Anock
|
The VC seems to be ignoring Anock, who takes that as a personal affront. How *dare* anyone dismiss her?! Maybe she was receiving multiple messages at once, and didn't register what I said. It's a stretch, but it's about all she can think of to keep her cool as she tries again: "Venture-Captain Naiaj! There is an imminent threat! That crate is set to explode! You need to calmly ask everyone to leave the auditorium! NOW!"
Little Lendtech

"Does anybody have a smoke grenade? I we can get it into the box before it opens, maybe we can choke them out? "
Does anyone have a good option against oozes? Little's got nothing.

Venture-Captain Naiaj's speech is ever so briefly interrupted with a glare thrown in Anock's way, before she continues, subtly weaving in a response ..and as ever, every Starfinder's duty is to deal with whatever is thrown their way....
Meanwhile, the timer on the opening mechanism keeps ticking, and though there is no countdown clock, it doesn't sound like it will take much longer before that crate opens.
You can attempt to disable the crate’s automatic opening mechanism using Computers or Engineering, remove the crate from the room without startling the oozes with Sleight of Hand or Stealth, or soothe the proogs so they don’t become aggressive via Diplomacy or Survival. Careful, failure has consequences, and I'll treat rolls in the order they come in!

Hey now, oozes are a varied bunch :)
As Sneaker starts to move the crate further and further away from the other Starfinders - a good move in case things go wrong - Collector floats along the skittermander and tries to find - and then jam - the opening aperture to buy even more time.

Sneaker gently moves the crate, and the proogs actually purr a bit (it's quite strange to hear a medal purring) as the crate moves. The collector then manages to disable the explosive mechanism, ending the threat.
One of the proogs slithers out of the crate, and starts following Sneaker - like cute, but oddly form-shifting pet. While doing so, it drops one of the real medals, which looks to be magical (And is a recovery aegis)
Just as the group deals with the threat, they spot a humanoid creature dashing away!
The shape disappears through an access panel..
Each player should make a check for themselves (I need 3 successes):
- Acrobatics to dodge through tight spaces,
- Engineering to find a shortcut through the infrastructure, or
- Survival to quickly navigate confusing twists and turns

Sorry for my delay in posting. I'm a teacher and this weekend is busy with grading and prep for a new set of classes.
Mysticism: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Luanna too senses the presence of the oozes but struggles to figure out what to do to either disable the device or move the crate. She is prepared to use telekinetic force on it, but then sneaker and Collector save the day.
Seeing the likely culprit slipping away, Luanna pursues, using skills she learned in survival classes from her military school days.

Hey! Wait! We just want to talk - Thyr broadcasts out after the darting figure but too slowly as they speed through a panel.
They thyr prepares to compress themselves after the fleeer, but realizes their allies might need a larger trail to follow.
Engineering: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Perhaps this way: I think that's maintenance shaft's other access point is around here...
"Sneaker"

Sneaker bends down and picks up the aegis and the proog "Hello newfriend. Do you have something for me? Or maybe maybe you've decided to come home with me?" He carefully places the creature in a convenient pocket. "We'll get you something to eat and figure out your name name a bit later. Right now we have work to do."
Sneaker begins to chase the suspect.

Anock

Utterly disgusted by the VC's dismissive attitude (Endangering all these civilians! Irresponsible! For the love of all that's purple!), Anock dashes after her team. They're hot on the trail of someone, and she's hot on theirs.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

The creature runs away through the tunnels, but the Starfinder crew remains hot on its tail. They even manage a glimpse of the creature's greenish skin and rather wild hairdo.
After a few twists and turns, the trail goes right through a grouping of klikharp enclosures.
Klikharps are Medium vermin often bred as pets; their young are smaller and less docile than adults, and thus pose a greater danger.
It looks like several crates have already been disturbed by the fleeing creature, and any further disturbance could send the young creatures into forming an angry swarm.
- Life Science to safely avoid provoking the klikharp young or
- Stealth to sneak past their cages.
Little Lendtech

After the crate ...
"Little dude, you are a skitter of hidden talents. Solid work, there Mr. Winds." Little bobs his head up and down in appreciation.
At the klikharps
You all better go first. I'm likely to spook the whole lot of them."
Little gestures to the panoply of tools hanging from loops and out of pockets all over his coveralls.
Wil wait to go last.

There there, Collector Rides on Winds slows slightly to right a few of the crates. They adjust their suit’s audio speakers to play some nature sounds from the klikharps’ natural habitat.

| AbadarCorp Entertainment |
Sneaker and Mizzrym set the course for the best route past the klikharp, away from light disturbances, and Little and Collector make sure the creatures are not roused too much - with soothing bossanova tunes.
The vent leads into a thoroughfare, and now is the first time the group gets a clear view of who they're chasing: it's a small goblin with fabulous hair, who is using her small stature to her advantage by just slipping past and under the legs of the larger creatures around her (and quite upsetting some of the unsuspecting bystanders!)
- Athletics to force your way through,
- Diplomacy to agreeably part the crowd, or
- Intimidate to scare people out of the way
Luanna Farella
|
Luanna keeps up with the others, getting past the cages and out into the populated area. She projects telepathic messages urgently asking people to clear a path toward the goblin with the big hair. Please clear a path. That goblin with the bright hair is a criminal and needs to be apprehended. Thank you.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
Anock

Anock's bonuses for this one are +0, -1, -1. I almost want my roll to be abysmally bad, just for flavor. Almost, but not quite.
"Ugh! Move, people!" Anock tries shoving her way through the crowd, assuming they're too self-absorbed to listen to instructions.
Athletics: 1d20 ⇒ 11
Collector Rides on Winds

Ahem Collector clears their...thoughts before trying to loudly send their message through their suit's speakers.
<Disperse. There is a fugitive prankster at large.>
<Please and thank you.>
Intimidate: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (13) + 0 = 13
| AbadarCorp Entertainment |
So far, the group isn't too succesful as convincing the crowd they should move aside, though Luanna makes a good impression, and Sneaker manager to clear a bit of a path.
Need a roll for Mizzrym to see if you can get to three successes!
| AbadarCorp Entertainment |
Mizzrym's experience makes all the difference, and the group manages to close in on the goblin - she is obviously wearing a hairpiece of some sort, and is carrying a huge (relative to her size) vibrahorn on her back. It doesn't stop her from jumping down a chute, though.
Perception to spot the way forward, Piloting to orienteer in the crowded tunnels, or Sense Motive to follow the goblin’s path down the twisting chutes

Anock reaches out with her blindsense to try to sense which way their quarry is turning. "They turned left, then left again!"

I must admit Little Collector thinks to him as they fly and flow after the prankster through the tunnels. When you jumped to 'goblin' I thought the guess appeared premature and random. But your prediction seems to be spot on!
Piloting: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
| AbadarCorp Entertainment |
The group doesn't get confused at while traveling down the chute, and with some deft piloting skill manage to land safely once the lower end dumps them out - except for Collector, who lands flat on his face, which is quite embarassing.
The group finds themselves in a familiar area: the very same stinking hideout they explored before, scrap bot still strewn about in parts.
The vibraphone-wearing, mulleted goblin whistles, causing two more to pop out from hidden positions.
A space goblin is wearing station wear and a loud collared shirt, and steps forward. He grins and holds out his hands in a universal ceasefire gesture. “You caught us! Did you like ‘em? The gifts? We’ve been leavin’ you presents all over Lorespy Palace. Gotcha medals, and treats, and a Starfinder fighting a daffrex. Good stuff, right? Smell good too!”
The other two goblins slowly creep closer toward the group, their eyes wide as saucers and their faces pictures of innocence.

"Sneaker"

"Well I liked them but not everyone is so so appreciative. Some of the gifts were starting to get dangerous. Why were you sending them anyway? Also I don't suppose you have any more of those those tee shirts in my size do you?"
Sneaker cautiously watches the other two goblins. They seem a bit too nonchalant. They might be up to something. [ooc]Sense Motive +7[/dice]
Mizzrym'

Mizzrym’ is ready to burn the goblins as eradicated these pests was what it will have do it back home, but knowing that the Starfinder has negotiators and privilege the diplomatic way, he lets his most talkative comrades take the lead.
Luanna Farella
|
"If you are Starfinders, then you should be ejected for endangering people, even if your intentions may have been benign, err, not evil," Luanna says, thinking better of using big words that might be misinterpreted. "If you are not Starfinders, you are trespassing and breaking other laws. So either way, you'll have to come with us so we can report you and let the Starfinders and the Stewards deal with you. Will you come peacefully?"
Collector Rides on Winds

Can we ask Collector Rides on Winds glides forwards, hoping to keep things calm while there is still a lot of questions to be answered why you were leaving us gifts? And why you didn't want to sign them?
I am Collector Rides on Winds they add. Though 'Collector' is fine. May I ask who you are?
Little Lendtech

Ooo. Luanda, that's not going to work. Little doubts the goblins will come peacefully based on their rep. He just hopes they'll say why before the fight begins.
"I call him Mr. Winds. That's also fine."

Anock is apoplectic. "Like them?! Gifts?! Are you mad?! You're spreading possible contagions all over the place and injuring people! What on all the habitable planets were you thinking?!" She seems to have forgotten that a good leader doesn't instigate confrontation unnecessarily. Oops.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
They probably won't surrender, but we have to offer a chance to surrender, Luanna explains telepathically to the Starfinders.
| AbadarCorp Entertainment |
Somewhat surprisingly, the goblins start groveling when the group threatens violence. The whigged, vibrafone-wearing goblin jumps back with a surprisingly musical squeal. You didn't like gifts? We are big huge mondo fans of the Starfinders, we'd thought you like gifts...
The goblins make absolutely no effort to resist arrest - they seem to be very aware that fighting a group of starfinders won't go in their favor.
Little Lendtech
|
"That was too easy," Little comments quietly.
With their apparent surrender, the verthani swings his rifle off his shoulder and holds it horizontally in from of him at waist level. He is careful not to point it at the little menaces.
What gear do the goblins have? We'll want to strip them of weapons, comms, or anything else that could be used as a trigger.
Collector Rides on Winds
|
If you are fans, why did you not reach out? Or apply for admission?
Privately Collector Rides on Winds is skeptical if the goblins would have passed the entrance exams. But there was a time many would have thought the same about skittermanders so one never knows.
Thinking back and recalling some of their earlier findings, they ask Also...are you living in our basement?
To the party they privately think perhaps we should alert Radaszam who we've found
Anock

Anock is stunned into silence. What. the... ? ... ? ...

Sneaker turns and frowns at the starfinders. "You see? It's all a misunderstanding misunderstanding. They're friendly."
The skittermander moves to the goblins and shakes hands with two of them while giving the third a fist bump. "It is good to meet you newfriends. My name is Sneaker. Who are all all of you?"
Mizzrym'

Goblins...
Mizzrym' first response will have been to kill outright these pest creatures, but now he's at Absalom Station and not at home with other drows. He lets his comrades do the talking but keep an eye on the environment to be sure that something is not amiss or there is no other "gifts" ready to explode.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Calling back Radaszam seems a good idea to me. he finally says when collector propose to call the head of his faction.

The goblins look quite dejected that their 'gifts' weren't appreciated, an dmeekly comply with dropping their tech and weapons. Sheena even lays down the vibraphone.
I be Sheena she answers to sneaker, waving her hair, Fabulous Sheena. I make music, and do fashion. Arvin is cool, but needs new haircut! she says, commenting on venture-captain Arvin's signature mohawk look, and voicing her desire to give the VC a make-over.
There's a goblin with a drone who says My name is Credstick Glorgo, but everybody calls me... Glorgo.
He be mastermind! Sheena whispers, interrupting Glorgo.
Thsis is Goblerator 3000! Is regular delivery drone, but I built it better! It now way more cooler and really good a bringing gifts to Sfartinders!
A third goblin comes while at least six more pairs of eyes can be spotted in hidey-holes and hidden places. I be Tricks. I be... magical! the goblin says trying to look cool and mysterious, but instead just looking like a goblin.
He be studying Sheena fills in for big-brainy exam! But looking at Starfinder also good way for him to learn!
We wanted to meet Sfartinder Glorgo explains and we thought we need to bring bestest gift! Nice cool gift! Big machine with Starfinders and gobbos on adventures! In space! Together! Glorgo says, getting a bit carried, and Sheena adds No, gift should be music! Big song! Loud! About new friends meeting on disco planet!. Tricks chimes in with Big performance! Motaphyrical! Mutual admirances! Is he trying to say 'metaphorical'? Who knows?
But now you catch us, we cannot make gift Glorgo says, a bit disappointed. But at least we meet big honcho Starfinder, no?
| AbadarCorp Entertainment |
Do you want to match these guys to Radaszam?
Collector Rides on Winds
|
I don't know if you'll get to go on space adventures Collector hedges. But I think we may be able to have you meet with one of the high up Starfinders.
To the others the thyr thinks they seem compliant enough. i think we should bring them to radaszam. if they meet with a leader they might calm down, and rad can either decide to press charges or maybe spin some sort of deal with them. i have no idea if a goblin alliance would be good pr - but he would, its his whole deal.
