The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

Also nice I like that concept now that it's been properly explained, but wouldn't it e more prideful to leave on the grounds that you had better things to do?

That's just a dire wolf with the spell Pup Shape.

Better than crushing your competitions, seeing them beaten behind you, and hearing the lamentations of their fans?

David... I feel like putting you in a room with a near impossible puzzle, and then hanging a sign that says, "if you can't do it, thats not a problem, I will get around to doing it myself later..."

Deciding it isn't worth your time rather then giving them the time of day? Seems prideful to me.

Heh. She's a predator.

She likes to hunt and kill animals- usually for food.

When she doesn't, she feels like she's missing something, because she's done it for so long.

He would hate to have to harm people- just animals.

You killed him off.
Crazy is up for grabs. :P

Wouldn't You like to Know?

Technically its my fault...

Or even better... have him face a 'mirror' of himself, and have it challenge him for the title of himself... prove himself to be more him than he is.... and have him be sealed David in a duel against himself for dang near eternity.... because David could never admit defeat... especially to himself... Literally xD

Male sorcerer 16 wilder (leader/telepath) 3 elocater 2, thrallherd 1, pyrokineticist 10.

Nah, the previous one was better
He couldn't go "I'm better nyyyyyah" to a note
Even to himself he could, and then he's give himself the silent treatment for a bit, and then leave.
The note + impossible puzzle would be the way to go.
Just make sure it's not one that he could solve by cutting the knot.

RE: Logical Weaknesses

I think, before we can accept weaknesses, we have to understand if there are limits we, as players, want to apply beyond the game setting rules.

Benefits? For an individual's 'fun', having the challenge of limits is fun. For others, not really. They, I have noticed in some, prefer to overcome, crush, or roll past challenges because fantasy emulating real life is not enjoyable.

So, I think the first question is: Who wants that?

We can kind of determine that based on the responses so far. Doesn't determine commitment, though, in my humble opinion.

All that said...

My understanding of the Patrons is that they are 'infinite' beings expressed through their Ideal/Concept. All our in-game reality (and subsequent sub-planes, attached to the Prime) are a canvas they can paint, stir and doodle on as they desire. That's to define their scope.

While I have seen some 'limitations' in the Champions, that's mostly due to who (and why) the Champion is, not due to a Patron itself. So I would argue you won't be able find an in-game limit against the Patrons or their ability, per say, but against their Champion certainly.

So... What's this mean? Just ask if a player wants to play a scene. I'm sure if your goal is to explore limitations and enjoy that with another (exploring psychological limits), sweet. As always, collaborative story telling with those want it.

So, rambling aside...

Guess I'm saying, due to our setting, it might require a willing subject to achieve the logical weakness with respect to the Patron's powers, primarily due to the PC's definitions. Then again, they are Lynora's convention, ergo, she can add insight we can only speculate and assume upon for now (specific to the Patrons).

Blarge. Felt the urge to write all that. Hope it stirs some thoughts. It did for me.

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Quick question,

Mithral shields are considered masterwork as well. Does that mean the armor check penalty would be -4 in total for both or still the base minus 3 of Mithral??

Grushdeva du kalt misht

Wait. The perfect way to explain how i think of it just occurred to me.... its not that the concept doesn't exist in such places but that the concept is not thought of in the place... people in the bottom of a mine may wish for sunlight and hope for it all day, so the concept of light exists....

Or a crypt... life exists in a crypt, worms and bugs and bacteria, but when the word crypt is heard, people think of death, and so death, while only actually existing when things die, would have influence over the graveyard... not life.

I guess thats the best way for me to explain how I was thinking of it...

Does Revarti have any sort of active magical effects? anything that lets him see things like aura or hear thoughts...

it will help me determine how to explain how and what you see.

Not yet.

If she opens her third eye, she can trigger true seeing and greater arcane sight.

She doesn't have it open, though, as that's strenuous, and she doesn't know what's going on- no need to open the eye until she knows suspects that there is a magical problem.

(Ie- soon, possibly.)

Grushdeva du kalt misht

Now we just need a doctor.... Is there an NPC in the house?

Grushdeva du kalt misht

Also whoever plays NPC can have the Info-dump for Eligor if they are playing an intelligent NPC, or not if they are just a doc.
