Did the vrock leave?


For some reason I didn't get RSS updates for these posts.

The Vrock is dead.

Daria surges towards the brimorak ahead of her and slashes into it. The strikes leave it heavily wounded.

Kemat unleashes her spell, and as it washes over the brimoraks it seems to fizzle, leaving them unaffected.

Neither roll is good enough to penetrate SR.

Arloric steps up behind Darya, and taps her as he casts his spell.

Uriel surges forward with incredible speed and hammers his target furiously. All but one of his blows land, and the brimorak is gravely wounded.

FYI. I just checked the rules on SR, and you only get a roll for each creature if you are using a spell that explicitly targets more than one creature. For area of effect spells, there's just one roll for SR.

A roll against spell resistance is d20 + your caster level + any bonuses from feats etc. Riftwarden adds +1 level to your spellcasting class at a 3/4 advancement (+0 at 1st, and +1 at 2nd-4th). So evoker 5/riftwarden 2 means your caster level is 6, and your roll would be d20+6 (caster level) +2 (spell penetration)

One at the a time, the two brimoraks step back away from the paladins, disappearing and reappearing behind Telerin and Kemat with pops of displaced air.

Smoke billows out from their nostrils, threatening to overwhelm the two women.

@Telerin and @Kemat, since you are starting your turn next to the brimoraks, I need two DC17 Fort saves (one for each) to avoid being sickened. If you are immune to poison then you are immune to this effect.

he subject’s outline appears blurred, shifting, and wavering. This distortion grants the subject concealment (20% miss chance).

A see invisibility spell does not counteract the blur effect, but a true seeing spell does.

Opponents that cannot see the subject ignore the spell’s effect (though fighting an unseen opponent carries penalties of its own).

As Alexa faces the end of the hallway, she sees movement crossing the entryway on the right, where the vrocks and brimoraks came in. She can't make out more than a vague shape before it's out of view.

Unable to get to the Brimoraks with Arloric in her way, Darya turns on her heel as her love spots more enemy activity, trusting the remaining demon on the other end to her brother's blade.

The brimorak opens its mouth wide, and a stream of boiling blood jets from its maw.

This is a breath weapon, forming a line from A11 to A2 where it strikes the wall. Uriel, Alexa, Telerin, and Darya are caught in it.

This time, Alexa catches the boiling blood squarely in the back.

The shock of the sudden burn drives the breath from her lungs--leaving nothing left for her to scream with. All that comes out is an agonized wheeze.

Looking back the other way, to see what other enemy might be approaching, Darya is caught by surprise as the gout of boiling blood splashes her full on.

Turning to see the demon still battling on, she quickly calls upon her innor font of divine healing energy, alleviating the worst of the damage as she drops her sword, raising her loaded crossbow on the strap around her shoulder and fires down the hall at the demon.

Alexa blends into the shadows while the others prepare for another assault, but all is quiet.

Nothing happens after a couple of rounds of waiting. Arloric, you don't see or hear any movement.
