnaire with your thoughts on Online Play - it will be immensely helpful as we plan things for the new season.
State of the Union Questionnaire
The questionnaire is completely anonymous - so you can really let us have it, if you so feel like it (we have thick skin, so it's all good). ;b
Thank you all for all that you guys do - it is much appreciated.
Until later - May your adventures be many and your dice always roll true.
- Jesse

I had to call the US to get mine sorted too! Of course, it is easier because I am in the U.S. Diego sorted me out really quickly though:

I hope that this helps, Psyblade!

Hello Everyone --
I have heard that there may be some people who have signed up for multiple sessions of 1-00 Claim to Salvation. Gang, it is not an Evergreen and there are no replays for anyone in Starfinder yet.
Please... If you are currently signed up for more than one session of 1-00, choose the table at which you wish to play this excellent adventure, and then inform your other GMs that you are withdrawing from their table so that others can play.
The known Starfinder Evergreeens to date are:
1-01 The Commencement
SFS Quests - Into the Unknown
Thanks so much,
Hmm

I'll be playing a lot on Roll20 and I'm curious, what the rules are on running scenario 1-00 outside of conventions and gamedays?

Once it's available to buy, it's available to run like any "normal" scenario.

GM Cwethan |

Any word on when it will be available to buy? I've found that information weirdly difficult to come by.

GM Cwethan |

Sigh, too late to delete, just saw that John replied on the product thread.
But yay!

GM Hmm |

Glad you got your answer!
Starfinder fans, I put in a plea for Starfinder Avatars. If you want to join in with polite enthusiasm, feel free.

I never flag where I read things, so can't go looking for a quote, but I am quite sure I saw it mentioned twice that the SF APs will be 100% valid for SFS (meaning you get credit, and there are no sanctioned parts vs. the rest of the AP, the entire AP is "sanctioned").
I also remember reading that the APs are a bit shorter, thus they fit SFS play better.
And that they are written with the SFS credit-thing in mind from the get go.
(I have the AP but did not look at it yet, hoping to play it before DMing it, but I doubt that will happen...).

Character and Ship Sheets are up for download. (Link)
Now we just need to make them editable. Especially the Ship one.

GM Hmm |

Ooohhhhh, it looks like the first part of Dead Suns will be getting approved for society use! Would anyone be interested in trying a SFS legal version? Or is it a little too early to be thinking about such things?
No, it's not. I'm running for PBP Gameday VI. Once it gets sanctioned, I'll see if I can get Jesse to add it and the Season 9 PFS stuff to the PBP dropdown menu.
Remember that APs do not qualify for Scenario support, so if you run it, you have to buy it!
Hmm

GM Hmm |

Oh, phooey. I may have to poke Tonya on the quests... My bandwidth is really low right now, but I'll see what I can do.
Hmm
EDIT: I wonder if they failed to drop because they will be a free product on August 17?
Hmm rereads rules on scenario drops...
Yes, that's why. They don't provide scenarios that you can download yourself. And since our convention starts after launch, you'll be able to download them yourself. Bah. I'm sorry that you've been shorted on prep, Redelia.
EDIT 2: I wish that I could point you to the prep that some of the SFS GMs for GenCon have done, but we're still all under an NDA and cannot share our prep until after August 17...

It was in one of the recent Starfinder society blog posts, but this is why I'm excited (also because it's shorter than Pathfinder AP's it might mean we can finish!)
Also I'm not certain what it takes for a sanctioned AP to be legal for organized play, thus the qualification on being SFS legal. :D

Well, I cannot imagine that SFS is not like PFS, and thus when you have a Paizo blog stating that the entirety of the Starfinder Adventure Paths are sanctioned for Organized Play, well, that in itself is what makes them legal.
We are waiting for the SFS Guide but it has basically been officially announced that the APs are SFS Legal in their entirety.

Magabeus |

The PFS equivalent: That you get a chronicle for finishing (part of) that AP as if it was a long scenario. Most (all?) chronicles for PFS APs grant 3xp and 4pp per AP chapter (6 for each AP)
There is somewhat more to it, but the above is the outline.

![]() |

The xp and pp earned can be applied to any pfs characters?
In PFS Each Pathfinder AP chronicle sheet has a level range attached to it such as 2-4 or 5-7 and is applied to a character when they reach or are in that tier.
We have seen nothing to indicate that Starfinder AP chronicles will work any different
Pretty sure it's going to be pathfinder for PFS and Starfinder for SFS

![]() |

The xp and pp earned can be applied to any pfs characters?
In PFS (and it seems it will be the same in SFS) you can play an AP with a PFS character, your own PFS character.
So long as the character is in the level range of the AP's tier. Then you apply the XP/PP to the character.
If you play the AP with a pregen for any reason (you do not have an available character of the correct level etc.) then you follow pregen rules (as Merisal stated here) for applying XP/PP

![]() |

That makes sence. They know they are going to get demands for it, so starting off on the front foot so they don't get behind is important.
Also in terms of generating lots of content early on. Otherwise at one or two scenarios a month folk will be very short on games they can play right at the start.

Thursty has said that Dead Suns will be sanctioned by GenCon. Let's hope they make the deadline!
Meanwhile... can the Hivemind look over this SFS PBP Character template? It's inspired by a PFS template that GM Poblano put together.
I am thinking of including it in the New PBP GM Kit, along with everything else I have shoved in there. (In fact it is already in there, just not indexed along with everything else.)
Is this something that you and your players might find helpful?
Hmm

Sedoriku |

I'm not a GM, but that looks good to me (When I started pbp a few years ago, I had to make my own, having something like this would have been wonderful!)
I do have one suggestion about the tag lines at the beginning, the resolve points might be better served in their own brackets as they are tangentially related to health and stamina at best and the three in a series like that is hard to parse at a glance. But otherwise it looks great!

GM Hmm |

Good point. Done!
If anyone else spots something that needs changing, let me know.

A quick question: is t okay to run PbP in non-English languages (Aklo, Polyglot, French...) here?
I'll go read all the info' here, but if it's a no-no for some reason it'll save me some time.
(I've been asked by a few different people to run a game in French, so will go for SFS if this is okay to do).

We can't play in another language on Paizo.com (the moderators aren't expected to speak more than English, so there's no way to moderate. Not to mention the profanity filter doesn't cover everything. Zut alors!
(Being one of the people who asked to play in another language, I'm bummed about it, but I understand Paizo's position.)

GM Hmm |

That said, my next goal is to recruit French and Spanish language VAs for PbP games on other forums. That's right... I want to make the online PBP kingdom multi-lingual. Is there a PbP forum that you recommend, Eric? I've been looking at pathfinder-fr.org but I am willing to take other recommendations if they exist.
I am also looking for go-getter people for this who would help encourage a PBP community on these sites.
Hmm

GM Hmm |

I can help for Korean? o: /shot
Are you an active member of a Korean language online community, Hiyami? I know that there are a lot of PFS games in a number of asian countries, but I don't know how much translation the community does of Paizo scenarios. Still, I know of GMs on here from Singapore (Just a Mort and Not2Fear) and Indonesia (Batpony), so Korea would not be a surprise.
I should also note that I have been expanding the PbP kingdom sloooowly. I have only so much bandwidth, and it takes time to integrate a new site. Still, I want to open up opportunities for PbP play in other languages.
Huh. I should also check what Myth-Weavers and RPGgeek have for language policies, come to think of it...

I will check pathfinder-fr.org out, and get back to you.
I know the site, of course, but do not use it much (and never checked the PbP part they have).
I simply don't use the site much, since in France, most of the players use the English language books, and play in French using the specific English terms (quite funny, actually, if you think of it, but all are so used to it...
For example:
"Bon, je caste (French "PFS" verb based on 'to cast') Mage Armor (pronounce: Mahj Armoor[/i] avec mon wand, j'ai 12 en UMD (pronounce: Ooo Emm Day)".
I can also ask around for the go-getter people who speak French and at least good enough English.

GM Hmm |

I actually want them involved as active posters in whatever community they're going to serve, too. And they have to love PbP.
I'm picky!
