Reflex: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 12 + 2 = 31
After applying Fire Resistance 5, I take a total of 5 damage.
Impossibly fast, Uriel leaps forward and hacks at the rightward Brimorak with his blade!
Using one MP for Fleet Charge, move up to my speed and make an attack as a swift action. That single attack (not the full attack to come after) gains a bonus equal to my tier (+2) and bypasses DR)
Attack, Fleet Charge w/Power Attack: 1d20 + 15 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 15 + 2 = 37

I love this campaign so much.

GM the Fifth |

For some reason I didn't get RSS updates for these posts.
The Vrock is dead.
Daria surges towards the brimorak ahead of her and slashes into it. The strikes leave it heavily wounded.
Kemat unleashes her spell, and as it washes over the brimoraks it seems to fizzle, leaving them unaffected.
Neither roll is good enough to penetrate SR.
Arloric steps up behind Darya, and taps her as he casts his spell.
Uriel surges forward with incredible speed and hammers his target furiously. All but one of his blows land, and the brimorak is gravely wounded.
Round 3
Effects: Haste (all), Heroism (Uriel, Darya)
Brimorak 2, Brimorak 1
Telerin, Arloric, Darya, Uriel, Alexa, <---

Alexa Dorne |

Reflex Save 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Reflex Save 2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Alexa effortlessly evades the incoming fireballs and waits for the paladins to finish up.
Narrow hallway means I don't have much room to maneuver.

Telerin Quenya |

[ooc[ I want to make sure that I do this right if I cast a spell that requires a SR roll, I roll a d20+caster level+Spellpenetration feat? Would my riftwarden class come into play? [/ooc]

GM the Fifth |

A roll against spell resistance is d20 + your caster level + any bonuses from feats etc. Riftwarden adds +1 level to your spellcasting class at a 3/4 advancement (+0 at 1st, and +1 at 2nd-4th). So evoker 5/riftwarden 2 means your caster level is 6, and your roll would be d20+6 (caster level) +2 (spell penetration)

Telerin Quenya |

The elven wizardress casts magic missile at the demon in front of her
3d4 + 3 + 4 ⇒ (1, 2, 3) + 3 + 4 = 13
SR
1d20 + 6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 2 + 2 = 29 spell penetration and elf magic

GM the Fifth |

That is enough to get through SR.
All three missiles strike the brimorak in front of Darya.
One at the a time, the two brimoraks step back away from the paladins, disappearing and reappearing behind Telerin and Kemat with pops of displaced air.
Smoke billows out from their nostrils, threatening to overwhelm the two women.
@Telerin and @Kemat, since you are starting your turn next to the brimoraks, I need two DC17 Fort saves (one for each) to avoid being sickened. If you are immune to poison then you are immune to this effect.
Round 4
Effects: Haste (all), Heroism (Uriel)
Brimorak 2, Brimorak 1
Telerin, Arloric, Darya, Uriel, Alexa, Kemat <---
>>>>> Map <<<<<

![]() |

Fort save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Kemat relies on channeling energy again to keep the warriors in fighting trim.
Channel Energy: Heal: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 5, 2) = 16

Darya Flamekissed |

That's fire damage right? 1d4 per splash? I think Uriel's Fire Resistance 5 ignores it all.

Uriel Aurelius |

"Telerin, Kemat, fall back to us!" Uriel says, needing one of the casters to clear the way so he can attack.
I'll hold my action until one of them moves.

GM the Fifth |

The smoke from the brimoraks overwhelms both Kemat and Telerin and they are racked by waves of nausea and weakness.
You are both sickened.
@Kemat, unless I missed something, only buffs are haste (everyone) and heroism (Uriel, Darya).

Arloric Dziergas-Highbough |

"Come on, Uriel! They need us! I'm not giving one more inch to the demons, whether on the grand map or the individual battlefield!"
Arloric about-faces and rushes towards the others, hugging the wall to let them past him so he can get in front.
Moving to current position, hoping to take Kemat's place once she moves.

Telerin Quenya |

The wizard will retreat 2 squares back and then casts blur on Uriel.
[ooc[ for some reason I cannot move my figure [/ooc]
he subject’s outline appears blurred, shifting, and wavering. This distortion grants the subject concealment (20% miss chance).
A see invisibility spell does not counteract the blur effect, but a true seeing spell does.
Opponents that cannot see the subject ignore the spell’s effect (though fighting an unseen opponent carries penalties of its own).

Uriel Aurelius |

As the Riftwarden casts her spell, Uriel moves forward into combat and takes a mighty hack at one of the brimoraks.
I attack the one in front of Kemat. Stay away from our healer, demon! Vital Strike since I can't full attack.
Attack, Vital Strike: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24
Damage, Cold Iron/Slashing: 2d10 + 10 ⇒ (7, 6) + 10 = 23

Darya Flamekissed |

"Kemat, move back!" Darya calls out, ready to step into the breech as soon as she has room to attack the demons.
Delay

Alexa Dorne |

Alexa takes up a position next to Darya.
Moving next to Darya.
"It's always a pleasure to watch you work, darling." She says with a little smirk.

Darya Flamekissed |

"Hold that thought, Love, I'll be right back!" Darya quips with a smile, moments before surging forward, her blade plunging forward to bring more pain to the demon that had faced off against Telerin moments before.
Radiance/ Haste/ Evil outsider/Charge: 1d20 + 13 + 1 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 13 + 1 + 2 + 2 = 33
Slashing/Magic/Bane/Cold Iron: 1d10 + 3 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 2 + (2, 3) = 14

GM the Fifth |

@Darya, you can't engage at the moment, as Uriel and Arloric are occupying A11 and B11. See the updatedf map. I need new actions from you and @Alexa.
Urial's assault against the more injured brimorak finishes it off, spraying boiling blood into the air.
brimorak 2 is dead
The boiling blood damage can't mechanically get through Uriel's resistance
Arloric moves in and connects with his scimitar, slashing the remaining demon and sending more boiling blood spraying into the air. The smoke from the brimorak's hooves wafts around him.
Arloric, fire damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
@Arloric, as you are ending your turn next to the Brimorak 1, I need a DC17 Fort save to avoid being sickened.
Round 4
Effects: Haste (all), Heroism (Uriel, Darya), Blur (Uriel)
Brimorak 1
Telerin, Arloric, Darya, Uriel, Alexa, Kemat <---

Alexa Dorne |

Alexa turns and faces the other end of the hallway, preparing for any reinforcements coming in.
Readied Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Damage?: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Darya Flamekissed |

Unable to get to the Brimoraks with Arloric in her way, Darya turns on her heel as her love spots more enemy activity, trusting the remaining demon on the other end to her brother's blade.
Held action

GM the Fifth |

The brimorak opens its mouth wide, and a stream of boiling blood jets from its maw.
This is a breath weapon, forming a line from A11 to A2 where it strikes the wall. Uriel, Alexa, Telerin, and Darya are caught in it.
boiling blood breath weapon, fire damage, Refl DC17 half: 5d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 5, 4, 1) = 16
Telerin and Kemat are no longer sickened.
Round 5
Effects: Haste (all), Heroism (Uriel, Darya), Blur (Uriel)
Brimorak 1
Telerin, Arloric, Darya, Uriel, Alexa, Kemat <---

Uriel Aurelius |

Reflex: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
Uriel is able to dodge much of the blood, but is still scalded by the remainder. After applying resistance, I take 3 damage.
Shaking off the demonic ichor, Uriel resumes hacking at the hideous demon.
Attack: 1d20 + 14 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 14 + 1 = 20
Damage, Cold Iron/Slashing: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Attack: 1d20 + 14 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 14 + 1 = 23
Damage, Cold Iron/Slashing: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13

Attack: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 9 + 1 = 20

Alexa Dorne |

Reflex Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
This time, Alexa catches the boiling blood squarely in the back.
The shock of the sudden burn drives the breath from her lungs--leaving nothing left for her to scream with. All that comes out is an agonized wheeze.

Darya Flamekissed |

Looking back the other way, to see what other enemy might be approaching, Darya is caught by surprise as the gout of boiling blood splashes her full on.
Reflex/Heroism/Haste: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 7 + 2 + 1 = 13
Turning to see the demon still battling on, she quickly calls upon her innor font of divine healing energy, alleviating the worst of the damage as she drops her sword, raising her loaded crossbow on the strap around her shoulder and fires down the hall at the demon.
Lay on hands (self): 3d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 5) = 11
Heavy Crossbow/ Haste/Heroism/ Shooting into melee: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 7 + 1 + 2 - 4 = 23
Piercing: 1d10 ⇒ 9

GM the Fifth |

Uriel cuts down the second brimorak, spraying more boiling blood into the air.
Boiling blood vs Arloric, fire damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
You turn to face the end of the hallway in anticipation of more enemies, but no one appears.
We'll stay in initiative since there are rounds/level spells running. Darya, you can replace your actions since it's clear your crossbow shot wasn't necessary.
Round 5
Effects: Haste (all), Heroism (Uriel, Darya), Blur (Uriel)
Telerin, Arloric, Darya, Uriel, Alexa, Kemat <---
>>>>> Map <<<<<

Alexa Dorne |

Knowing that something else might be coming, Alexa flattens herself against the wall in an attempt to hide.
Stealth?: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32

Uriel Aurelius |

Did the blue keep Uriel from being hurt?
I think that was an area effect, Blur wouldn't matter.
