Looking into the north room, those near the door see a humanoid figure, wearing robes that resemble those worn in Katapesh poking around in the room filled with crates, barrels, and gardening tools. The figure's face is not visible except for the eyes. The head is covered in a turban with a decorative jeweled decoration. A headscarf wraps around the lower portion of the face. The figure could be a man or a woman. No obvious weapons or armor can be seen, but a belt holds a small pouch and a bag, which the figure clutches when started by the opening door.

The person quickly relaxes and places palms together and makes a small bow in the direction of the group. "Excellent! Are you perhaps the gardeners of this wondrous place? I am Dendrar, the humble servant of my master, who is in the other room. I would be most pleased if you would let me introduce you to him, for he has many questions about this place." His voice is low and sounds male.

Nobody senses any deceit in his words or anything amiss in his appearance.

The stranger shrugs and says, "My master has ways to cross dimensions. He can perhaps help you if you need such travel. He will welcome a chance to ask you questions and will answer questions in turn. I can offer a reward for your trouble if you are skeptical of our good intentions."

He reaches into a pouch and lifts and drops red gemstones that may be rubies. "Let me introduce you," he says and moves toward the door and waits, evidently hoping those in the way will step aside so he can get to the other door.

Appraise: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23

Pyrrhus eyes the stones and soon shifts his gaze back at the man. While he did not see mischief initially, now he was thoroughly suspicious, for he was raised in Ular Kel, very close to the Kelish empire and despite the stranger's remarkable appearance, no kelishite would throw away gems like that.

"I'm also curious about your master, for he might be extremely wealthy!" He tells the stranger, while eyeing his new companions.

Bluff (Secret Message): 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (15) + 19 = 34

Passing secret message to the others: "He is lying, but don't know what." Friends receive the message automatically, but the "enemy" will need a Sense Motive check.

Ingrit frowns, sighing to herself as Pyrrhus simply blurts out their own situation to the stranger. Oddly enough, the offer of a reward, and seeming eagerness to lead them through the door, rather than the stranger's mster simply coming out to meet them, makes her more suspicious.

Sense Motive (Human): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19

So far, when dealing with the hut, nothing was ever what it appeared to be on the surface.

"What is your Master's name? I would love to be able to speak to him correctly once we meet. Crasius asks the man.

"Unfortunately, I cannot tell you master's name. He forbids me to do this. He says those who know magic could use his name in ways that would harm the master or force him to serve another. You may address him as you choose, as long as you show him proper respect. He is great and generous to those with whom is well pleased."

Pyrrhus Durst wrote:
"I'm also curious about your master, for he might be extremely wealthy!" He tells the stranger, while eyeing his new companions.

The stranger seems a little puzzled by this assertion, but responds, "Wealth is counted in many ways. For one who travels the dimensions, knowledge is the greatest wealth. Master is extremely wealthy indeed if you value knowledge. In some places, these stones are merely pretty baubles but most places value them highly. We have little need for them and only carry them as a way to encourage a fair exchange of information."

He offers anyone a gem to examine.

Not convinced, Pyrrus scans the gem for magic and, if they appear to be mundane, he'll pick them for further inspection.

Had rolled a 23 on appraise before, but can roll again if you prefer.

"Intriguing, well please go and bring your master." Crasius will motion to let him through as he waits to see what or who this master is.

Lets get this rolling!

Thorizmond eyes the stranger suspiciously. He is wary, but can't quite put his finger on why. I have no skills that would mean anything in this situation. But nothing in this hut is completely what it seems.

As Pyrrhus casts a spell, the stranger looks warily but does not object.

Pyrrhus:
The rubies are not magical but have a value of 100 gp each. In the pouch is something else giving off a strong aura of Conjuration magic, but he cannot identify what is causing it.

"I cannot ask my master to come to you. He would be insulted. He is in the next room. Allow me to make introductions."

Again, he moves toward the door as far as he can, clearly hoping those in the way will move aside.

Despite seeing no trickery in the rubies, the man's insistency rubs him the wrong way. "I agrree with Rrurrike. I sink I'd rrazerr have yourr masterr insulted zan us falling in a trrab."

The stranger sighs and gestures toward the door across the hall. "It would be better if I introduce you, but you can open that door and introduce yourselves."
