I've another week-long business trip starting tonight with spotty posting availability. Please bot me if necessary. Be back Friday evening.
cheers

So, since posting rate has dropped so dramatically, I was thinking of opening up recruitment again. However, I wanted to know if everyone was still on board and give you a chance to step out with no shame if not. When I don't get a post from everyone everyday it feels like I'm playing alone and doing the DM stuff for nothing to be honest. I was really hoping jumping out of the sandbox chapter and into this dungeon would have helped but I guess not.
Thoughts? Any other ideas to increase post rate?

Hey everyone. I've been recruited from Infinity's Escape from the Underdark game to fill in over here. I wanted to see what I rolled before I picked a class. I'm seeing two and a half wizards (assuming the rogue is an arcane trickster) and two front line types. Based on that I'm thinking either a valor bard or a vengeance paladin.

Couldn't sleep so here is a rough and dirty IC/OOC summary of the adventure. Not necessary to read gameplay, but I'm pretty proud of the cloud castle scenes and the attack on Triboar (in fact those two things might be the most fun/enjoyment I've had on the boards).
Main Plot, as known IC: Giants are going crazy everywhere and no one knows why. Nearly every major settlement has been attacked in the last few months. They are acting unlike giants have ever acted.
Secondary Plot, as known IC: Fire giants seem to be trying to assemble some massive 60 ft tall construct called the "Vonindod".
Active Quests: Talk to the oracle. Talk to the Harpers.
We did Fallen Fortress (a PF module) with 5e rules instead of the little intro adventure (not knowing we were going to do STK after). Up to the end of the final battle is in a separate game thread.
The party was sent to an ancient tower that had cracked open from an earthquake near Waterdeep. A troglodyte druid and his bizarre animal friends had taken residence. The party was victorious, however one of their members tragically died during the final battle...a dwarf named Odan, fell to his death when the top floor collapsed. This was up to level 3.
The party decided to take Odan's remains and banner to his closest relative. A bard they helped free from the tower tracked down a relative in Nightstone in return for the assistance.
Arriving at Nightstone, they found ruins and stories about how Cloud Giants attacked them from their castles and uprooted the Nightstone (a large chunk of obsidian) from the town square. They found the frightened villagers in a nearby cave and learned Odan's relative had escaped to Triboar.
Along the way they found a cloud castle hovering nearby with inviting stairs...they were able to hitch a ride from a friendly cloud giant named Zephyros. Along the way they were attacked by Howling Hatred cultists riding giant vultures, then again by Lord's Alliance dwarves delivered in the claws of a great silver dragon named Clarion. The latter encounter nearly erupted into violence but the party persuaded the alliance to leave Zephyros alone. They eventually reached Triboar and Zephyros departed for the Moonshae Isles. Party reached 5th.
The party finally laid Odan to rest, but almost immediately afterwards Triboar was attacked by a massive force of fire giants, elementals, and of course orcs riding chocobos. The entire town participated in this most epic of battles. The party was victorious, but never learned why they attacked. Triboar's mayor revealed herself as a Harper and urged the party to travel to Everlund to talk to her people there.
Subquests...A magic item named "Rod of the Vonindod" was also found that could seek adamantine. An identify spell revealed its crafter, someone named Duke Zalto. Rights to this rod were lost in a friendly mage duel. The party investigated reports of an Oni in the forest guising as a god, and put it down. Level 6.
A woman approached from the south screaming bloody murder about giants, and the party set off into the wilderness with some new allies.
They reached a barbarian trading field which was a slaughter, and tracked some hill giants to their lair: a massive artificial dam they would later know as Grudd Haug. The hill giants were allied with hobgoblin engineers and wyvern riders, along with some orcs. Again the party executed a massive assault that left the leader "Chief Guh" dead. Guh wanted to be the biggest giant of all, so she ate excessively. Fattest of the fat b~#%+es basically.
With mounds of treasure secured on a river boat they traveled north to Yartar, where Urth's saviness secured the treasure and they had a rest. There in the inn they had another confrontation with Clarion's dwarves, and learned a few things about Vonindod from a gnome named "Chipluck".
Finally, they learned Yartar itself was the target of an attack, their Citadel (a haven for holy men and gateway between the sword coast and the savage frontier) was completely destroyed. Reports indicated the fire giants took a large piece of something from the foundation.
Securing passage to Everlund, the party set off into the Evermoors (a swamp). Along the way they found a cave with some fire giants enslaving some trolls, in an effort to unearth a giant hand/wrist of the Vonindod perhaps. Among the treasure was a second Rod of the Vonindod in a dwarven chest...
Their next stop was Mornbryn's Shield, where they found Zhentarim had taken over the town ostensibly offering protection against giants. The party didn't stand for it and attacked, but during the battle the legendary Harshnag the frost giant (known in taverns throughout Faerun as a giant slayer) stepped in to assist.
It turned out he was actually looking for them. Having heard of their success at Triboar and the slaying of the Giant Lord Guh at Grudd Haug, he offered the take them to a secret giant temple far to the north, the Eye of the All-Father. There, they could speak with an oracle and perhaps finally discover what the f*$$ was going on. Level 7.
And here we are at the very beginning of Chapter 4: The Eye of the All-Father after handwaving a 5 day journey. They are right at the entrance. Harshnag could perhaps have also sought you out and told you to meet him there, or maybe you met during an adventure along the way. Or if youd like you could be a prisoner of something inside, whatever you want. We are up near Mirabar and the Spine of the World.
Ill put this in campaign info, too.

So, current players I was thinking about it and wanted to give you a chance to rebuild in an effort to generate more interest.
Ask yourself "Would it make me sad if I didn't get to RP my character everyday?" If not, if apathetic about it, please consider a rebuild.
You can keep your name and completely change mechanics, drop your name/mechanics and make a new character with memories/experiences of old character, or make a totally new character. The point is I want you to play something fun that draws you into the game (and posting).
Thoughts? Any takers?

Did we ever divide up the gold and sell the stuff on page 20 of gameplay? I never added it to my character sheet, cause I assume we would have sold the big stuff first before dividing it.

Anyone here interested in joining my 5e Storm Kings Thunder game?
I'm opening recruitment soon to try and breathe some life back into it, need some fast posters and thought I'd ask here first. Starting level is 7th, have room for 2. Rolled stats and no unearthed arcana.
We've completed 4 of 10 chapters but really no events super significant have occurred yet, other than the party getting some renown. Faction optional.
Party is:
wizard 6/cleric 1
wizard 7
fighter 7
rogue 7
druid 7
Hello,
GM Infinity offered a chance to join up with your merry band of Giant Slayers. I will be rolling something up.
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 2, 4) = 15=13
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 5, 5) = 19=16
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 6, 6) = 20=18
4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 4, 3) = 16=13
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 2, 3) = 16=14
4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 1, 4) = 7=6
Wealth: 1d10 ⇒ 1x25+500=525
From what it looks like here a Cleric, Ranger or Bard might be a good choice. I think one of the other players was talking about a Bard so I might look into something divine.
Any suggestions from you who are already playing as to what might help?

So we were going to introduce me, but i opted out feeling rude, few days later they opened recruitment. Could i have done that GM? She saw them, and realized that Harshnag is with them and it is probably a threat that requires more than just her.
GM Infinity |
If you'd rather play it like you are attracted more to Harshnag than the party themselves, that works too. As mentioned Harshnag is well known throughout Faerun in the death arenas known as "inns". He was a member of "Force Grey" a highly destructive but appreciated squad that helped Waterdeep out of some major jams.
Theres also factions and faction-lites to consider. Molok is part of the Lord's Alliance. Jax is an Uthgardt barbarian though I'm not sure that is known IC. It would be pretty easy for a Harper to be inserted, in particular. Since you just beat the s!*$ out of a bunch of Zhents, perhaps one of you is an undercover agent pretending to be something else. Lots of options as usual, rule again is just do what excites you about posting daily.

Hay people, I will be the other person joining yous!
Sorry for the late post was just making sure the group was not to large.
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4, 6) = 21 17
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 1, 4) = 12 11
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 6, 6) = 17 15
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 5, 4) = 13 12
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 3, 3) = 15 12
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 6, 6) = 23 18
I can't complain bout that, any complaints, any requests for a class, still fairly new so fine with trying anything the party wants.
one I got the class I can bash make the character fairly fast.

So I still have to do equipment + the magic item and type up the background I have in mind. Speaking of the magic item though, I notice none of the bard instruments are on that list even though a few of them are uncommon. If one of those are an option I'll grab it. If not, I still have to pick something else.
Werecaster, for our mini party joining the larger group we have a paladin, a casty bard, and a cleric. Correct me if I'm wrong but the group at large has a couple wizards, a tank druid, a Frontline fighter (I'm assuming), and a trickster rogue. Any roll you want to play would be fine I think.

No worries, I thought as much myself as well. I guess they figured the power level would offset how exclusive it is. I dunno. I'll figure something out. Also, can I spend some of my gold on paying a wizard to copy some rituals out of his book? I took the ritual caster feat for some extra utility.
