Firing into melee will be interesting for those with no precise shot.

As will teammates creating soft cover for the enemy, making it nearly impossible to hit with range at -8.

Agile Breastplate is tricky, doesn't do anything much if you go Mithral and you have an ACP aiding feature (armor training, armor expert, comfort, etc...).

Oh I thought you got an agile one as well. Nevermind, forgot about the fighter armor training! Such a nice feature, makes me want to play a fighter.

Though I already want to play a ninja and a wizard as well... I'll add it on to the list of things I want to play.

So mithril breastplate.

Mithril is a -3 to ACP.

It also says masterwork is included in the price so it is masterwork which is another -1 to ACP

Does this mean a mithril breastplate is a total of -4 to ACP?

The masterwork bonus is already included. So.. Mithril is -2 to acp, -1 for the masterwork, but because all mithril items are masterwork it's just -3 all the time for mithril items.

By the way Baldwin, is the decorated knife found on the fallen adventurer considered a dagger or is it more like a camping knife not meant for fighting?

I do wish the designers of game had given the size of the Swan Boat token. It only states that it can hold 32 medium characters. I made it 20 by 15.

Chell- Nice work with the swan boat!

Torgue- You have a flank bonus as well, not that I think you need it.

Sorrin- If Astrianna uses Hold Person on one of the gatormen you're fighting, and while we know they'll make their will save (I think they have +11,) what would Sorrin do if they didn't? He made a fuss about attacking helpless opponents once, just want to know if this situation is different.

Embri- Do you have any way to deal with the summoned swarm in the water? Unfortunately Dispel Magic is only single target and does not have an area effect, only Greater Dispel Magic does. Additionally, I was contemplating what would happen if you fireballed the ceiling above The Caller.... I have the feeling there's a risk of collapsing the entire room or causing the Hollow God to drop, but damn it would be cool.

I have two 2nd level spells, I'm going to do one of two things- Silence the area The Caller is in and try to get it to move towards us, or cast Silence on an arrow and shoot it at him. The latter will take two rounds to complete and I may miss. I wish I had silenced him while he was casting before, but for some reason it didn't register in my brain he was casting a summoning spell.

EDIT: everything being thrown at you/us isn't lethal, they are distractions of varying lethality. But, they're primary purpose is to ensure we fail the "mission", whether an individual character cares about the innocents or not. This isn't about morality or alignment.

It's rp and tactics. We will fail or succeed in attaining the mission objective.

Baldwin, vicariously thru the NPCs is playing head games. If you care more about rats or some electricity than winning, success, triumph... Well, that's up to you.

Chell has cleverly solved the problem of the Hollow God. There's a swam boat under the device now- if it falls the boat should hold them up. (Or it's just going to get crushed and tip over, LOL) We don't need to worry about the ropes anymore, just killing everything.

I don't think there are any "head games" going on. The Caller is simply focusing its spells on Astri, and another round of lightning bolt + swarm damage and she will be in the lower single digits of HP, or if unlucky unconscious. Astrianna isn't a damage dealer, she's mostly utility- stopping the spellcaster is far better than, as you said, doing 6hp of damage to something.

Actually, looking at the map, I think Astri is the only person The Caller can even see right now... should have just moved out of the way. Oh well.

I thought about that but the book has several summons that it does and since this is a really tough encounter, I didn't want to modify it.

Remember the cove! This has to last at least 15 rounds! Boss fight AND leveling after.

Need to scratch, claw and dig deep! Pay for every mistake, dropping mw scimitar, dropping bow, running out of channels, low AC, no piercing weapons, etc...

I think the problem with playing a witch is a lack of useful loot. I just really don't expect to be able to use any random drops we get. The only piece of gear I went ahead and took was that +2 cloak.

I'm no expert on witches or wizards, but wouldn't they use similar loot? Metamagic things, defense increasing items, spell enhancing items, staves and wands, etc.
