Maps and Info

Hello all,

looking for a replacement character for one of my Reign of Winter games. We are losing one of our players due to real life concerns. He has genrously agreed to stick it out until the end of the current set of encounters, but I would like to bring in a replacement ASAP.

We are still in part one of book one. The PCs are level 2 right now, and exploring the unnatural winter in the border wood. for more context feel free to PM me or read the gameplay thread.

We are losing our only divine caster (a full cleric), so ideally the new PC would be able to cast divine spells whether or not they go full healer/support or something like a warpriest or inquisitor.

in addition to making a level 2 character, please include in your profile the reason your character would be in the border wood and would run into the party.

I will choose a PC by the end of this weekend

Sounds interesting. What are the character creation rules? Standard L2 WBL? Do you want a campaign trait?

I would be interested in a full healer/support cleric. What are the design rules?

The basic rules for character creation are found in the campaign info tab.

Only addition is that we will use standard WBL for a level 2 character.

Dotting. Working on a gnome oracle of the heavens who worships Desna and loves traveling.

How are we doing hit points for level 2?

Funny enough, the PC you would be replacing is a gnome cleric of Desna who loves traveling.

hit points for level 2 can either be the average or can be rolled in this thread

Okay, cool. Amusingly, I was initially thinking of making a Cleric of Desna, but decided to go Oracle because I thought the Heavens mystery would be really fun for this Adventure Path.

1d8 ⇒ 8

I'll take that.

EDIT: Do you have any specific requirements for a Background? I didn't see it on the Campaign Info page (although I might have missed it).

Dot.

I'm going to dot this. I'm not 100% sure what I'm willing to submit, but hoping for some inspiration.

This summoner (Life Spirit Summoner) can fill in for healing as she can channel and gets access to many of the important healing spells (restoration and the like).

She can't cast cure spells, but could use wands (plan to max UMD) and can get Infernal Healing if needed.

She was created with Reign of Winter in mind.

If you like the concept, she can easily be tweaked to level 2 and to fit your creation guidelines.

Here is Phntm888's submission, Porablum Flapzit, Gnome Oracle of the Heavens. Let me know if it looks good. Porablum will mostly be healing & support, while being perfectly capable of going into melee once the buffs are cast. She can also provide some offensive spellcasting, as Awesome Display really ups the usefulness of Pattern spells.

I'm reusing the alias.

I have this Taldan Merciful Cleric of Sarenrae that could easily be adapted for Reign of Winter. Is this the type of support character you're looking for?

She would just need to be updated for level 2 and a background story adjustment, which I can do later tonight. Been looking for a Reign of Winter game, so this would be a good fit.

Submission from Origami Dog, He's an NG Human Oracle of Bones. Not much experience with APs or Pbp, so let me know if changes need to be made. Took mostly support skills so he might be a little weak in combat, but should be a great help in surviving the winter.

OK, applications are closed now. along with feedback from my existing players, we will be going with Porablum Flapzit.

I am running 2 tables of RoW at the same time, and both games are still early. there will likely be need for other replacements in the future. I will get in touch with people who posted here before making a new post on the recruitment forum if another PC has to drop out.

It has been over a year since my last post in this thread, but we have lost another PC in this game. as I mentioned, if any of you that gave a submission for the last opening were still interested you have first dibs before i open this up with a new recruitment thread.

if you are still looking to play in this game (we are now ending book 1), please reply here or send me a PM. If i don't get responses in a few days I'll likely make a new thread and start fresh

I'm not one of the people who posted here over a year ago, but I would very much like to play. I've played some reign of winter IRL roughly up to the point you are at, but I had to drop that due to not being able to make the sessions anymore. What sort of character are you looking for?

I'm interested! I've got the same question as Oyzar, as to what kind of character you'd need.

One more interested party here and I'd also like to echo the previous question.

I'd like to add the question of how you see the new character joining the party, considering the party's current location? That could serve as inspiration when creating the concept.

Dotting this with interest if it's open to new applicants.

I’d also apply as a new applicant if you open this up. Also, what role is most needed?

GM My Bright Morning,

I would be interested in still joining the campaign. It appears you lost a Ranger. I would be happy to play a ranger, slayer, or a slayer/fighter.

Jack

I am looking for a game and would very much like to join. Ranger is one of my favorite classes, so I am fine with playing this role, but I also have a Paladin Faithful Wanderer

Dark Archive

looks like your a little light in the Arcane department. Let's see what I can come up with. Thinking an Alchemist with fire bombs might be in order.
What level would we be coming in at? Starting Gold and any equipment restrictions?

Seems like there is a fighter, a rogue, a magus and an oracle already in the party? It's rather well rounded, but a bit lacking on the arcane side with only a 6th level caster. So some kind of arcane caster might be the best fit.

What do you think of a halfling bard focused on exploring the world and finding marvelous new experiences while helping out where he can? A natural follower of Desna looking to record some tales and help in their making.

Taking Oyzar's point to heart I changed my mind and instead went with an Evoker Wizard, specializing in Fire magic, Randeron the Red. His sister was apprenticed to a Winter Witch in Irrisen who displeased her mistress and was sent home in a pine box, accompanied by Mynx, her ermine familiar. Devastated by her death, Randeron swore a vendetta against not only her mistress but against all Winter Witches in general. He began studying magic, focusing on fire to counter the cold based spells of his enemies.

I would be interested but I need to update Vernonia.

I will get a Velashu (Ulfen blood) Slayer built out with the Northern Ancestary trait (Campaign Trait) and Tactician (Combat Trait). I can have it up by the end of this weekend.

The character is still Level 1 so I assume I would rise him a bit closer to your Party and I createtd him for a Wrath of Rightenous Campaign, so the story and the Campaign feat will have to be adapted.

I am a very active player posting at least daily and a long time Roleplaying veteran. I am relatively new to PbP but catching on nicely in the last month.

Markos Dentros

Background:

A night in Mendev
Soaked in sweat young Markos sit up in his bed, breathing heavily and trying to shake the bad dream out of his thoughts. But the screams and the smell of Smoke dont seem to go away. Soon he realizes that it was not a dream after all, but the village was under attack by the Abbyssal forces.

He jumps out of bed and cries out for his mother when he is relaizign that he is not alone in the room. A small red devil with claws for his hands is sliding through the window seaching for prey. Markos panically runs for the door, but is to slow. Shortly before he reaches the doorhandle he feels a heavy weight in his back and is slammed forward into the ground. The attacker is sitting on his back and its claws grab for Markos' head trying to twist it off.

Fueled by his fear Markos pushes up and runs backward, crushing the devil into nearby wall, forcing the devil to release his hold shortly, leaving a huge Clawmark on Markos cheek.

Running as fast as he can Markos reaches the door and turns the handle. But when the door opens a huge shape in standing in the doorframe and grabs the boy.
"Nicodemos I found a survivor! Please come he is bleeding heavily."

Aftermath
A small Battalion of crusaders had reached the village and was soon able to scatter the invaders, but Markos PArents where among the Victims.

But Nicodemos had found a liking to the boy and he has travveled with the Crusaders for some time learning the art of Knightly Combat. But sooner or later the restlessness and the discomfort caused by his hideous wounds drove him to search for a more solitary way of revenge.

So far I'm looking at a Snow May Changeling (mum's a winterhag). Luckily for her, her mother died in an accident (which my character may or may not have had a hand in) so being transformed into a hag herself is off the table.

She actually knows her father as her birth was the result of a mutual bid for power as opposed to the regular hag on man predation. He's one of the Jadwiga Yelizaveta, spawn of Irrisen's previous queen. My character however is a Stilyagi, or culture crow, so one of the young adults that reject Jadwiga culture and instead embrace other, more distant cultures (or at least their interpretation of it).

I'm looking at two options at the moment, depending on what is wanted/needed. For a full caster I'd go Esoteric Starseeker Psychic and if more martial ability is needed I'll instead go Occultist.

Glad to see so much interest in the campaign! however, as mentioned, I will be giving preference to a player that has given a bid in the past. at this point only one of my old applicants has replied, so ALLENDM will be getting this slot.

I have 3 tables of this game running, and with all fo the stuff going on in the world I would not be surprised if i need to find another PC soon. the next recruitement will be more open to new applicants

Thanks GM My Bright Morning.

I will get my character set up ASAP and post in the discussion board.
