I know I have been a bit distant, but I just need to jump back in. Don't want to lose the flow...
I have noticed that PbP is pretty tricky for the things a Bard is good at. I want to be using reactions for things, but it feels tricky to do.
I am not useless, but there is a part of me who wishes I was playing another class that worked better in long form PbP type game.

Might be my ignorance as well. What sort of things would you like to use reactions for? I could work them into the narrative that you could later retcon or let stand.
Also, I was itching for a dungeon a few weeks ago, but whole adventure isn't like this. I mean there's 5 or 6 dungeons but lots of chances for a bard to shine. Somewhat depends on where you all decide to go.
Still, I don't think you are useless at all.

I can use my bardic inspiration to use cutting words. Which, as a reaction, can lower someone's Hit as they attack, Lowers the damage done after the strike is done. I also have counterspell to cancel out a spell as its cast, though that has not come into play yet.
Quite a few of the rules say I need to resolve it before I know the roll, which is impossible here on the forum.
I don't think I am useless, but some of my weird fun stuff just feels tricky to do here.
Don't worry, still having fun!

You need my games, I just let the bard make the decision even after they know the roll. It doesn't really hurt much, and only helps the party.

There's a similar ability that's fairly self serving (rather than team oriented) in Starfinder, and we made the decision that if the call is made after the roll is known, then the ability is at 50% effectiveness. If it's made prior, then it gets full power.
But SF is also a higher powered game. I don't think that solution would work well for 5e.

It helps to play smart. Also, aren't these Adventurers written for four PCs? We have 8, right? And everyone is going full Nova.
Imagine doing all this at the end of yesterday. I'd still have some Hunters Mark left, but all our casters were out of spells.

Jax will just follow along with whatever the party decided, he joined late, so he will tag along.

Nope, you don't want to know what Guh used that for.(sorry)
I've got values for those items
wooden rocking horse with silver inlay and blue quartz eyes (worth 25 gp);
small wooden chest containing a disguise kit (worth 25 gp)
wooden coffer containing six vials of holy water (worth 25 gp each)
a life-size wooden statue of a grinning halfling smoking a golden pipe (worth 25 gp)
a battered hat with five carnelians sewn into it (worth 50 gp each)
a gold flute (worth 250 gp)
flowerpot carved from jade with images of green dragons (worth 750 gp)
wooden puppet theater with gold trim, along with gold-stringed puppets wearing bejeweled costumes (worth 2,500 gp)

Most recently, the Lord's Alliance defeated Tiamat during the Dragon's Hoard/Rise of Tiamat 5e published adventures. Yartar is considered part of the Alliance. They are sort of like NATO of the Sword Coast. And last time the party met them, Jysson nearly knocked the s~@! out of them.

I am realizing more and more how little time I have. I am worried my lack of jumping on and responding is going to cause a drain on the game.
I think I am going to drop out. I know you got a few extra, so my loss wont be too bad on everyone.
I am DMing another Pathfinder game PbP, preparing to DM a Rise of the Runelords game in January, and have a 3 month old baby.. Plus I work full time. Having another system to play too is just mucking my brain a bit too much right now.
Good luck everyone. Thanks for the opportunity.

Believe it or not, I did give Jax a faction, even though this isn't AL, and I just happened to pick Lords alliance upon character creation. Actually it's my favored faction and almost all my 5e characters have it. It was in his profile, but that is up to the DM whether he officially is or isn't a part of that alliance since this isn't AL where a faction is required. Not sure if this affects too much of the story.
