I'm slowly reading through it all, (school, life, general bothering circumstances, keep getting in the way of such desires.
I am thinking of coming back with a new character, and sidelining most of my current/past ones, I think trying to keep up with a ton of people is the reason I keep burning out on this game....

My dad showed me that. Pretty cool.
Had a pretty good birthday.
I turned 18, so I registered for the draft, got some lottery scratchers and I wanted to order something off of an infomercial, but I didn't get around to it.Went to Anime Club and we watched The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Spirited Away.
Oh, also went to Einstein Brothers for breakfast, which is my favorite breakfast place.
Was going through old posts looking for something and found this from a few days ago that I missed. Belated happy brithday, Magic. :)

My recommendation would be to focus on a current character while letting the others stay in the background with occasional appearances as they have NPC status. Salis is already an NPC and can pretty much go indefinitely with only occasional appearances. I would recommend focusing on either Sorun or Dom. If not Sorun, then is he going to leave? That would be sad for Ryleh since her friendship with Shees is the only time she gets screen time outside of being a plot device, but I understand. Dom already has lots of connections to other characters and if you focused on him could easily come back to main character status. I've got the Tami storyline on hold at present because you've been gone, but could move up the timetable on that. Plus there's that whole battle of the bands thing coming up. Dom's band hasn't even auditioned their new drummer yet. Point is, there's lots of stuff to step into quickly with that character. A new character has to be built and then integrated into the story which all takes work.

Of the two that you mentioned, only Sorun is mine. Dom belongs to Salis' player. I had Renkai and Treisdan...

Phew. First day of a ski trip today. Got out to the mountains and got all setup. Ready to go out tomorrow for plenty of skiing pain.....
Try to get some posts up tonight, but might be slow for the rest of the week (as opposed to my usual lightning-fast pace).
Hope you have a good time on your skiing trip. :)

Sorry! It's been a while since either of you have been active and I got the character lists mixed up. Mea culpa. There are a lot of players to keep track of and each of y'all have multiple characters. Sometimes I lose track...

I understand Lynora, I will try to get back into synch with one of my characters, Probably Treisdan.

Whelp. Day one of skiing. Against all odds I'm not dead yet despite not having skied in 15 odd years. Even ended up by accident on a black diamond trail, and basically ended up tobogganing down that on my butt.
Sadly, my knees and leg muscles are staging a mutiny. Posts will be a bit.
Black diamond trails are eeebil. Glad you survived. I recommend a bath with epsom salts if at all possible. Ice packs on those knees if not. :)

If you can't make things work with Treisdan, then we can talk about bringing in somebody new. I know you've had a hard time gaining traction with that character. Aside from learning the real history (including her first name!) of Miss Jones, he hasn't really connected with anyone else yet.

Sorry Marcell, Treisdan is a bit out of it... I don't want you to feel like I am ditching you as a person, but Treisdan feels terrible, and he knows why... he is just trying to avoid the I told you so of Ms. Jones
Hay, don't worry.
I know you're acting In charecter.
I like that more then I like being interacted with personally.

Because, that's what Lyn wants. All custom races are supposed to be judged vs the Firebird at 25 RP, or at least were, when last I spoke to her.
At the moment, mine stands at 10, clearly not even close to 25(which I was told was the cap), and I have some other stuff I would like to add, but this immunity is kinda important.

A race created via the Race Builder from Advanced Race Guide.
Perhaps Tanuki and Tengu are races built with more than 25 race points, but Lyn told me awhile ago to keep one I was working on to within the 25 that is the Firebird race. Which is what I've been striving to do.

They are fun :)

Lynora, how did you come up with Ryleh's name?
Just random thought/question
Same way I usually come up with names. Started combining random syllables until I liked the sound of it. Sometimes I use baby name websites if I want a name that means something in particular or sounds a little more normal, but otherwise random syllables every time. :)

Tanuki and Tengu were built to be more equal to the Kitsune that we already had in play and as such had a lot more oversight from me than something from the race builder would. So it's kind of comparing apples and oranges. Still, 25 pts gets you something pretty awesome since that's what we used for both firebirds and lycans.
As for the language thing, holy hell that's a big advantage. That would be worth a lot of points. Probably 6 or 7 based on comparables.lynora |
Oh... I was just kinda wondering if it was a masterful anagram on words... R'lyeh is the name of the palace of Cthulu.
And I'm sure that subconsciously influenced why I put those letters together in that order, but no, it wasn't on purpose.

On lunch skiing now, just wanted to post that I'm still alive! *wave*

Since spells like Message and Hidden Speech are LD, I would make it only harmful spells. Either way, its a very short list.
Immunity to an element is 4 Race Points, and technically, one does not actually have to automatically have the opposite vulnerability for fire and cold.
Lyn, maybe you thought I meant immunity to spells with a verbal component? THAT would be worth 6+ and also be something I would never ask for. Way too OP.
