As I look through the piercing weapons so Astri can have a dedicated underwater weapon, I regret selling off all those short swords we keep finding.
Might pick up a rapier to do the job.

Chell Silves |

Underwater crossbow, piercing weapons or get all of your stuff the Seabourne Enchantment.

Astrianna Sparacello |

I didn't know about he Seaborne Enchantment, pretty cool.
The Underwater Crossbow is technically a Merfolk weapon, probably have to ask Baldwin if we can acquire one.
Wizards are great, but if Sorrin is the only one in melee he's going to get killed eventually. You need a flanking buddy.
Astri uses Grease for exactly what you would expect.
Chell, Sorrin, what do you think about what we should do next? What do you think about the plan I outlined earlier?

As long as Embri doesn't take the headband off (gross, it's going to get so sweaty) I believe it's considered permanent after 24 hours. In DnD 3.5 you didn't gain skill points but in Pathfinder you do. Source
That's pretty nice, I wish Astri had 7 skill points to play with! Her acrobatics and spellcraft need some work.
Astri's headband makes her retroactively sexier, causing everyone to remember her being even more attractive.

Quite busy today.
Bri here is the answer to your question it was on Paizo's official FAQ.
Headband of Vast Intelligence: If I wear this item, do I get retroactive skill ranks for my Int increase in addition to the skill ranks associated with the item?
No. The skill associated with the magic item represents the "retroactive" skill ranks you'd get from the item increasing your Intelligence. You don't get the item's built-in skill ranks and another set to assign however you want.

This actually conflicts with the official response contained in the FAQ. The FAQ response actually occurred subsequent to the post that you cite addressing the Headband of Vast Intelligence.

Astrianna Sparacello |

Is the FAQ only referring to Headband of Vast Intelligence? It seems to be an exception to the general rule.

baldwin the merciful |

This intricate gold headband is decorated with several small blue and deep purple gemstones.
The headband grants the wearer an enhancement bonus to Intelligence of +2, +4, or +6. Treat this as a temporary ability bonus for the first 24 hours the headband is worn. A headband of vast intelligence has one skill associated with it per +2 bonus it grants. After being worn for 24 hours, the headband grants a number of skill ranks in those skills equal to the wearer's total Hit Dice. These ranks do not stack with the ranks a creature already possesses. These skills are chosen when the headband is created. If no skill is listed, the headband is assumed to grant skill ranks in randomly determined Knowledge skills.
I forgot the knowledge skill associated with the Headband: Nature.

Astrianna Sparacello |

Ohhhhh in the loot list you said it was a Headband of Intellect +2, not Vast Intelligence, which is why I was confused. Lesson learned.
My spreadsheet is not up to date, I'll do that right now actually. Astrianna needs to pay for her suite at the Green Dragon as well.
I'm fine with 4 party members. We're not exactly the classic Fighter, Wizard, Rogue, Cleric but we definitely have the bases covered.

Sorrin the Wayward |

We did earn an audition for Bethany Razor.
There is a sewer dive for a ring.
Otherwise, sure... What you said.
Sorrin needs to pay off his debt, has the money just needs to stop by. He never spent/used it.

Astrianna Sparacello |

Idea! After we purchase the Baron we should talk to Captain Razor... maybe we could join her for a privateering run? That would give us a clear objective while we're out at sea. The Baron almost goes as fast as Quell's Whore, so we wouldn't be slowing them down.
I have the strange feeling Karskor Thul is in the sewers, we might find the ring down there while we're at it. Of course, he could not be in the sewer, but we're talking about someone that wears leather armor with black lacquered rat skulls hanging off of it. That screams sewer to me.

Sorrin the Wayward |

I understand the fascination with the commandant and Baron of Tides, but...
We do have a date with the crew of Quell's Whore, and skipping out on it, kissing up to the commandant and buying The Baron might seem a slight.
Let's at least keep our date with Bethany, make allies. Then take it from there.

I have no intention of skipping out on meeting Bethany Razor or the crew of Quell's Whore, it should be done. Looking at your discussion with Jacob and Belok, you wanted us to put on a demonstration for Bethany correct? Why would you want to do it in a crappy ship like the Dragon's Tail?
You didn't set a date so I would recommend getting a better ship, more/better sailors first before we try to seek an alliance with a true Hero Captain of Port Shaw.
If you just want to meet her then set the date for the demonstration that's fine. I'm sure we can fit in meeting her and the crew and still go to The Run Aground Tavern and speak to Lester about Kaskhor Thul's whereabouts in one day.

Embrianna |

Yes, we must go to the Quell's Whore.
And yes, we need a better ship than the Tail to host guests on. That's just embarrassing if we want to impress anyone.
I agree with Astri on the true hero alliance thing about getting a better ship and some good sailors first. Impressions are everything.

baldwin the merciful |

All valid points...eventually you all need to make a decision that is if you want to head to sea. If you don't want to head to sea that's fine just let me know for planning purposes.
I will say Capt Bethany won't be be overly impressed if you are sailing the Dragon's Tail and proposing a joint operation.

Astrianna Sparacello |

Proposed timeline for today (Day 9):
1)Miss Molly's (We're all gross)
2)Sell loot, split cash, make purchases
3)Head to the docks, pay docking fee, visit Quell's Whore
4)Go to Run Aground Tavern to speak to Lester about Karskor Thul
Thoughts?

Astrianna Sparacello |

Speaking of treasure, did that massive sinkhole in the temple have anything else in it other than the body of the fallen explorer? We were going to search it before leaving but the whole sinking thing kind of prevented that.

Astrianna Sparacello |

Good thing we didn't waste time diving into it then.
Also, about how long are you thinking recruitment will be open? My good friend Fighting Chicken (I believe you have spoken to them before, Baldwin) is interested in applying for our melee position, but they are having a busy week and are heading on vacation for a bit afterwards, so I figured I'd inquire for them to see how long they have to put something together.
It's sad, FC got into a Razor Coast game a few weeks ago, and then right as they were to begin the GM was in a car accident and broke his hand. This effectively killed the game as you might imagine.

Pure cashola:
521pp = 5210
3525gp = 3525
6320sp = 632
510cp = 5.1
(9372.1gp pure cash total) Correct
To sell:
20 small diamonds (100gp each) = 2000
53 rubies (100gp each) = 5300
2 jet gemstones (150 gp each) = 300
1 enameled platinum picture (500gp) =500
+2 Light Crossbow (4,017.5gp sell price)
+2 hide armor (2007.5gp sell price)
Decorated knife (400gp)
(14525gp items to sell total)
Total in gp: 23897.1gp
Double checked he math. Over 2000 missing unless someone is keeping one of the magic items on the bottom. I thought you said Torgue was keeping the +2 hide but that would still be 21889.6. Every cent counts.
Again, are we going to take 10,000gp from this for the Baron? That leaves us with:
23897.1-10000=13897.1
13897.1/4=3474.28

Astrianna Sparacello |

Taking a second stab at it.
Pure cashola:
521pp
3825gp
6320sp
510cp
(9672.1gp pure cash total) (We received 300gp from Hargrove for the job, the tightwad)
To sell:
20 small diamonds (100gp each)
53 rubies (100gp each)
2 jet gemstones (150 gp each)
1 enameled platinum picture (500gp)
+2 Light Crossbow (4,017.5gp sell price)
+2 hide armor (2007.5gp sell price)
Decorated knife (400gp)
Total in gp: 24197.1gp
4839.42 gp per person We're still splitting the loot by 5 because Torgue gets his share. This should be the definitive number.
As for whether or not we're buying a ship right now or waiting until we capture Thul and get an audience with the Commandant is up to Bri and Sorrin, they haven't weighed in on the matter. I'd rather wait post-Thul to purchase the ship so Astri can talk him down on the price, but if we want to purchase now and Astri start recruiting sailors or something that's fine too. But we should definitely go after Thul before we take to the sea. I feel that scrimshaw may be very important to the plot... Or a powerful artifact. Astri asked Jasmine to do some research on the Jawbone, need to pay her a visit.

Astrianna Sparacello |

I was following the recruitment and the discussion for that RC game. I saw he had been accepted in that game. I don't have a set time frame to keep recruitment open for at this time. I need see how it pans out.
I was following the recruitment of that game as well, it was getting kind of weird...

Astrianna Sparacello |

Let's just say there were some interesting personalities interacting in the recruitment discussion.

Astrianna Sparacello |

You've told me that before Sorirn, and I forgot. It won't stick in my brain for some reason.

+2 hide armor (2082.5gp sell price)
Decorated knife (400gp Baldwin said it was masterwork but he also said it was worth 400gp, so it's worth 400gp)
Total in gp: 24422.1gp
4884.42 gp per person

Astrianna Sparacello |

Sorrin, Embri, do you think we should use this money to purchase the Baron, or wait until we turn in Thul? Or if you have a third option?

Astrianna Sparacello |

Lol the idea is amusing and with some bluff and diplomacy rolls maybe. I think it's a seller's market though and the only reason those ships are still for sale is artificial gaming convenience.
